  1. Great to see a favorable review on the Jade. I needed an August cruise and the only 7 day that wasn't Alaska or Canada was on the Jade. I too was concerned about being on an older and smaller ship. I'm feeling good about and excited for this cruise after seeing a few positive smaller ship reviews lately. We love Asian food so will prob eat there a few times. Not a fan of game shows as entertainment so hope we have decent entertainment on our cruise. Hope your wife continues to recover and become more mobile.
  2. When I sailed NCL I don't think I was aware you could get 2 drinks at a time. Certainly no one ever poured me 2🧐. I'm May I'm getting my 2 drinks at a time. Yes I can barely finish 1 but it's the principle of the matter lol.
  3. We woke up to pouring rain this morning, now it's hot, humid and sunny. I have no rum ☹️
  4. I'm up too early this morning booo. I know I was at Freeport once but couldn't remember anything about it until I went back and looked at some old pics. We did a beach, kayak, snorkel excursion but it was so windy it just turned into a beach day. Beach was very primitive I think we got the only shade spot under the only trees lol. No wonder I didn't remember. But I do remember the next port was HMC and that made up for it! Enjoy your day just chillin😎
  5. Loved the Seashore. They had infinity hot tubs that were on max bubble, just like being in the Thelassotherapy pool
  6. Is sounds like I had a one off MSC cruise in that I loved it but here are my thoughts. The people onboard seemed to be from many different countries with Americans maybe being the minority. The cruise director announced just how many different countries and it was a huge number but I don't remember exactly how many. The passengers were quite pretty. Meaning they looked tanned, fit, healthy, and dressed nicely. I think I saw exactly one scooter the whole cruise. The passengers were polite to a fault, no rushing the elevators, lines were orderly, no getting crowded and bumped into. Like I mentioned the passengers were quiet and kept to themselves. They didn't really talk to you or make small talk. I didn't hear a lot of English spoken so that might be part of it. The passengers liked to eat late so if you like to eat earlier it was much less crowded. There were times when at the pool there were rows of loungers available until almost 11 am. Didn't really see chair hogs. Like I said I sailed on the Seashore and it was designed with lots of outdoor space so the indoor spaces never felt crowded. We sailed at capacity and there were so many nice relaxing places indoors that just sat empty. The food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. We eat a lot of meat at home and there was some type of beef, pork, or chicken every night, not everything was Italian but what I tried I loved. For the first time in a long time I actually ate and liked the food at the buffet. The staff and workers were different compared to other lines. They were more serious and work focused. They were very polite and nice but didn't really chat or socialize. My husband was called Sir Billy and I was called Madame Linda the whole cruise. One time we were at the pool and we had a young server attending to us. We told him we were going to leave out stuff and go to lunch. When we got back to our loungers there were 2 drinks waiting for us, ice wasn't even melted. I don't know how he timed that but it was impressive lol. Those are my views on my cruise. I hope when I sail them again it's a great experience again!
  7. Thanks, have used the two I had guess I better grab another one. I have a feeling I will want to go back to Alaska next year.
  8. I have seen plenty of less than stellar reviews concerning MSC cruises, Davina and Meraviglia mostly and a lot from 5+ years ago. I started checking out MSC about 7 years ago but a friend that cruises a lot advised me to wait a bit, they were still struggling to connect with their American passengers. I did wait and had a great cruise. Have actually seen just as many less than stellar reviews about most every cruise line. But I don't think I have really seen any bad reviews about the Seashore which is the ship I sailed on.
  9. I love the air fryer! No more soggy leftover pizza, no more cold limp fries lol. Just don't cook pork chops in it.
  10. Your dinner looked so good. I wanted steak but had pork chops, cooked in the air fryer. Lesson learned don't be lazy and fire up the grill next time
  11. I liked that also. Last cruise all our MDR meals were at window seats except two meals.
  12. That's crazy! We sailed out of Florida. One thing I noticed about the passengers was that they were quiet. They mostly kept to themselves. Polite, maybe a bit reserved and so were the crew. Not like on Carnival where no matter where you are or what you are doing someone will strike up a conversation with you lol. We aren't social butterflies so it was ok for us.
  13. I will sail them again when they come to Galveston. My biggest letdown was the lack of comedy on my ship but the other entertainment made up for it.
  14. Honestly I thought MSC Seashore was one of my best cruises. I know a lot of reviews talk about how bad people are but I didn't have any problems. I said it when I got back from that cruise and I will say it again. My fellow passengers were the most polite, well mannered, beautiful, well dressed, fit people I have ever cruised with. Food was excellent and ship was new and gorgeous. Yes there were little things, it wasn't perfect but darn close. Hope you have a good experience.
  15. Since I started cruising my tolerance has jumped up to 2 drinks at a sitting, sometimes. I order a lot of drinks to try but don't finish a lot of drinks.
  16. It was a nice surprise, first time booking using the rewards I wasn't aware of this. We used it daily to get water at the casino bar.
  17. Will be catching up after work, have a fabulous cruise day!
  18. It's an interesting read. I learned from it. I'm always trying to learn. It was just a suggestion that felt appropriate at the moment.
  19. I think your statement was more than just semantics. Might I suggest reading IHGs views on Social Justice and diversity? It's right there on their web page.
  20. Typo.... You did not say poorest, you said cheapest.
  21. Well you could have just said that. Mentioning the poorest people had me thinking that perhaps the CEO of IHG had put it out there that they had come up with a brilliant, genius marketing plan that would make the cheapest people think they were getting something for nothing🧐
  22. The cheapest people? Wow I guess that's one way of looking at it. I always thought when I booked in advance and got a discount it was because the rate was non refundable not because I was cheap😮
  23. But you are a person who carries no debt, not everyone can do that😁
