  1. You still pay for the 20% on the original package and then pay for the upgrade which is $29 plus 20% per person per day. On a 7 day cruise, you will pay $152.60pp for the standard package and then $243.60pp additional for the upgrade.
  2. Even if any of those two were true, they gave a full refund. A bait and switch would be cancelling the cruise, only giving them the option for a higher price cruise and not offering a refund.
  3. BTW..there are wines that are $9-$10 but to us they have been garbage. We have been more likely to pay the difference for a $16-$17 wine that is better. If you decide to get a $16 wine, you get credit for the $15 and pay the $1 plus .20 gratuity on the $1.
  4. I would say it’s a glitch because Cats will not even come close to selling out even on full cruises. Just keep checking back.
  5. It’s really up to you if you feel it’s worth. The gratuities are $21.80pp/pd. Glasses of wine are $14-$15 and bottles of beer are $9-$10. Since you know you are going to drink around what the breakeven would be, you probably won’t be that far off from what the gratuities are. I would see the package as a way to try different things. If you don’t like a wine, you can just grab another. If you are on a ship with a District Brewhouse, you can try different beers that you won’t normally try.
  6. Once you enter your daughters birthdate, the system will recognize they are under 21 and remove their gratuities.
  7. Once again, you are attacking people because they didn’t have the same experience as you. You only came to CC to complain about NCL and attack anyone who doesn’t feel the same way you do. Cruising is a lot of money. Move on. There are plenty of other cruise lines that you can hopefully have a better time on.
  8. So you create a CC log in to complain and then call anyone that doesn't have an issue with NCL "cheerleaders". NCL is offering a 10% discount on the current price of a different cruise. You are choosing a cruise that cost more than the previous one. There are plenty of cruises that are less than what you paid. I bet if the price of a different cruise with the 10% was less than your previous cruise, you wouldn't offer to pay NCL the difference.
  9. NCL was testing having the same menu every night on the new NCL Prima only. The theory was the being able to concentrate on the same items, the quality would go up. Most cruisers have said that the quality was better but they got bored of the menu. NCL has gone back to the rotating menu on the Prima.
  10. NCL cancelled your cruise over a year ahead of time and gave you a full refund. If you are not happy, find another cruise line that you will be happy with.
  11. Anything $15 and under is included which covers most choices. If it’s above $15, you just pay the amount above $15 plus 20%.
  12. Looks like the Star on a Northern Europe cruise based on the roll call they are posting to. They also posted back in March that they had that Plus on another cruise and while the selection wasn't great, it was still worth it. Seems like getting upset because supply issues on a ship sailing to Norway is a little much.
  13. The only cruise line that is honest about their pricing is Disney. They don't run sales. They just tell you to plan to pay double the other cruise lines and deal with it.
  14. That is how all the cruise lines work. Attaching Royal, Carnival and Celebrity home pages with their sale countdown. I check all 4 lines pretty regularly and the terms of the sales are extended or changed but the pricing doesn't.
  15. I personally would love to sail on the Icon but I also have two teenagers and I am a kid at heart. The only change that I do not like is that they changed the boardwalk to a play area you would find in a mall. I know older Royal loyalists have said they have no plans to sail on her.
  16. Same boat as you(pun not intended). The cruise lines have started offering longer cruises to different ports but can't take more than a week off of work and pull the kids out of school. Royal has a couple that go out to Coco Cay that are longer also. Sad also that Prima's stay is only short term. Thought it was permanent but Escape is replacing it next year.
  17. Honestly I have never noticed if someone is in the Haven. I think the only place it stands out is at the shows where they have a section roped off.
  18. Syd's doesn't look any smaller than on the Getaway and that ship has over 1,000 more capacity. It looks like there may be less seating though. On that ship we showed up right around starting time and stood around the bar until someone left. Its no different than going out to a bar with a good band at home.
  19. That's my issue with sailing out of Galveston. I am only 45 minutes from the port but you either have Costa Maya/Cozumel/Roatan(Harvest Caye with NCL) or Cozumel/Montego Bay/Grand Cayman. I am sailing for the ship when I sail out of Galveston.
  20. Take a look at her Galveston sailings. NCL is just starting to sail out of this port so I don't think people have realized it yet. She is there December through March.
  21. You already know the answer. The only way it really changes is if they take away the Free/$99 3rd and 4th guest that some cruises have.
  22. Are you not able to do online check in? Usually I just print the luggage tags that are included with the paperwork you get with the online check in. Edit: Online check in opens 21 days before the cruise but I don't know if that is different for Haven guests. Also, yes you can get luggage tags at the port if you need to.
  23. This is a great thread to review to see if the Haven is worth it to you.
