Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I have already received my OBC via email and sailed in July. This is exactly what I did. I got an error about no space available or something. The size of the file did not matter either. I tried for a month or so before my sailing.
  2. I tried all of that. I tried 2 different browsers on my mac and phone. I cleared caches for both on the mac. Never worked for me. Email worked though.
  3. Just a heads up. I don't know about X and gluten-free. However, there's a post on the DISboards DCL forum about how terrible their son's celiac experience was on NCL. Sorry, I recognized your avatar from that forum. Hopefully, your cruise will go off without any food hitches.
  4. Oceania looks interesting. We have friends who really like it. Virgin and Viking Ocean look interesting too. However, the Virgin itineraries are still not very interesting to me. Maybe a New Years Eve one. Viking Ocean has a lot of really long itineraries, which look really cool, but kind of expensive with that much time. Nothing planned beyond our current Beyond in about 1.5 weeks and a Disney on the Wish during xmas.
  5. I don't remember that at all (hides). I did work on the power management for some of the processors in those. However, it was determined to be the battery. Talk about a sigh of relief on my part.
  6. If the submission site isn't working, just send an email to RCL. They let me submit via email. I got some error message about no space or something full, even before I tried to attach the documents. It's like their voicemail box filled up😂
  7. On a Bermuda cruise, with the proper socks, it really should be allowed.
  8. No offense, but this isn't about "I'm not getting my way. I'm going somewhere else." for some people. Some of us are extremely allergic to this stuff or have other health issues that are affected by smoking/vaping. If you booked a cruise thinking there would be none of this inside, and then suddenly, you get on the ship and it's there, it could be a serious health issue. It's one thing to book something knowing that it's allowed in the casino and/or on balconies and then to complain. It's another for such a serious change without previous notification. It's not like they changed a dish in the dining room. It also would be unacceptable for this to become a random policy, where you don't know if your cruise will have inside smoking/vaping or not.
  9. It appears that Virgin strictly enforces their smoking/vaping rules. We were on the June 5 cruise. It was amazing! We like DCL, but Celebrity is a better option for us when our son doesn't go and has better pricing and perks for suites. We will probably still do DCL some after our son goes off to college next year, since we still have friends who only cruise DCL. Love that there is no casino and very little smoking on DCL though.
  10. Sent my email yesterday. I expressed that we may need to move to Virgin, who seems to enforce their smoking/vaping rules pretty strictly. I am allergic to cigarette smoke. Not sure about vaping smoke, since I haven't been exposed to it as much. I live in a fairly smoke free city. I have read that some people are allergic to the vape smoke, because some of it contains the same chemicals as fog machines. I have a good friend that is allergic to fog machines.
  11. What I find funny is that anytime anyone asks about formal night, several people will state that no one dresses up, people wear shorts and t-shirts, and you shouldn't bother packing nice clothes. I can sort of see how people are confused. I just discovered that RCL still says that formal wear is required in the MDRs for formal nights on their website. However, it seems in practice that is not what happens anymore. So, again, the stated policy for RCL isn't what happens in practice; could be true for X if you are a first timer or haven't been in a while. People keep complaining that X is turning into RCL. Yes, we do dress up for dinner every night and especially nice for "evening chic" nights.
  12. My adult friends did a Disney cruise to Bonaire. They visited the donkey sanctuary and really liked it.
  13. I remember seeing something about this, but I can't remember where. I did find a Cruise Critic thread and a corporate page for Celebrity that mentions these "family suites" where one room is a suite and the connecting room is not. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2562137-connecting-cabins-on-the-edge-lots-of-interesting-options/ https://www.celebritycorporatekit.com/content/uploads/2017/07/Edge_Fact_Sheet.pdf
  14. I am trying to figure out how many people in the dining rooms are part of the tip. We will be in Luminae. I like to write a personal thank you note to everyone and include additional tip. I need to know how much stationary to bring. Also, does anyone know what the gratuity breakdown is per employee? Thanks
  15. It was probably just due to high seas or weather, but I am not the person who posted.
