Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Yeah the queues on the ship were crazy on that arrival as I recall. Snaking back to and around the casino. I have found that all ships coming back from an extended period away (or first visit, inaugural) to be a real pain as a full check in completed. On the Encore Inaugural, we ended up arriving in NYC earlier than scheduled (it ended up being an unplanned overnight as I recall) and we were all required to go through immigration and stay off the ship til they had a 0 count. All of this from a pax perspective was unplanned.
  2. I do not have experience with this situation, but as you are there the day before I expect all formalities like passports etc will happen on day 1. This has always been my experience with overnight ports if formalities were required. You also don't say where your stop previous is, if within the EU, no formalities like passports should be required as you would have been "landed" in a previous port/country and they will just sort your exit at the airport.
  3. This has been my experience as well. I prefer Med-Well to Well and if it is ever too red for me, I mention it and they bring me a special plate of meat that is more cooked to my liking. Sometimes there is a little wait, but other times the server just brings a well done slice or two when they come to the table with the skewer. In my opinion, it is not always amazing on board and is our least favourite of the Specialties, but it's nice to do as a treat. You also have a great salad bar and roasted pineapple.
  4. Mine is 10 day from Rome ending on 21 Nov 24. I have not as I have found folks here seem to always know more than the folks on the phone. 🙂
  5. Thank you everyone for your responses and the discussion. It is always nice to know we can all help each other out.
  6. Thank you both for the comments. I did not realise the transfer opened 50 days before We did a "Venice" last year and must have just looked at the right time. At least we know it may be a possibility as the transfer I have looked at is roughly the same as Ken's and whilst I will pay if I have to prefer not to.
  7. Definitely not the norm, I remember being surprised when we booked it. Appreciate your message though :-)
  8. Our cruise 100% finishes there. My previous experience has always been what you mention. But this one is “Rome” to “Paris” on the Pearl.
  9. Thanks for this. Not looking to finish early, just wondering if anyone had experience with finishing there and if they offered a transfer.
  10. HIya - I did a search on the port and did not find anything, but has anyone finished in Le Havre and know if NCL offers a transfer to the airport (CDG) or Central Paris? Nothing is showing for excursions etc later this year so just not sure if they will or if we need to figure out ourselves. Thanks in advance.
  11. I am onboard a full Epic just now. Other than a few min wait at the pool bar (think local pub on a Friday or Saturday night type wait) we have experienced no issues with waits on board. The crew have been super friendly and the food has been great. The cabins are a little annoying esp as the bed is shorter than usual and the infamous curtain, but you get used to it and they are very comfortable and spacious. This is our 3rd time on board and we would happily return.
