  1. We got off the Equinox yesterday, so let me put this to rest. The $20pp is all you can eat with NO restrictions! The only thing not included is fresh Wasabi ($10).

I love sushi and thought it was ok. I had the Sushi and Sashimi (Chef's choice), Lobster Ramen (delicious!), Dynamite lobster and shimp, Three other types of roll (half portions)and my DW had the wontons and two orders of the Kobe Beef Slider (which was confirmed to be genuine, not Wagyu). I added up what it would have been a la carte and it came out to over $100, but the bill was just $40.

Wow they have real wasabi? I don't think I have tried real wasabi as they are like $80 a pound. I was told most every sushi restaurants outside of Japan used dyed horseradish/mustard. I don't think I can taste the difference as I am not very picky.

  2. What ancillary businesses are being "strangled?" I would imagine that with hotels at or near capacity anyone working in those business would be back to work. I would also imagine that any restaurants that are open are catering to whomever is staying in the hotels. Of the approximately 19,000 disaster aid workers in PR right now, only about 1,400 of them are FEMA workers.

I am thinking all business. Tourists drink a lot. Workers who had to wake up early to work the next day don't. Tourists will pay for $60 dinner for 2. Workers will just eat sandwiches. Workers are not going to buy too many souvenirs.

  3. On our last cruise in April, the OLD website's order history shows both our internet package and drink package perks. The only thing that it didn't show was the OBC.

On our next cruise in June 2018, the NEW website's order history shows absolutely nothing even though we have the same perks ordered. Maybe they will show up as we get closer to the sail date. Or maybe they only show after the final payment?

  4. Guess I'm glad it wouldn't let me "add to cart" and had to call. The price online for our 15-night was $255.20 for the unlimited package and it said that the discount was already applied. But when I called I learned that it was not. so it came to $201 for the unlimited internet package. Great deal.

The regular price for 15 days unlimited internet is $319 so $255.20 is exactly 20% off. Is it because you are higher up on Captain Club and get another discount that stacks with the 20% off promotion?

  5. Haven't received the email. What ships / dates are eligible? Thanks!

  6. Was scheduled on RCCL-Adventure of the Seas. Just received notification from JBU that my flights were cancelled. Basically, the rep I spoke to said it is running like a primitive airport-2 operating gates; no running water; no electricity; hand written boarding passes; no air traffic control tower-*** & RCCL wants to shuttle us back and forth from airport to pier. The agent did say upon return on 14th it can take up to 10 days to be able to leave island! It's insane; retarded and insensitive. PR is a disaster zone. It is in no condition to accept more people when people are trying to evacuate. Just leave the ship in FLL port after you disembark evacuees and allow ship to sail from there. I think most if not all of the passengers will be ok with that decision. Otherwise, RCCL better be ready for all the law suits they will receive.

I don't how know how most of the passengers would be okay with that. I think most just hope that by the time they got back, the flights would be normal and they get to fly home on time. There is just no way thousands of passengers could find hotels for 10 days on Oct 14. Just a few days ago, Marriott CEO said there are still hundreds of guests trapped in their hotels and they are trying to get them out. All 16 of their hotels will need many months to recover (his words).

  7. It's been so long since I had to cancel airfare. If you had to is it still the practice that you can pay something and get to keep part of the fare towards new reservations?

    Praying for PR.

I only had to do it with United and Delta before, but they will let you use your paid fare for another trip within 1 year. You have to pay about $200 per ticket for the change fee. Make sure you save your original trip information (confirmation number, ticket number, dates, flight numbers, passenger name, etc..) before you cancel the ticket.

  8. Just quoting the Royal Caribbean web site. I personally think they should home port the Adventure OTS out of Port Everglades for the next few months!

Sent from my LG-E980 using Forums mobile app

They probably don't want to pay for Port Everglades when they probably have a contract with Port of San Juan. And if they stay in Port Everglades don't they have to pay for everyone's flight change fee? Now they don't.

  9. I'm supposed to have three nights in the Caribe Hilton, then take the Jewel of the Seas through Southern Caribbean at the end of December. Just called Hilton, and they refuse to say the status of the Caribe Hilton until after my final cruise payment is due the first week of October. Should I just cancel the whole thing and go to Hawaii?

    From forbes.com

"Caribe Hilton- received extensive flooding and exterior damage"

  10. We were on deck 7 aft just after the bump. We looked down to see where the life boats are and the top of the life boats are just about level with the floor of the balcony on deck 6. But there are these white columns on the front and back holding up the life boats. Those are taller than the life boats and I think you could see it, but only on certain balcony. Probably every 3 or 4.

  11. I am not sure if they were going down a list. I got the impression that they had selected us among others in the same catagory (first time Celebrity cruisers I suspect) to bump.

The list would start with people with no Captain Club status (you get status after the first cruise), and then people who book the cruise themselves without TA. That way Celebrity cruise only have to deal with you and not the TA who is more familiar with this kind of things.

  12. I remember there was a small light source in the bathroom at night that you can't turn off. It is good enough that you don't have to turn on the light in the bathroom at night if you need to go. There is nothing in the cabin but I think the closet has light if you don't the door completely.

  13. No, he wasn't special. Most of kids were trained by then. I was really surprised when we moved here and I saw 2-3-4 yo in diapers.

So I wouldn't judge kids by age. Families are different even here. I am sure if parent knows that kid is not trained he will not leave him without a diaper.

My wife told me that's how it was in Russia. They start potty training around 8 months old. Pretty much all the babies are potty trained by 1 and a half.

  14. We got some $9.99 on sales ones from the Celebrity ship store. They worked fine on the waterfall climb. The tour bus taking us to the waterfall asked if anyone needs water shoes and they could stop by a shop for us to buy some.. I think they said the price was also around $10 a pair. These are pretty much the ones you see at Walmart's summer fun aisle selling for $6.99.

And you will NEED the shoes if you are climbing up the fall. Don't go barefoot.

  15. The next time you walk down a hall and see a tray of dirty dishes, knock on the door a few times and then just keep walking. If the people in the cabin stick their head out into the hall and ask why you knocked, tell them it's because they left their dirty dishes outside. If enough of us do this it might just stop the practice.

Not at a cruise but at hotels, I have had people left room service dishes outside next to my room door. And at the cruise ship the doors are so close together.. they could have just walk the dishes a few doors down and set them down.

  16. I learn about packing cubes and rolling from this forum and I bought some packing cubes for my next cruise in 2018. But I had to travel last month so I thought I would test them out. OMG they are so amazing. Not only most of my clothes did not need ironing.. they are just so easy to use at the hotel room. I just take the cubes out and put them into drawers (drawers I never use before). You take out what you need and everything stays in place.
