  1. The speeches were actually not that long and the announcements in other languages seemed to be very brief. And I know that gratuities are included but a lot of people are known to ask for them to be taken off at the start as they like to pay people as and when. And some of us like to pay the extra to our stewards etc. A table of French people behind us (6 all week to the last night when one couple was missing) were commenting that the missing couple were avoiding paying a gratuity. Anyway that's another topic.

  2. We attended the welcome back cocktail party on the Thursday gala night and found that a lot of the people attending were very rude to the waiting staff, when they were being offered drinks from the trays they just reached up took a drink with no word of thank you or a smile or any other acknowledgement. It was as though the waiting staff were invisible.

Also whilst the speeches were being made by the captain and crew people just carried on with their own conversations, in lots of cases without even lowering their voices.

Another interesting observation was that people who had dined in the MDR all week were missing on the last night! Is this a not wanting to pay a tip thing?

In some reviews people have said they struggled to get drinks, we had no problem you just caught the eye of a passing member of staff.

And we found without exception that all the crew were friendly polite and very helpful.

From our side we were impolite in that we did not use our invite to the Black party due to having been sleeping as jet lag caught up with us!

Finally (and this is random) one guy at the welcome back cocktail party was wearing the most amazing jacket! the back of it was a picture of a cruise ship! Stunning!

  3. We saw it last Sunday. The fathom Adonia. Very small looking! For us travelling from the UK the Opera seems a better option. We met a lady on the big bus in Miami Lat Sunday who had been on the ship she said that the passengers had been given the option of staying on the ship for a second week I believe complimentary for the cruise to I think the Dominican Republic.

  4. We are thinking of this for April 2017, has anyone been on this ship and done this cruise? Think will be a bit different to last week on the Divina...

  5. We had that package last week and it included cocktails, wine by the glass, and spirits but not premium labels, you could have prosecco but not champagne, whiskey included Jameson and Johny walker for example. We found it to be very good value. Maureen is onboard at the moment I'm sure she will post a copy of a bar menu.

  6. Thanks Maureen! Have a super time we most definitely did! We are now enjoying the last night of our trip across the road at the Yve Hotel! And planning our next trip to Florida in October! No cruise though.

  7. We arrived back at around 6am closely followed by the Norwegian Escape.

We have a disembarking time of 8.15. We could have had a later one re Black card benefit but decided to stay with this as it was the time allocated to our friends.

  8. Can I disagree with the above? This past week the spa girls have been giving out flyers with reduced rates daily. They were not busy at all! I just walked in one day and got 2 treatments immediately. And on the first gala night was offered a choice of at least 3 different times.

  10. There was a Cruise Critic get together arranged for yesterday at 16.00 in one of the bars. This was in in the Daily News Sheet but I saw it too late so I missed it sadly.

  11. The wifi has a timer that you use the start on each time you log in its for 30 mins each time. I would like to add a screenshot but "it"won't let me! I can't explain better than that. I am sat on my balcony now in my black card perk bathrobe sat drinking coffee looking at the sea and knowing that we are now on the return leg of our journey and back to a cold UK at the weekend! And we have no more free holiday time available to book again till next year! Bug!

  12. We are on 13 deck now and the noise is minimal. We are also near a bank of lifts. Our friends are in an aft cabin on 12!and love it! Perks from black card are great. It seems that every day when you return to your cabin a gift or invite is waiting for you. We are loving the food in the main dining room. But we love Italian food. The buffet is huge and has a good selection. If you go in at breakfast they even have a bacon and egg breakfast pizza.

Just to say ship announcements are minimal, Darren the cruise director is very inoffensive.

And what is funny is that a lot of the critical comments from this forum seem to have been answered, it's as though some one from MSC is reading and acting on the negative criticism . Or maybe we are just having a great time and enjoying it all!

  13. Re the slippers don't know. They are the same as the ones in hotels though. If anyone is interested there is a lot of corner shelf space in the bathroom for your toiletries.
