  1. Did you by chance look at the price prior to getting on-board to upgrade? I'm curious because my cruise personalizer is saying $540 right now to upgrade to princess plus for 10-nights which is actually LESS than $60 a day. I also want to upgrade once onboard but I'm afraid it will then be $600 instead of $540. I have several hundred dollars of shipboard credit I'd like to apply so that's why I'm stalling to purchase...
  2. I would like to know this as well, my cruise personalizer is actually showing less than $60 a day for the plus package right now- $540USD for 10days so I'm afraid the price will go up once I'm on the ship! I also have several hundred in shipboard credit and princess gift cards that I would like to use to pay for it instead of my credit card.
  3. Yes, agree! I'm hoping it's the same price once I get on the ship so I can use my shipboard credit plus princess gift cards I have to pay for this. I should take a screenshot and print it to bring with me!
  4. I'd like to do this to upgrade to princess plus but wasn't able to. I've got $410 shipboard credit and want to use it to upgrade but was told by the chat agent I can't do that. 😞
  5. That's fine, I was just surprised because I thought it was $60 per day so my assumption was it would be $600 per person but my cruise personalizer is showing $540PP to upgrade for 10-nights.
  6. With all of the changes announced last week, I'm considering upgrading to Princess Plus. I checked my cruise personalizer and it showed $1,080 USD for two people to upgrade (I was expecting it to be $1200 even) so I'm wondering if the difference is because I'm eligible for the 50% off WIFI? I'm not complaining that it is less but was wondering in general if that benefit can even be applied when you have the princess plus package. In addition, I have shipboard credit right now so IF I do this it probably won't be until day 1 when I board. Any insights would be appreciated!
  7. Wonder if I will get charged now for calling room service to do this???? I am under the Princess Standard
  8. This sounds awesome, thank you for sharing! Is the Albert dock relatively close? I'm asking because we have one younger child and one older person with some mobility issues but walking a few blocks at a time is totally doable.
  9. What did you do in Liverpool, we haven't officially planned anything yet so open to suggestions? I was looking at the Beatles Mystery Bus Tour or maybe the HOHO bus. We have a mixed group of ages so not everyone is into the Beatles but it still looks interesting..
  10. I'm on the regal princess September 29th-October 10th and we are stopping in Liverpool. (or at least I hope we are!)
  11. I'm also on this cruise and just booked the NOX Waterloo London ($250 night USD). It's very close to the Waterloo train station. I also booked the train that goes direct from Waterloo to Southampton for Friday morning. Hour and 15 min to Southampton by train. Using an Uber to get from Heathrow to the hotel on Thursday the 28th.
  12. I looked at both of these also but then decided on the NOX Waterloo because of the prices, having a refrigerator, and right by the train station that goes to Southampton.
  13. If you each have your own email accounts you should be able to do this, we had two separate bookings and my dad bought half the gift cards and I bought the other half to pay off the $6,134 balance. It worked great!
  14. Run to Alfredo's on embarkation day, it's the best and people don't always realize you can eat there right away after you board.
  15. I just did this cruise with my sister this past October, our ports changed slighly due to weather so I'll share some of what we did. We are pretty active so whenever possible we opted to walk. In Newport, we walked to the public transportation center which is just one block left of where the cruise tenders in. From there, we hopped on the FREE bus and got off near the Cliff Walk. We walked most of it and caught the free bus back. We actually rode that for awhile so it made the entire loop and were able to see many of the mansions (you can see back sides from the Cliff Walk). The week we visited Newport there was also an amazing seafood festival right in town so we spend several hours there enjoying food and coctails and shopping the local stores. In Boston, we walked to Quincy Market (about 2 miles) and enjoyed some great food there and did some shopping at the local shops. From there, we walked about 1/2 of the Freedom Trail. Do not miss the bakeries in Little Italy, brought some amazing cannoli's back to the ship. It started raining pretty hard about mid-afternoon so we found the boston transportation center and took the bus back to the ship for something like $2. The locals were super helpful as this was my first time to boston and I really had no idea how to get around on public transportation but the bus literally dropped off us at the ship. In Halifax we walked first to the public garden, in my opinion this is a must stop. It was so beautiful the 3rd week of October, so many flowers still in bloom and just a really nice place to walk around. After that, we walked to the Citadel and purchased tickets to tour that and see the cannon firing which was at noon. Price was very reasonable for the 2 hours we spent there. After that we walked about 4-6 block down towards the water (Citadel is basically at the highest point of the city). We found lunch right off one of the piers at one of the food carts- there were many set-up and it was a quick stop as we really didn't want a long sit down meal. After lunch we hit up the Halifax Maritime Museum which was also very nice and only about $10 pp for the entrance fee. There was a nice exhibit about the titanic on the inside but the outside replica was closed for the season. The boardwalk in Halifax is really nice and an enjoyable walk if the weather is good.
  16. Halifax is a great stop! We first walked to the public gardens which surprisingly had so many flowers still in bloom middle of October, then to the Citadel, and then walked down to the boardwalk area and hit the Maritime museum and several food vendors right on the boardwalk. I loved that the city is very walkable and all of the stops we made were inexpensive. In addition, the cruise terminal area had some really nice shops to grab souvenirs before going back on the ship.
  17. Here's the link, there were like 3 ramen choices and then typically one or two specials each day. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ships/products/dining-included/chopsticks-noodle-bar.html Yes, you can do some customization based on what you like.
  18. Same here, wish I was still on the ship! And I'm kind of jealous of the FB posts I see from the people that went to Bar Harbor yesterday, it looked like a cute little town! Oh well, now I need to plan an east coast driving trip up to Bar Harbor.
  19. Yes, we thought so! Was on the Majestic last August for Alaska and this place was a nice treat!
  20. I was just on the Enchanted last week, they do not have the pink sugar packets out but they DO have them, just ask for several at a time.
  21. The casino didn't smell like smoke, however there was an odor of perfume or Febreze that was always there (probably trying to mask the smoke smell).
  22. I didn't see it on the Enchanted last week and definitely made my rounds to all the shop daily. They were running 15% off in every shop. I did notice that some items got markdown 1/2 way through and bought a large carry-on tote that was originally $134 at the start of the cruise and then markdown 1/2 way through to $79.99 plus an additional 15% off.
  23. I had no problems throughout the ship and was switching between my personal and work phone during the week. The only area it's really sketchy is at the front of the ship in the princess theatre, basically non-existent there but I didn't need it anyway. I do think weather and location can definitely be factors though for each individual experience.
