  1. Happy Independence Day to all of my American friends on here. Thank you for today's daily reports Rich. It is cloudy and 18°C here in North East England. I like most music including Country Music. Barbecues are nice in the summer. I wouldn't want to eat an egg fried on the pavement. Prayers offered to help all of our dear friends who have illnesses. I hope everyone has a lovely day and all of your pets are kept safe from all the noisy fireworks.
  2. Premier inn prices everywhere have increased significantly this year. They are looking to sell a lot of Beefeater and Brewers fayre restaurant's too.
  3. That's what we were told. There are 2 menu's during the week and ours changed to menu 2 on Tuesday. At 6pm we were usually first in as that's when they opened and you could sit anywhere. We had originally booked when we boarded 4 nights Sindhu and 3 nights Epicurean on the app but the Epicurean restaurant manager swapped our last night ( Thursday) from Sindhu to Epicurean on Tuesday night after dinner. I sent a glowing email to Paul Ludlow about our servers and food in Epicurean and Sindhu and he emailed back a few hours later thanking me and said my email would be forwarded to the ship. We personally loved our dining experience in both restaurants.
  4. @Selbourne. We were on Britannia June 2-9 and booked speciality every night. They did ask for 24 hours notice if you cancelled so they could accommodate others. You can easily cancel restaurants on the App. We ate at 6pm every night and our food and service in both Epicurean and Sindhu was perfect. Photos are in Epicurean.
  5. Sorry to hear your Epicurean experience was disappointing Andy. We went to Sindhu for 3 nights at 6pm and our servers were Dominic and Chester. They were excellent so I mentioned those 2 gentleman in my email to Paul Ludlow too. Flam has a good selection of shops next to the ship but everyone raves about the Flam railway.
  6. The port shuttle was where we got off the ship and ran regularly during the day and drops you right in the centre of town. Church behind drop off. Main shopping street 30 metres from the front of the bus. It is the ports own service and cost 14 Krone each for all day and we paid the driver by credit card. We could see our ship in this photo. Graham.
  7. Haugesund port is less than a mile from the open sea. We were there on June 7th. The port had their own shuttle service which was 14krone for all day and you can pay the driver with a card. It takes less than 10 minutes and it drops you off near the church and the longest pedestrian shopping street in Norway.
  8. We were on her maiden voyage then booked again for 4 weeks later. Paulines best friends nephew is an engineer on Arcadia.
  9. If you sail into Southampton about 40 miles away at Newbury is Highclere castle where Downton abbey is filmed. It is recommended to pre-book on line. P&O Iona does 7 night cruises every week from April 8th to September 14th in 2024 to the Norwegian Fjords. If you book a balcony definitely avoid deck 8 as it is the promenade deck and you have no privacy. P&O Aurora and Arcadia are adults only and smaller ships and favourites of long time P&O veterans. A couple of friends on RCL had just been on an MSC ship sailing from Miami and reported a lot of disobedient behaviour on board. The new MSC Virtuoso was fabulous when we were on her in April 2023 out of Southampton.
  10. I'm sad to hear Lou had a number of setbacks yesterday Terry. Prayers 🙏 for a much better day today for all of your dear family. Graham.
  11. Thank you for today's daily reports. It is currently 58°F and sunny here at 11.52am. Lots of farmers build scarecrows to scare birds from their crops. Civil disobedience should never be condoned. I will give today's food a miss. Prayers 🙏 offered to all who they will help. I hope everyone has a great day.
  12. Sounds amazing Andy. We dined at 6pm every night in Epicurean or Sindhu. I'm pleased to hear you got booked for Epicurean. Graham.
  13. Hi Terri. You should be able to dock in Kristiansand. The North Sea can be very rough or like a millpond. Graham.
  14. I'm sorry to hear you had an accident with Allen's wheelchair Joy. I hope you haven't broken any bones and you are soon better. Congratulations on your cruise extension.
  15. It was June 2003 when we sailed on MS Sunbird which was originally Royal Caribbean MS Song of America. Those days I recorded everything on our camcorder and rarely took photos.
  16. Happy birthday to Michelle on Wednesday. I'm pleased you are enjoying your long awaited cruise. Ryan and Carmella were our servers 4 times in Epicurean June 2-9. We sat in the first booth to the left of the entrance and I took food photos every night. They were brilliant so I emailed Paul Ludlow to tell him and he said he would forward my email to the ship so they would be recognised. Graham.
  17. Good afternoon. We had a lovely Church service this morning. Afterwards we went to the beach a couple of miles away. It is sunny now at 17.47pm but 30 minutes ago it was raining heavily. I hope everyone is safe and well.
