  1. I would love this! As long as your unmentionables are covered, I don't see why this would be an issue. I would do it!
  2. Back in October during elegant night on the Ecstasy, I saw a woman wearing a shredded piece of cloth that *barely* covered her and looked more like a tangled net than what I assume was supposed to be a dress. Literally everything that shouldn't was hanging out for all to see. A lot of people from all ages and backgrounds were making loud comments on how inappropriate her attire was and that she looked like a hooker, but I never heard whether Carnival did anything about it. I also didn't see her in anything else inappropriate the rest of the cruise, so maybe they did actually say something to her.
  3. Typically staterooms are ready around 1:30 - sometimes a little earlier. And they usually won't take checked luggage 2 hours before the scheduled sailaway time, so to prevent delays with their luggage, I would recommend your cousin just haul their bags onboard.
  4. It's not required or auto-added on Australian itineraries, but you can still give tips if you choose to.
  5. I don't think it would have any bearing on how many people carry and use their phones throughout the day. I do think it's because there is a high demand from cruisers liking and requesting the paper copies. I used to bring them home to show friends/family who were interested in what happens and how you know what all is going on. I also like to use highlighters to mark which things I am interested in - they app is fine but I feel like a lot of cruisers miss various things because of where the information is located on the app.
  6. Unless there is some exclusion listed in the terms of your OBC, then yes. But it's cheaper to buy Cheers ahead of time.
  7. I personally wouldn't chance one quite that early. Traffic in and around Seattle can be horrendous, and it's roughly a 30-45 min ride from the port to the airport (my experience over the years has nearly always been closer to the 45 min mark). Security/TSA at SEATAC can sometimes take longer than you would expect it to, and I when I was last there a few years ago they still had some major construction going on in and around the airport that caused some delay getting there. Add in possible delays if the ship comes into port late and you have a scheduling nightmare to deal with.
  8. I prefer to handle everything myself, but do occasionally use a TA if I can find a really great deal though one that I can't get on my own. I did use a friend's PVP once, who was fantastic, but when I went to call her about something else just two months later, she was no longer working with Carnival. Between that and noticing so many different PVP's listed on the bottom of Carnival emails I get, I wonder what their turnover rate is.
  9. With minors, I couldn't say for sure, but if it's adults in the same room, the other adults just need to the booking number to add to their Carnival account and they can enter their own information for check in. The arrival appointment time chosen is automatically for everyone in the same room.
  10. This was us too growing up. If we didn't want what mom made for dinner, we could make a PBJ or a bowl of cereal. We also had a rule that any new food, we had to take 3 bites (even if they were small) - one to get over the initial shock of the new flavor/texture, one to taste, and one to decide if we actually liked it or not.
  11. Nope. Usually I'm ready to go home, just not ready to go back to my regular daily routine.
  12. Generally, they want you out of your cabin by 8:30 and off the ship no later than 9:30-10:00. However, as others have said, there are some variables as late arrivals to port, among other things, can affect the timeline.
  13. Nassau is still a jacked up mess. They're in the middle of yet another redesign and construction of the port area (about the 5th one I've seen in the last 20 years). Roads are very uneven and I did not see any kind of shuttle from the ship into town when I was there last month.
  14. 6-8 bags PLUS carryons for 5 people?!?!? Are you packing your whole house? I PROMISE you won't need that much stuff for a cruise, and you'll regret having to drag that all around and/or track it down on embark/debark. You also won't have enough space in your cabin to store that many bags. Max, I would stick with 1 carryon sized bag and one backpack per person, or 1 large suitcase per person.
  15. I usually will wear a lanyard, except for when it's super windy on deck (almost lost one overboard once when the wind ripped it off my neck) or if I'm dressed up for dinner (I think it looks weird). I also won't wear it while in port - I know a lot of people do, but I feel it's a bit of a safety/security issue to have your cards out for all to see. Especially for those who also have their drivers license and CC shoved in a clear pocket around on it.
  16. I like both for different reasons - hard sided I feel offers a little more protection for the contents if I'm planning on bringing home anything breakable. Soft sided I can definitely cram more in. Both of my luggage pieces are from eBags and have held up well - the mother lode rolling duffel (also comes in a backpack) and the allura hardside carryon (which I don't think they make anymore). 6 years later and the hard sided only has a few scratches on the corners, The zippers, handles, and wheels are all in great condition, despite how hard I am on them. They have a lifetime warranty on their brand of bags too, which is great.
  17. From the way it's worded, it look like yes, it's $5 (for the entirely of the cruise), in addition to the daily wifi charge. I've never purchased a wifi plan, so I can't confirm this. But I know from experience that you do not have to purchase a wifi plan for the chat plan to work.
  18. They don't keep proof of vax from cruise to cruise, and Grand Turk is one of the few ports still requiring it. I'm surprised Carnival didn't ask for it when you checked in at the cruise terminal before boarding for this sailing. I don't think they would have denied you boarding if you didn't have it with you, but they sure can prevent you from going ashore in ports where proof of vax is still required.
  19. Maybe this is snarky, but the acceptable attire is right on Carnival website in the FAQ under "What to Wear": What to Wear - Evening Attire Following is the dress code in the main dining room(s) for both men, women and children: “Cruise Casual” Dress Code Men: sports slacks, khakis, jeans, long dress shorts and collared polo shirts Women: summer dresses, casual skirts, pants, capris, dress shorts, jeans blouses and tops Not permitted: cut-off jeans, men’s sleeveless shirts, tee-shirts, gym or basketball shorts, baseball hats, flip-flops and bathing suit attire Be sure to bring a red or blue outfit or a top for our Mega Deck Party. “Cruise Elegant” Dress Code (formal evenings) 2-day to 5-day cruise: one “Cruise Elegant” evening 6-day or longer cruise: two “Cruise Elegant” evenings The first “Cruise Elegant” evening is scheduled for the second or third evening of the cruise and the second “Cruise Elegant” evening is the second or third evening prior to the end of the cruise, itinerary schedule permitting. Men: dress slacks, dress shirts, and we also suggest a sport coat; men may also wish to wear a suit and tie or tuxedo Women: cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; ladies may also wish to wear an evening gown Not permitted: jeans, men’s sleeveless shirts, shorts, tee-shirts, sportswear, shorts, baseball hats, flip-flops and bathing suit attire The Steakhouse: The dress requirements for the Steakhouse follows the dress code specified for the main dining room(s); if the evening is specified as “Cruise Casual,” shorts are not permitted. Please Note: All guests are expected to ensure their clothing and accessories are respectful to fellow guests. Specifically, items worn during the cruise should not contain any message that may be considered offensive or contain nudity, profanity, sexual innuendo/suggestions. In addition, clothing/accessories should not promote negative ethnic or racial, commentary, or hatred or violence in any form.
  20. I would carry hard copies of your documents to show at check in if they're required for your cruise (the vast majority of cruises on Carnival no longer require proof of vax, testing, etc). The VeriFLY app is horrible, and even if you could get it to work correctly, the agents at the check in desk for Carnival always asked for the hard copies anyway. It was pointless and unless you absolutely HAVE to use it for some reason, I wouldn't bother with it.
  21. I will say that the wait times quoted on the app are pretty close to accurate. Wait times will depend on party size (larger parties have longer waits generally) and when you check in, just like a land based restaurant. I have a tendency to check in right when the dining room opens or shortly after, and on all my post-covid cruises, I haven't usually had to wait more than 15-20 minutes for a table (for 2 people). Based on my experiences, service can sometimes feel rushed or a little lacking, but that seems to be from a shortage of dining staff more than anything else.
  22. This is probably their final bill amount being placed on hold until the charge settles in full. Or they're adding all the small holds together to get these numbers.
  23. Because they're linked, your S&S card should be platinum for both cruises. It should also show platinum on your boarding pass for the first leg.
  24. Way back when I went on my first cruise, it definitely would have been a problem for me as I was very young and just about living paycheck to paycheck. Had to really pinch pennies for a long time to make that one work.
  25. As far as I know, they absolutely can and will leave you behind. Every case I know of, the cruiseline does send someone to the stateroom to locate passports/travel documents to leave with the port officials or embassy if the decision is made to leave someone behind. And it's absolutely possible they were the only two on a particular excursion. I've shown up to quite a few over the years where it was me and one other person. I guess it's up to the tour operator though on whether they will cancel it if there isn't a minimum amount of people.
