  1. We sailed the BA in December and will board her again 2/26. Nice ship with a few quirks. If you e. It sailed down the Mississippi it is interesting.
  2. You can call NCL and make your reservations if it is not resolved by your booking date.
  3. I’ve done it many years ago, but the two had a big time gap in between. here’s my suggestion. Don’t do the city tour through NCL. Find a cabbie, or local tour guy and tell him you must be back by whatever time. He should be able to accommodate you. Easier to do a quick tour with a couple people than a bus load.
  4. Typo. Should say “permits you” and 25,000 points. ☺️
  5. Just an FYI, if your situation Kermit’s, you and your spouse can each apply for individual cards and each receive 250 points.
  6. Yes, I didn’t make that clear. Not a true category upgrade would be sweet!
  7. Anytime you can upgrade for a reasonably small amount of money, you have to weigh the points vs cash value to you. Same goes for doing an OV to BA vs IN to BA. But the timing may not be in your favor since April may be a pretty busy cruise time as it is still Spring Break in some areas. Ooh AK to HI, I’ve always wanted to do that! I’d watch it closely to see how the ship is booking up, sometimes those transoceanic cruises are not full, but since that one does two great locales for balconies, it bears watching closely.
  8. On the BA last month it was a one category upgrade. On the Star in August it was a two category upgrade. Others here have reported their offers being double points for that booking.
  9. I’ve done it two years out so I would say no. But I’ve become a bit more cautious as they now warn that points oncancelled cruises may be forfeited.😳 that happened during covid and I do not know of anyone reporting that having happened to them but it is in the small print now. the last time I upgraded a room and the rep was reading off all the disclosure verbage at the end I stopped him when he got to that forfeiture part. He said yes, it is knew and it depends on the reason for cancellation and is at the discretion of someone higher than him. I have a cruise in 6/2024 that I’ll do a double meta but I holding off a bit because there are a lot of moving parts to that cruise and anything can happen. I have cancelled many a cruise during covid, 8 I think, and it was not a problem. But be aware the points gods could get ugly.
  10. We rented a car and driver. We have done National Express bus in the past which was fine, but this time we decided to splurge. Our door to door cost was $140 US. if you go to www.londontoolkit.com. There is a huge amount of information about darn near everything. We found our driver thru a site that was something like chaufferit.com. but of course, the boards onCC are always a great source of information, as someone else very widely suggested.
  11. I was not being argumentative, or taking issue with your comment, just adding additional information that the OP might not have regarding included wines with your voucher may vary from those included in your bev package.
  12. Yes, if memory serves me, the terminal name is Ocean Crise Terminal. Can’t address the lack of showing the sailing. we stayed at the Holiday Inn which gave us an ocean view, a nice little onsite restaurant and a shopping center close by for last minute items. A cab drive was less than 10 minutes away. That was unsolicited but thought I’d throw it in. enjoy your cruise.
  13. They are part of the biometric devices used in some ports. As you exit or enter the ship in some ports (I don’t know why it’s not all ports) you don’t need to present your keycard, just look into a device and it recognizes you and you’re on your way. in years past they took your photo at check in.
  14. Yes, but some of the wine on the complimentary list is not available by the glass, or is in excess of the $15 limit. In December at Cagneys, we ordered a nice Sauvignon Blanc that was not available by the glass, but we received the bottle with our voucher.
  15. I saw this on the other thread. Good information. We are on the BA 2/26 and have not received this letter yet. It also is not on the website yet. I assume both of those will happen in the near future.
  16. That’s very interesting. Not surprising and a reasonable response to new viruses emerging from China and surrounding areas. im booked on a 2/26 cruise and have not received that notice yet, but I have gotten multiple emails about gratuities and travel insurance 😉. Nor is this info on the NCL website yet. But I assume both things will be along soon. thanks for posting.
  17. Make sure your watch is on ship time. With or without sesame seeds. 🤗
  18. In some restaurants larger tables are difficult to get, so make arrangements early to avoid disappointment. Shouldn’t be a problem but it depends somewhat on the configuration of the restaurant on that ship. Good luck.
  19. That is good news, although WP was not usually much of a wait, like regular NCL calls. But my question is whether you get to select your cabin or is it just assigned. I’m fussy about room. I would hope they still have the option to speak to a customer service rep. I did just go to BOA and it says “ now available online, or cal ### to redeem. Good news.
  20. If you are making a cash deposit, then yes you put down $x per person. If however, you are using a certificate of some sort, it satisfies the deposit for the entire cabin. Restrictions apply for higher level cabins. Be sure to read the restrictions on the CF certificate because it’s less flexible than a CN. But still a good deal, just beware of what may happen if you want to change your reservation.
  21. I wouldn’t think so, but you can always ask.
  22. Thank you all. I’ve already done dining on line, just couldn’t remember where entertainment was done as we didn’t book ant on our last voyage.
  23. It seems that precovid I made entertainment reservations on line, or at least, I think I did. Now I find that it cannot be done until nboard. Is that in Syd Normans? Thank you in advance. MB
  24. Can’t you turn off the automatic setting for time? I can on my older iPhone and iPad.
  25. I’m just harboring a guess here that they might sprout legs, and secondly, until recent refurbishments, there was a plug near the bed. We put a cell phone by the bed and use it at night if need be.
