  1. For National Cat Day my two girls RIP. First their favorite past time at the cabin - watching the chipmunks and the second my Lidia getting ready for the Ravens to beat the Bengals.
  2. Good morning everyone. Thanks for the fleet reports Rich. We are hermits at our cabin, I will always celebrate National Cat Day and for a while I suffered from psoriasis. It was strange I developed it because I was already on the drug they use to treat it for my arthritis. It was minor and finally it just went away. I hope there are some photos of today's port. Today's meal would be better with pork as mustard and apples are great with braised pork. Pass on today's cocktail but today's Paso Robles wine would be great. I am looking forward to photos of today's port. We have not been there. Vanessa, thanks for keeping us abreast of challenges and celebrations for our group. So good to read that Baby Murphy has had better news. Prayers for everyone in our group needing them. Prayers for those in war zones for no choice of their own, Israel, Ukraine, the hostages and the innocents in Gaza. @Haljo1935 Bon Voyage! 🍾 Today we are going to wash out the back gutters before retiring the hose. I wanted to get it done yesterday but John wants to do the gutters first. They are not full but one corner is leaking at the corner seams. I guess it is a trial to really find the leak. John's game is early and then we will pack up and head to the casino to get the Ravens game. Internet is a severe problem here so we can't cough up the money to stream the NFL on YouTube. I got my tulips in yesterday! It was easy other than trying to avoid the other hidden bulbs in the bed. @seagarsmoker thanks for your photos from the Eurodam. Please keep them coming. We have an port side aft Neptune on Deck four for our winter cruise. @grapau27 Care sent your way on the 17th anniversary of your dear Mam's passing. Have a nice Sunday! Nancy
  3. @cruising sister Thanks for sharing the encouraging news about Baby Murphy.
  4. Good morning everyone! Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports @richwmn. I have been enjoying more chocolate than normal with the Atkins low carb bars, cheers to the Statue of Liberty. I still have a few plush animals including my mid-50s chimp named Zippy. I have never been to Long Beach. I'll drink to the failure of the Volstead Act, what a mess that caused. They could ban alcohol but nothing about military guns to kill many people quickly. I will pass on today's pasta, I would try the cocktail but prefer my bourbon neat. I would try the Riserva of today's Chianti. Thanks for the Cares and Celebrations reports @JazzyV. I hope that you are feeling some relief from your back and leg issues. @RMLincolnI am happy to hear the needed paperwork has arrived and passes muster. @smitty34877 prayers that the antibiotics are working for Tana's pneumonia. Prayers for everyone having family members in the hospital or healing at home. Prayers for the people suffering in war zones in Israel, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Prayers for the safety and return of the hostages. I have already been to Walmart and put everything away. It is a beautiful sunny day but nothing like the 70s we had the last few days. They were rainy. I will get to 50 today so the tulip bulbs will get planted into warm soil, the hose retired for the season because on Halloween we may see snow flurries. The brisket cooked quickly yesterday, I forgot how much faster things cook with convection and in an oven bag. We have enough for a simple dinner tonight of brisket sandwiches with horseradish sauce. We are stuck going to the casino tomorrow because my Raven's game is not televised in our area. Enjoy the warm weather all of you in the East, this cold weather that @ger_77is experiencing is rolling in here tonight and heading your way. Have a nice Saturday! Nancy
  5. Roy @rafinmd. So sorry to hear of the deaths in your congregation.
  6. I got the survey also. I complained ona Grand Voyage they had nothing special to sell with the cruise and the dates available. Nothing. Nothing other than paper to celebrate our GSA.
  7. Our new oven was installed yesterday and it works great. I had gone to Costco for my eye exam and found they had $2.99 briskets so I bought one to christen the new oven. It is already done resting in foil. Since I was bothered about not seeing my GSA photos I pulled out my little Toshiba backup drive and they were there so that is a big relief. This is my favorite. Two of these coupes in the photos became our specialty dinner buddies for a lot of the cruise.
  8. We had an accident on our HA tour bus. Fender bender for the little vehicle and a scratch for the bus.
  9. January 14 part 2 Incan ruins by the sea. We had a nice drive along the coast through the wealthy Miraflores district. Local trash pick up by bicycle as we made our ways to Miraflores.
  10. Callao is the port for Lima. No matter when you go it will be about an hour ride each direction due to traffic. We did two HA Shorex, one for a dinner in the oldest house in the city and the other to a museum, a ruins and to a Peruvian Paso farm for lunch. This is from January 13 when we visited Plaza de las Armas and then walked to the mansion. Somehow I can't find the interior photos of photos of Casa de Aliaga. It has me bugged so it will be my project today to find them.
  11. Good morning everyone and Happy Friday! I like black cats and have owned a lot of cats but never had a black one. We will celebrate beer day with a glass of Kirkland Brunello. My DBIL retired from the Navy after being a deep sea diver most of his career. A true quote. We had been to Callao in January this year. I will share some photos. I will pass on the cauliflower dish, I hate it when cooked. I will pass on the cocktail but today's wine looks like a winner. Thanks for updating us each day Vanessa! @mamaofami I am so glad that Sam is home and your extended struggle to get him there. @Cruzin Terri so sorry your husband fell, thankfully no bones broken. Prayers for everyone needing them in our group. Prayers for those in war zones, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the Israeli hostages and innocents in the line of fire. Prayers for the people grieving in Maine. @grapau27 Happy Birthday! 🎂 @Norseh2o Bon Voyage! 🍾
  12. Good Thursday morning. Deepest sympathy to the families of the dead and those affected in the Lewiston mass murder. Let's hope law enforcement gets him soon. Thanks for the daily and fleet reports @richwmn. We should celebrate our deployed each day and pray that we don't need to send them into battle any further than what they are. Thanks for providing us extra insight into our days Graham. A fun quote. I have been binge watching last year's Gilded Age on Max and the quote fits perfectly for that show. I look forward to the photos of Oban today, they make a whisky that I like and would love to visit sometime. Today's soup will be another to put on the back burner for after Thanksgiving. Today's cocktail looks fun for a hot day on a BHB and today's SB also looks like a winner. Prayers for Vanessa, I sure hope that you can get some relief for your back and leg pain. @RMLincoln glad to hear the good report from your realtor and I hope that you hear back from the attorney at your new community pronto. Prayers for Baby Murphy and her family, thanks for the update @cruising sister. Prayers for healing for your DB. Prayers for all in war zones - Israel, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Praying for the release of the hostages. Today is very warm for late October and rainy. The new double oven was delivered by Costco already and the installation crew is coming between 3 and 4pm. Communication with Costco has been seamless. On top of that I have a Costco eye appointment at 2 pm. I am running out of my dry eye drops so will need a new Rx. Hopefully I don't hear I have cataracts or need glasses. At this point I don't think so. We have a cool sunny day before the weather turns on Saturday and I will get my tulips planted. very easy because the soil is soft and I have a drill attachment to dig the holes. Hardest part is what color to plant where. Have a lovely Thursday. Nancy
  13. We were in a regular NS that time. I think we had read about the plight of the Konigsdam there and we were worried about getting out. I think we were on a 10 day because John was unsure if he would like sailing too long and after being on "forced march" on his previous cruise with friends. We purposely did nothing but once we got into the HA vibe we haven't looked back. I guess the fog will keep HA away from Tampa and with rising sea levels the bridge will become even more problematic. A great city to sail out of.
  14. A few photos of Castries environs. We have never done any off ship tours at the port but we will probably get a taxi tour this winter. The first four photos were from our Nieuw Statendam March 2022. We always dine on our balcony at sailaway when we have a NS. I don't know if we will do it so much coming up on the Eurodam because our favorite waiter Aframe will be on the ship and will try eat in his area a lot, we got to know him on the Volendam. The final 5 are from John's and my first cruise together and it was on the old Rotterdam out of Tampa and visited on 2/17/2019. St. Lucia is one of our favorite ports because of the slow spins that the captain does to view the Pitons and we have been blessed with great weather and the second is listening to the roosters crowing as we sail in during the early morning hours. Ship in port with us is the Konigsdam. Have a lovely day! Nancy
  15. Roy @rafinmd so sorry about the run around in your treatment and that a PET scan is in your future.
  16. Good morning and Happy Hump Day! I will pass on today's days. A wonderful and very meaning quote by JK Rowling. A fit for the world we live in today. I have been to Castries three times and will be there again twice this winter. I look forward to Debbie's meatball recipes, a favorite and a great to go with our Natl. Pasta day shared by Sandi. I always thought that today's cocktail was a dog. I love the dog. I will pass on today's wine. Prayers for everyone on our care list today. Thinking of everyone going through so many life events that are difficult. Prayers for all in war zones and innocent suffering from hate by others or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, the people of Israel, the people of Ukraine and the innocents in the way in Gaza. Prayers that the hostages will be released. Happy Anniversary @seagarsmoker! 🍾
  17. @smitty34877 I am sorry to read about Tana's pneumonia. Continued prayers for her and your family. Please take care of yourself during all of these trials.
  18. One drawback of the retreat cabanas have is the wind when the ship in underway. We have decided it wasn't worth the money because if we wanted to eat up there it had to be in the cabana with the flapping canvas. An aft Neptune Suite will be out of the wind and a full sized dining table. Being aft you will be closer to the galley and the chances of getting hot food is better too.
  19. Good morning. Thanks for the daily reports @richwmn. I used to like bologna but I am afraid it has been 50 years since I ate it the last time, too many other options these days. A great quote by Einstein. We have not been to Guadeloupe, I don't think it is a common stop for HA. Pass on all three comestibles today. Thanks for researching these for us each day. Thanks for the Cares and Celebrations reports LP @JazzyV. I hope you are getting relief with the epidural. Prayers for everyone experiencing health issues and for their caregivers. Prayers continuing for Baby Murphy and her family. Prayers for the innocent people in the war zones of Israel, Ukraine and Gaza. It will be almost 70 today with some sun so we are heading north to get some leaf peeping in. We had a frost Sunday night so the leaf colors should really pop with some sunlight. Have a nice day. Nancy
  20. @Overhead Fred Happy birthday! 🍾🎂. Happy anniversary @SeaSickSailor! 🍾🎂
  21. @superoma I think your roses will be just fine in the sheltered area, no burlap wrap required. @aliaschief bon Voyage! 🍾🛳️
  22. Good morning everyone. Thanks for the daily reports Rich. No MIL to celebrate to today, @grapau27 thanks for straightening me out about today's mole day, I thought it was the pesky lawn creatures. A fun quote from Jim Carrey. I look forward to photos of today's port. Chicken soup sounds good today, it was 32 in Kalamazoo this morning and I see frost on the lawn so hot soup would be good. Pass on today's cocktail, never was a fan of sour apple flavors. The Oregon wine looks like a winner. Thanks for researching these for us each day. Prayers for everyone on our care list. There are so many dealing with complications in their lives so prayers for them. Prayers for those living in was zones - Israel, Ukraine and Gaza. I had a great afternoon watching football as the Ravens put on a good game and thumped Detroit. So many Detroit blue jerseys in the stands I am sure my tickets probably landed in a Detroit fans hands though I was paid well for them. We are doing a free overnight at a nearby casino tonight. We can watch John's Viking's game on the big screens. I forgot my credit card in the restaurant a week ago and this will also serve to get my card back otherwise we would be sitting at home tonight. @Heartgrove Jack, thanks for sharing the photos of pretty Lily. Have a nice day. Nancy
