  1. We got a shopping map for our port. Second or third for the cruise. We are here with the Nieuw Amsterdam today. A Medical Emergency was declared for deck 6 about 20 minutes ago.
  2. Good morning from Saint Maarten. The Nieuw Amsterdam beat us here, very windy. Feeling much better today. I didn't sleep, almost hallucinating due to massive loading dose of Prednisone. Cough came back at 4:30 am when my 5:30pm pill wore off.
  3. Today's Daily. Drinks are the same. We are catching up on the last half on the Tampa Eagles game we missed on ESPN right now. Very windy here today.
  4. It is really good even the all day menu. You can order off the MDR menu too before the kitchen opens.
  5. Good morning from near St. Maarten. I am back on my game after starting Prednisone yesterday, it helps quell my cough but there is little sleep with it. I think it was our upstairs neighbors that walk around swiftly all hours of the night started playing music. Not loud enough to know the tune but loud enough to be bothersome. It was 3:38. I just got up and put on my vintage Sony noise cancelling headphones. In about a half hour the noise of the pilot boat became noticeable. We are four aft. Lots of engine noise and then the Azipods started up about 20 minutes later so I took my headphones off, ship noise expected. Once things got quieter with the engines I couldn't hear the music and I hope neighbors on deck 6 or nextdoor complain. Many photos of room service from the last several days.
  6. I am up sitting in a chair for the first time except to eat so I can begin to get caught up. My fever is staying in the 98 degrees range and I started Prednisone for my paroxysmal cough. It has begun to help after only 2 doses. As promised here is yesterday's daily activities. Note the happy hour info.
  7. Good afternoon just checking in to comment I am sick with a respiratory virus probably RSV because I tested negative for the other two. We are both confined to cabin, I knew I was but John went to the Neptune Lounge to cancel a shore excursion at 7am and he grabbed me some pastry we got the letter 45 minutes later. John is fine, I am getting better slowly. Just started on Prednisone to stop the terrible cough. This is the same illness I have had many times it just has had different names.
  8. I am somewhat among the living. In medical I got a flu test negative so they ran the more accurate PCR test again negative. Temperature 101 when my normal is 97.4. I was given Tylenol to take every 4-6 hours. Last check was 98.2. I am more awake but we cancelled our shore excursion in St. Johns two days from now. I can't guess how I will recover, sometimes it takes a week. We did get all the football games so far. I will get the Daily activities later today.
  9. This thread will be quiet for a day or two. I am stuck in bed with no energy, typing this is tiring. I already did a COVID test and I am negative. Bone pain, cough, mild headache points to flu. No sneezing or sniffles. Even with the vaccine I would get it every year until COVID started and I was so careful. Going to medical for a test and hopefully Tamiflu.
  10. @0106 not much I could help with, we were barely back on board before the new passengers were coming aboard. I brought my Scrabble like game that helped in the sick ward group in the World Stage. If you have health issues I would ask to be allowed to sit away from the crowd.
  11. When they were announcing guest leaving the ship several shore excursions were announced, probably for people with late flights but doing one during in transit day may be possible. Check your shore excursions in Fort Lauderdale.
  12. There are also a martini hour offer in the Tamarind bar where they will make many kinds for a reduced price. It is a pretty bar in the evening. 🍸
  13. Please go ahead if you would like. More eyes see more. We are getting the paywall Chiefs Dolphins game tonight. Thanks HAL! 🏈. All games covered.
  14. Last night we had dinner in the Pinnacle Grill. We arrived a bit early and were seated at 5:20, place was almost full. I think lots of HIA users and 5 stars increased the pressure on the restaurant. It seemed they were running out of food. My lobster bisque was a short pour and thin. John ordered scallops and asparagus. The scallops looked like an appetizer portion. The asparagus was 5 or 6 pieces of very thin asparagus. My ribeye was huge and perfectly cooked. Flavor was wonderful. We got our appetizers in about 30 minutes then the waiting began. We had already been through two glasses of wine during our wait. At 6:30 I suggested we bail out and head to the Lido. John says give it 5. Waiter had already told us soon, just waiting on John's scallops. We finally got our meal at 6:40 and I insisted they comp us some wine because our dinner was so late which they did times 2. That means 4 glasses of wine during the whole process. John tried the Celsius Sauvignon Blanc again and I tried it and it was decent. Maybe a fresher shipment. A very long night, I am going to change all my reservations to 5:00 and never last night of a voyage.
  15. The PH will be a coming story. We will have to do in transit three more times. Today's menu.
  16. Back on board after lengthy in transit process. 389 counting contractors. Nothing like being in a closely seated auditorium with a bunch of phlegmy coughers. 🤯 Keto lunch in the Lido strip loin and fried chicken.
  17. Back onboard waiting for Lido to open. 389 in transit today. No keys for our cabin, the steward said go to Guest Services, fat chance. We saw them loading supplies, maybe they will take on asparagus too. John's entire bowl last night. He did cut it half before the photo.
  18. We are enjoying coffee in the Neptune Lounge waiting to go to the World Stage at 9 to go through in-transit procedures. I hope everyone understands it is for them too. A full ship showed its colors at the Pinnacle Grill last night. We had our comped dinner at.5:30. Our entrees arrived at 6:40. I think they were running out of lobster bisque because it was a short pour and thinner than normal. They must have been running low on scallops because they were so small they looked like appetizer sized. I was so hungry I ate a whole bread stick which I avoid because I do Keto. All that being said the rib eye was better than the dry aged one I paid extra for earlier in the week.
  19. I got all the way to Michigan Secretary of State office and they refused my MD Driver's license I had to go home and get my passport. Who knows what people do with no passport, I guess the even more elusive birth certificate.
  20. Our map for this week completed. It was a wee bit too small to cover Mexico and Central America. More stickers early next week! The Gaffers tape worked perfectly almost too well, it took 10 minutes to get it off but didn't leave a mark on the door. Saturday I will rehang it with 4 times less tape.
  21. Tonight's MDR menu. Missing a favorite Weiner Schnitzel tonight because of our comped PG dinner. No harm no foul because the menu repeats regularly.
  22. Chicken curry in Lido today paired with pork in peanut sauce. 😋
