A great day in history for Captain Cook who lived in our part of North East England as a boy and there is a Captain Cook schoolboy museum in Great Ayton and a museum of his life in Marton Middlesbrough. I remember about 40 years ago we went to a hotel in Newquay. At breakfast time I had shorts on and the waitress brought our food then started pouring our coffee. Somehow she missed my cup and was pouring the hot coffee on my leg which caused me to jump up.

Thank you Vanessa for remembering Father David's 51st birthday today. We gave him his birthday card and had a good chat with him yesterday after our church service.
