  1. I had been trying to figure this out as well, prior to an Edge sailing the end of June. It was listed as the ‘double sofa bed’ and it is the trundle bed, BUT if there are three of you I think it will work well. They pull the mattress out from lower bed and place in on top of couch and it becomes a comfortable twin bed. An advantage of this style vs. the pullout sleeper sofas is more space when in use as a bed. Here is the link for my earlier post. My last post includes picture of the couch in bed mode and there is also another link in one of the responses showing the trundle as four-person setup. 2. Ship: Edge Cabin #: 11120 Deck #: 11 Cabin Category: Sky Suite, accessible Cabin Location: Port forward Bed Position: Right wall BalconyType: Regular Balcony/Window Size: Larger because of extra width of Accessible Suite Balcony/Window View/Obstruction: None Balcony Overhang?: Normal, but wider overhang next floor up. Magic Carpet Issues?: N/A Noise Issues?: None Wind Issues?: None Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: N/A Suite Details: Best accessible cabin we have ever had. Traveling with adult son using a walker who cannot do steps or door lips of any kind without a helping hand. Advantages/Problems/Comments: Raised balcony floor on Edge Class ships is real improvement. Note main beds in accessible cabins of Edge ships do not allow for luggage stored underneath. The couch/third person bed proved to be comfortable and had no impact on floor space when in use. Would You Book It Again?: YES Photos or Photo Links:
  3. We are home and had a wonderful trip. We were in accessible Sky Suite 11120. Just following up on the third/fourth party bedding. It actually worked very well and was more comfortable than the fold out sleeper sofas we have dealt with before. The mattress placed on top of the couch came from the trundle pull out beneath it. If there was fourth person, I suspect they would pull one from another room or storage. I do not see the four person trundle bed set up working for anything other than children. We just left it with the mattress in place all the time. We did set the couch back cushions on the floor at the end of the couch. As an accessible room it was excellent with lots of space in the room and and the bath. There was no closing mechanism on the bath door. We just left it open during the night and only one night with higher seas did it close itself. None of the accessible cabins have lip at the bath door. There is a drain across the door to catch any water from the roll-in shower. The drain along the wall of the shower did very well and we would use an extra towel on the floor to catch any water on the other side. Another improvement found on the Edge Class ships is the balcony floor is raised to match the door threshold vs. the smaller steeper ramp on other ships. One comment to the ship designers, More accessible room options would be great. On the Edge ships there is only ONE accessible suite available for more than 2 passengers. Next spring we are going on Oceania and their new ship the Vista. It has nine accessible veranda cabins able to handle 3 passengers and appear to be within 20 sq.ft. of floor space as the Edge accessible Sky Suite (418 sq.ft.)
  4. Since posting I did searches on Bing and Google and found a couple of threads here on Cruise Critic, that I don’t think could have found using the search box here. I just asked “Celebrity Edge sofa bed” I found two additional posts who indicated that the Steward/Host placed a mattress on top of the couch, and it had been comfortable. I will speak to our Host on arrival about that and getting a third chair for the balcony. I had two concerns, comfort, and room to move around. Our son has mobility issues and uses a walker. Need to be sure he has clear path at night to the bathroom. I will take a picture and come back here and put in Room Thread for Edge class ships. 5. Trying to figure out the layout of the couch/bed on Edge ships that have space for 3rd/4th passengers. Have not found a picture of it in its bed configuration. This the one that almost looks like a trundle bed with a pullout from under the couch. Does the bed go parallel to the wall or out from the wall? Bottom line, how far out does it come from the wall when in bed setup. Question in relation to how it impacts moving around? Picture would be great?
  6. I was just reviewing travel requirements and saw that Celebrity was offering onboard testing for return to the US. Came here to CC to make sure others had seen this change. However, I tried the attached link for the provider and could not get anywhere as the first question was what sailing were you on and the only option offered, already sailed. Was considering their provider as our last day was in La Spezia and will not be back on board until later in the day and early flight from Rome the next morning. From Celebrity site. To help with the U.S. re-entry process, we are providing guests with two options: Onboard Testing - Guests who wish to test onboard can be tested within 24 hours prior to debark. Please use the following link to register: https://www.eurofins-eclinical.com/registration/si-gbr-onboard/. The cost for this test is $55 USD and will be charged to your onboard account. Our third-party vendor Eurofins will facilitate the test and you will receive your results within 10 minutes. eMED Test Kits - Provided by eMed, an authorized medical provider, these tests provide the required proctored test and can be purchased onboard for $24.50 USD. For guests extending their stay in Europe, this option adds the convenience and flexibility of testing whenever it is appropriate for your return flight home.
  7. Booked flights early for our Edge sailing June 25. This is my first-time using Flights by Celebrity for a cruise that will actually sail. I understand and am not surprised in today’s world when airlines modify schedules. I immediately call the airline for alternatives when the changes are significant. The results not as good as my first choice but doable. Had a 2:45 hour layover in Heathrow after a nonstop from Raleigh before flight to Barcelona. Last week got notice of changes making it a 12:15 hour layover. Immediately contacted Flights by Celebrity with alternative flights with the same airline already identified. Told they would submit request to ticketing and give them a week and call back if I did not hear from them. Called back today and 3 hours later told they have the request and should have it done in another 5 or 6 days. This is not an airline problem as it only takes a phone call. Delaying that call only increases the likelihood of the alternatives no longer being available.
