    The MDR is hardly open for lunch. Now I'd be VERY upset to not have it open for breakfast. That is ridiculous. All 1000 people are going to go to the lido or have room service I guess. That's just wrong.

    Me personally I would not make final payment on that. It’s way too risky unless it becomes much clearer by then. I’m not holding my breath on that one.

    You are not cooking for cruise passengers. I assume no one pays to eat at your home either 😉.

    When someone says that it’s not worthwhile to complain about food they are discounting the experience of others. If a person is in the pinnacle and they get a steak full of gristle that is not subjective. No one wants that. If you want to pay for that go ahead. Cruise lines will love you.

    I bet tons of stuff is made ahead. I like the passion fruit with yougart for breakfast. It has chia seeds and sometimes seeds aren’t my friend. I asked if they could leave them out. Nope. Usually I would scrape as much as I could off. Some mornings it was like ice had formed under the lake of seeds. It’s not something I would expect to be frozen.

    Got that right! Clearly some folks never worked for a corporation. NO corporation is transparent. Every person is not entitled to know everything they wish.

    This is 100% reason why I use flight ease. Let it be their problem. I never book non refundable hotels. That's just asking for trouble. Way to many risks, especially now.

    Thanks for the information. There is no way I'd book a cruise on the volendam unless payment was far away. Too risky because I bet this will go on for a while.

    If Hal cancelled your cruise why didn't you get your money back? Are you saying they refused to refund your money? Prices are quite high. Maybe because they are giving away too many free cruises to others.

    I’ve gotten nowhere lately. My last cruise went down about $800. They told me they’d could give me a beverage card for $100 but I’d have to give up my free gratuities because the new price didn’t include them. I didn’t take them up on it. It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten anything but that just might have been my pcc not trying. Hope the op has better luck.

    Isn’t celebrity much higher priced than hal? As far as club orange goes I don’t think that club orange was supposed to be like lumina. I’ve cruised a few times on celebrity and the food in the mdr was not great. No wonder they have to have a special restaurant for suites.

    Yes, the survey is still sent. I know some people on ships read the boards. The lovely hostess in club orange (her name escapes me right now) told me that she read cruise critic often. Not sure if Seattle does.

    Why would people lie about it? Just for giggles I tried a couple dates in may and June Friday to Sunday for check out. Finally found something in June for $540 cdn. That is still ridiculous. Maybe some people are not made of money and $450 usd isn’t chump change. If it works for you great but no way I’d pay it.

    $540 cdn is at least $700 cdn. I hope they sill empty for that.

    No. There is no way I’d pay $800. If I were to get a stupid cheap deal this summer on an Alaskan cruise I think I’d roll the dice and fly in the same day. I’m reasonably close and there are many flights per day to Vancouver. If I miss the cruise I miss the cruise. I’m not paying $800 or anything close to that.

    Op paid for her cruise. If you don't complain about food it will never get better. Some people will eat anything. Doesn't mean it's good.

    Me either. I know for some McDonalds is special so go figure. I will eat some fast food for sure but it won't be burgers and fries.

    It looked to me like it was Alaska but I just saw it on Facebook. Edited to say it does look like other cruises are included looking at the hal site
