  1. This is "M's Favorites". The way they told us to order was to order anything that looks good to us. And we can tell them to stop anytime or they will just keep bringing out the food course by course. So we stopped at the 8th course which is the M's Favorites. But we went on to have 4 or 5 different desserts: handmade gelato, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate cake, and some others I forgot.

  2. We have been to Qsine 4-5 times & never thought of the food as Asian.

We have enjoyed Qsine more when we were with a group. We tried it with just the 2 of us and although they reduced the portions in each selection we could only eat 3 choices.

Last cruise we did a group of 9 and had a blast.

I think it's more "Fusion" than Asian. We had a group of 17 last time and it was amazing. We did 8 courses (4 portion each) and ALL the desserts. :) We got a discount at $35 pp.

I would call it Tasting Menu Style Fusion World Cuisine.

  3. I know this will sound sexist (because it is, lol), but I never used to notice men caring about what other men are wearing.;)

Heh we do notice when someone is overdressed. Every time someone wear a suit to work, we asked

    "Are the customers coming today?"

"Are you going to an interview after work?"

"Going to a funeral after work?"

Usually one of the three was correct.

Last time I wore a tux to a wedding, all the guys asked "Looking good, trying to be James Bond?" Looking around I saw only the groom, best man, and fathers of the bride and groom wore tux. Went home and looked at the invitation again.. clearly said "Black Tie". I guess "Black Tie" doesn't mean Tux anymore.

  4. If you are flying make sure you check your baggage weight if you decided to bring the gears. Normally we were never over 50 lb, but last trip we decided to bring all the snorkeling gears and it went over to 52 lb. Luckily our 2nd bag is only 47 lb. But we had to move something over to avoid the $100 over size fee.

  5. Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas has RFID tag tracking onboard using the ship's WiFi for you don't get lost on a huge ship. I think Disney cruise has the same technology for tracking kids with their RFID bracelet.

I wouldn't use a cell phone GPS to track. For GPS, you have to be close to the windows or open up to the sky. And most cellphone GPS is disabled if you are in airplane mode. The ship WiFi location will likely display you being at the Port or at the ship's location which is not going to help to track someone onboard.

  6. The US passport photo is just a bigger size picture with more empty space around. The face height requirement is almost identical. You can just trim the 2x2 inch to 48x33mm.

US passport face height: 25.4mm to 35mm

China Visa face height: 28mm to 33mm

The passport place will try to make your head size right in the middle around 30mm so the picture will work for China Visa. Even if your face height came out to be 26mm, I don't think they are going to notice the 2mm difference.

  7. We love the Amazing River much better than the Sting Ray. The Sting Ray is cool, but if we have to choose one, it would be the Amazing River. The worst part on the Amazing River is the vomit comet ride (ferry) to the main land. Good thing I got my seasick watch with me all the time. Didn't need it on the cruise (it was a smooth ride) but without it on the vomit comet I would have used up a few of those sick bags the crews were handing out left and right.

  8. Yes, my Mom swears by this, too. She tried it after Bonine did nothing for her. Now, she'll never cruise without her Relief Band.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I have mine for over 15 years. The same one. My wife used it for morning sickness (FDA approved) when she was pregnant with our son. My mom cannot go on any size boat or ship without it.. same as me. With it, I survived the "Vomit Comet" in Mexico with ease when half the ship got off with their faces a little green. I lent my watch to so many people over the years.. they all got their own afterward. It just works! And unlike the medicines (which also work for me), the watch works even after you felt nausea. Most motion sickness medicine you have to take it one hour ahead.

You do have to try it first though.. some people cannot stand the electric shocks.. even at setting 1. My aunt wanted to try it once and she jumps up as soon as the first shock hit... :p

  9. I forgot my Kindle on an NCL cruise before I disembarked on March 19, 2017. It was likely covered by the bedding. I reported it to the Lost and Found for NCL the next day and was assigned a claim number.

I waited and waited and called about every three weeks and even filled out the form they recommend that cruise lines, airlines and hotels use. When I called, I was told "it was in transit." After about six weeks, they told me it was still sitting at the office on the west coast and it would be delivered to Miami "sometime."

Then, the company that handles lost and found told me that it wasn't found and that was the end of the story, even though it wasn't.

I continued to call every few weeks and they had a supervisor on the case, with no results. Some one was supposed to call me or send me an email to arrange the mailing (it was to be sent POD).

Then, low and behold: a Federal Express package arrived with no letter or explanation, but the kindle, cover, small headphones and stylus were all in there.

So, it took almost three months, but the item WAS returned!

Have you watched Tom Hanks' Castaway? Fed Ex delivers.. sometimes even after years! LOL :')

  10. The normal Celebrity Unlimited Internet Prices are

    Num of Days Pre-Purchase On-Board

    2-3 $69 $79

    4-6 $145 $159

    7-9 $224 $249

    10-13 $269 $299

    14+ $285 $319

Classic members get 10%, Select 25%, Elite 30%, Elite 35% off the above prices on the first package. I think you paid the normal price for the 2nd+ packages.

And on-board usually have the special where you buy 1 unlimited package get 2nd for 50% off if purchase together. I don't know if you could stack that with captain's club discount though.

  11. Unless you're on a Disney cruise. On DCL you will see currently running Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney distributed movies. They premier on sea the same day they do on land. This is a great feature for movie lovers.

I was going to say that too. My previous cruise before Celebrity was on Disney Magic. Saw a bunch of movies that just came out on theater. The movie theater on Disney Magic was about 10 times bigger than the one on Silhouette.

  12. Ah I thought it was the court that is called Celebrity Central. I think I was looking at the map they gave us and it looks like Celebrity Central was the court. I agree that the movie theater was very sad looking with a very small screen like a home theater size one. I think it is setup more like a college lecture hall with the movie screen put in as an afterthought. And the movies they are showing are older ones (3 to 6 months old) not the currently in theater ones.

  13. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen drink packages discounted on board for new package purchases? I keep checking my cruise planner daily hoping they'll offer us a deal :) Otherwise, I assume I might as well wait until we're onboard.

Keep checking online, at the end of March this year, they have an online offer of discount on all pre-purchases for 72 hours. Discount on drink packages, internet, dinning packages...

I think someone said they had one last year around Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

  14. Celebrity Central is a place?

Not sure about the Equinox but on Silhouette, Celebrity Central is the open area just outside the Theater and the small movie Theater. On Silhouette, there are about 2 to 3 movie showing per day and it is on the daily. I think the first one is usually around 11am, 2nd around 5 to 6pm, 3rd one is around 10pm. We caught the very first show when we were on Silhouette at 5pm, we were the only one in the entire theater!

  15. Disney cruise gives you a pair of wireless phones onboard to be use anywhere on the ship. The only problem with that is that you get quite a few wrong calls or butt dials or kids playing with the phones.

Most cruise have internet option, we use whatsapp on phone to talk. It is great when you have a family reunion on the cruise... hard to communicate with the group without it unless you want to go to 15+ cabins and post sticky notes.

  16. When we were on the 7 nights cruise, I don't remember seeing filet mignon on the adult menu in MDR. The always available New York Sirloin Steak (Timeless Entrees) and the steak of the day tasted about the same. I had the New York Steak 3 of the 7 nights. If I know they have filet mignon on the kid's menu, I would have tried it. :p

The buffet has a thin steak at lunch time. It is actually pretty good.

And there is only one lobster night. The captain told us they served over 3000 lobster tails on lobster night. It is a small lobster tail served with some rice and 1 large broccoli.

  17. The Mast Grill!

LOL I was going to say the same thing. 4 out of the 7 nights, our kid (11) went by himself to either Mast Grill or the Buffet (sometime both) to eat dinner and desserts. But he absolutely loves Qusine. If it's up to him he will eat there every night.

  18. This is in the FAQ for our Celebrity cruise TA:

    Dress Codes

Shipboard dress is casual during the day. Shorts and tasteful T-shirts are acceptable even in the dining room. At dinner shorts and t-shirts are not allowed and dress on informal nights is resort casual.
