  1. You will love it! Lots of great spaces to sit and hang out too. We liked to play cards in the Vista lounge when it wasn't being used. So much more I could have mentioned but can't edit my post now.
  2. You are correct, the tender line was long in Newport, however I thought we would be waiting forever and ALL of the passengers waiting in the line fit on the tender that was waiting so it was actually pretty quick! And I'm with you, we were at the buffet at like 6:30 AM which was very quite and not crowded so I enjoyed that!
  3. The shows were packed every night so you had to get there early. We ate at 5:30 so always got right in, I saw others waiting inline at 6:45/7:00ish. Main shows were: Comedian Robbie Printz, Production Show 5 Skies, Production Show Spotlight Bar, Comedy Again (twice but different material), "Gals & Dolls" with Hannah Howie, vocalist from Scotland), and another production show on the last night called Rock Opera. There was another female vocalist that we did not see and for some reason I did not bring that patter home!
  4. Hi All, I'm just off the Enchanted princess (New England/Canada) and spent many hours reading all of the great information on cruise critic prior to my trip so I thought I'd share in return. Transportation from LGA to Brooklyn- used Carmel limo, very reasonable and if you download the APP you save an additional $6 each way. I paid $36.50 + tip each way for 2 adults and 2 suitcases plus carry-on backpacks. Embarkation- Super fast, was on the ship within 20 minutes of arriving at the Brooklyn cruise terminal. We had boarding group A at 11AM and were 45 minutes late and walked right on the ship. (I was not platinum or Elite at the time). Lunch- We opted to hit GIGI's up immediately instead of going to our cabins, it was empty and had an amazing lunch there! I think it's kind of a secret on embarkation day! Went to our cabins directly after and they were ready. My sister and I both booked single inside cabins side by side. Cabin- Riviera deck R233 and R227 directly next to one another. The cabins were inside cabins and were very nice for solo travelers or couples. I would consider them a little tight for 3 people in my opinion. Lots of storage room though! The only downside was we kept hearing toilets flushing and a banging noise and came to realize that there was a storage area right next to cabin R233 which wasn't clear on the deck plans. Food- Was amazing in my opinion! We did not do any specialty restaurants and didn't feel the need to. Every meal in the dining room was delicious! All seafood and steaks were great! I thought the dessert in the dining room was the best (way better than the desserts you find in the IC or buffet area). Also, we rotated dining rooms each night. I strategically planned the AFT 6 dining room on the nights we were in port late and the mid ship dining rooms when we were moving so less motion. International Cafe was very nice and had lots of options (more than when I was on the Majestic last year). Also, we had 5:30 dinner reservations each night and never had to wait. We were typically done around 6:45 and it seems like there were lines around then so if you don't want to wait I would eat earlier. Ports- We did not book any tours except in Bar Harbor but that port was cancelled due to weather. Really enjoyed Newport, took the free city bus (67) around and did the Cliff Walk and then got lucky because there was a Seafood festival going on last week so was able to try some local eats. Boston- walked from the ship to Quincy Market, about 2 miles but very doable if you are used to walking that far. From there, had a great lobster melt at Quincy Market and walked the Freedom Trail with some stops along the way to get Cannoli's that were amazing! By late afternoon it started to rain so we hopped on the SL2 (Silverline bus) from the transportation center back to the Black Falcon cruise terminal. It was $2.40 PP one-way. Lots of really nice locals helped us figure out how to use the public transportation system so we didn't get soaked walking the 2 miles back to the ship. Rerouted to Sydney, NS instead of Saint John last week- not much to say there except that the locals were super nice and we managed to spend 3 hours walking around down the boardwalk, going into shops, history museum, etc. Halifax was awesome- do not miss the city gardens, the flowers were still blooming and so so pretty! From there, walk to the Citadel National Site and spend some time there and then back down to the boardwalk for the Maritime Museum and lots of good food choices along the boardwalk. We spent about 5 hours doing those 3 things and were exhausted 25,000 steps later. All very inexpensive if you can walk and do it on your own without booking tours. Some great shopping right inside the Halifax cruise terminal so save that for last so you don't have to carry everything with you. 🙂 Entertainment on Ship- Loved all of the nightly shows in the Princess theater. They are super popular so you have to arrive 20-30 minutes early. If you come 15 minutes ahead you will find very random seats left or in the middle of the row. Lots of trivia in Princess Live but not my thing so we only did that once or twice. Misc- My sister had the princess plus beverage package and is typically pretty picky about her wines. She found plenty to choose from and enjoyed the recommendations the staff normally made. She found the Rose to be the best and had a really good prosecco nightly too. Overall, the service was excellent, food was really good, staff seemed happy and in my opinion it was overall a really great week! I'm ready to plan my next trip!
  5. Eat at 5:30 and you will never have to wait. I just got off the Enchanted and picked a different dining room each night. I intentionally scheduled the deck 6 AFT dining room when we were in port late and picked the mid ship dining rooms when I knew we were moving so less motion. Service was great in all 3 so no issues there.
  6. In another post someone said it's now available in the buffet area as self-service. That however isn't open 24 hours a day so if you want tea at anytime the coffee package is your best bet since IC is open 24 hrs a day.
  7. In another post there is now hot water and tea bags available in the buffet area for free. I don't believe this opens until 6:30AM so if you want tea earlier or later the IC coffee card might be the best route as that is open 24 hours. I was on the majestic last fall and tea/hot water wasn't available for self service (nothing was) but I know that restrictions have loosened up a bit now.
  8. Thank you! Yes, I put my travel information into the APP. Flight doesn't leave LaGuardia until 12:40PM so we don't need a super early time but then again I had no idea how long it actually takes to get off the ship and through customs, etc. so your information is helpful.
  9. Anyone know at what point can you select your debarkation time? I don't know when to schedule my transportation pick-up after the cruise (using Carmel Limo). I don't recall if this is in the Medallion APP or you fill out paperwork and give it to your cabin steward or customer service. Any insight would be appreciated! Thank you!
  10. I was debating on the coffee package, I really don't drink coffee, maybe an occasional latte so if tea is available elsewhere I'm not sure it's worth spending the money on the coffee package. On the other hand, it's only $36 (or something like that) and at least I know you can get tea, coffee, fancy coffee's anytime I want and don't have to look too hard for it. 😀
  11. As others have noted, you "should" be able to purchase on the APP. I however updated my app to the latest version the other day and it wouldn't allow me to buy in the APP, the option is there but the purchase button doesn't work. I called princess direct and they took care of it for me.
  12. Does anyone know if hot water and tea bags are available in the buffet/World fresh marketplace now? Last year on the Majestic I purchased the coffee package just so I can get tea on demand. Now that self service restrictions in the buffet area are being loosened I'm wondering if it's available now. Any insight from recent cruisers would be appreciated, I'll be on the Enchanted in a few weeks! Thank you!
  13. Does anyone know if hot tea is available at the buffet now? I typically purchase the coffee package for this reason because last year they did not have any self service for coffee or tea at the buffet. Wondering if things have changed this year... AND, they don't even mention tea in the coffee package description anymore. TIA!
  14. Yep, I just checked and couldn't complete a purchase. Maybe if I call direct, I really don't need them right now, I've got $300 left from my last purchase and that will probably cover my shipboard account on my October cruise.
  15. I have heard these are slightly larger as well at 175sq ft. I booked R233 and R227 on the Enchanted. My sister and I are both solo travelers and the price was right so they should be perfectly adequate for us!
  16. We had the 4-device plan on the Majestic to Alaska and had no issues, this was last year but it rained all week and weather was bad and we still had no issues connecting 3 phones and one laptop.
  17. I've been looking as well! I bought $4,000 worth last year through All State at 15% off but they only have Carnival, Celebrity, and Royal C this year!
  18. This is all very good insight, thank you for posting this! Just out of curiousity, can UBER's and Private car services get into the area to pick up passengers going back to the airport? Or is the immediate area reserved for princess shuttles? I booked a private car service from LGA to the Brooklyn terminal but have nor booked return transportation yet.
  19. How did you choose your pick-up time after your cruise? I'm not able to choose a debarkation time yet so it's hard to schedule a car pick-up yet... I'm not sure how last minute they will accept reservations..
  20. We (a family of 3 with a 19 yr old teenager) had a obstructed balcony deluxe on the Majestic last year. The teenager was 5'9 and had no issues. My only complaint is that when the soft is pulled out there is literally no room to navigate to the balcony without crawling over the bed. So in the morning when the kid was still asleep I was crawling over him to get out on the balcony. I wish we had taken the mini suite as there is more room also between the pull out sofa and twin/queen beds. But definitely the sofa is acceptable for the week. Also, our cabin steward did all the work so we were never opening it up and putting it back together. Have fun!
  21. Just out of curiosity, did you book your return transfer from Brooklyn to LGA yet? I'm not able to pick my debarkation time yet so wasn't sure how to schedule the return trip...
  22. We are on the Enchanted October 15th, would love to know who you are using for the car service. I'm not in favor of Princess transfers and our flight gets into LGA at 9:30AM. Thank you!
