Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Im on the Eclipse now in a sunset veranda. I’ve sailed mostly with Royal and NCL previously in balcony cabins. I’m mid-40’s. I like Celebrity, but outside of the age range of guests skewing much older on Celebrity (which I like), there isn’t much different from Royal. I find the food comparable in the main dining room, and actually worse in Eclipse’s Oceanview compared to Anthem’s Windjammer. I would sail Celebrity again if I wanted the itinerary. But I’m not wowed by it above RCCL or NCL.
  2. Love the Anthem’s Windjammer. Just got off the Liberty and it was HORRIBLE (and I am not a picky eater) Different quality in food and the layout stunk. The Anthem pulled up next to us in Nassau and I wished I could jump over and eat there. 😆
  3. On the Liberty now and it’s bad on the balcony.
  4. It will be lovely in June! We went late May this year and there was only snow on the mountain tops.
  5. I just looked for my sailing and Coco Beach club is down to 68 for the day now. Cancelled and rebooked on app and saved 10 dollars. 😆
  6. Thanks! Wasn’t going to book it because it was 150$ last time I looked. Liberty of the Seas first week of December (we are there on 12/7)
  7. We just booked it for 78 per person. Early Black Friday deal, maybe? There will be 2 ships in port and I wanted a relaxing quiet place, so looking forward to it.
  8. Pathologist, here. They may have needed the plasma or platelets from the blood donation. Men, in general, have less antibodies that can cause blood transfusion reactions when infused in the recipient, because they don’t get pregnant and host another human for 9 months. That is why they likely asked for male donors. trip sounds awesome. Will be on the Eclipse in February and enjoying the reports.
  9. Just saved 200 dollars by cancelling and rebooking 2 excursions on my SA cruise! Thankful for this thread to alert me to check!!!
  10. Thanks, will check out both of those posts!!!
  11. Thanks, that’s what we are thinking. I think the second itinerary just seems easier from a trip planning aspect flying in and out of the same airport. We booked both but will cancel one soon (likely the 2nd). I think my brain keeps thinking that we are so close to Antarctica that I can’t help but want to see it. 😆
  12. Hello, I’m planning a South American cruise for late February and am trying to decide between 2 itineraries on 2 different lines. Not a huge joiner, so I don’t mind a quieter ship. I’m most interested in seeing landscapes and wildlife as I’ve recently taken up photography as a hobby. Both Patagonia and Antarctica are bucket list trips for me, so I’m wondering if I should do a separate Antarctica cruise at a later date. These are the 2 itineraries, does anyone have any thoughts?
  13. That isn’t what we were told on board. We were told the motor to the sea walk broke and they couldn’t get it to work right in the wind. They then said the wind made tendering not possible and we couldn’t wait for sea walk to be fixed because wind was affecting the ship moorings making it unsafe. But the initial issue was with the sea walk not working.
  14. I’m on this cruise. They tried to tender but told us there was wind issues preventing it. Weird thing is, Holland America was also in port and tendering just fine.
  15. I somewhat understand the issue and anger for paying more for less (the Disney fans say the same thing all the time), though none of these changes bother me in the least. And maybe I’m wrong about this (though I doubt it) but most passengers on a cruise are first or only a few timers. Unlike the folks who frequent this message board, most will not notice or care about the changes to 1/day service. Which means the complaints will only come from a few, and Royal won’t care. The head of Disney once outright said the company caters to the first time cruiser or park-goer, because they tend to splurge more. I don’t think the complaints will change anything and if you decide not to go, they’ll find a first-timer to take your spot.
