I second the motion to let us all know how it goes. The details imply you take a steel drum with you when you leave. I enjoy the Caribbean sounds and am thinking of this excursion myself in November.
I'm several months out so you may go before me

Thanks OP for the review. I feel that Carnival ships are not designed to function well at full capacity. This is why I enjoy Royal's Oasis class ships. The mega ships are designed with spacious common areas.

Kid should be banned. But I would not ban the rest of the family. I believe in personal accountability.
Oh and ban the person who recorded it. The jumper was not 8. Should be able to behave without a parent holding his hand as a teenager. This was planned.

I wish we could know which cruises would offer the drink card in advance.

Not sure if it's new. I've been to St Maarten before and am not one to bake on the beach. So thought I would give it a try.

Do not tell in advance. Notify at guest services once you are onboard. The person without the roommate will get double points[emoji16]. This has been advised by many with experience. Plus I actually got someone at Royal to tell me this is the best thing to do especially since the cruise is paid in full

Has anyone does the steel pan drum class excursion in St Maarten? Would appreciate knowing the setup. Outside in the direct sun or indoors or...? Was it fun? Royal offers it as an excursion.
Thanks

I do like the bigger ships. Newer with more modern amenities. Wifi works better. More things to do with new slides, escape room, and such. More entertainment options. Harmony currently the largest ship has multiple Night clubs, dedicated comedy and jazz clubs, multiple pools, and more places to dine than you can use for a 7 night cruise. I doubt I will ever go on a smaller ship again

It's not distasteful to politely ask for something. And now you are disappointed. The ask may very have yielded a satisfactory outcome.

Tip for the entire cruise. How many of you want to be paid less on Tuesday when you put out for less effort than on Thursday when you worked really, really hard?

bUU. Wow that's a lot of extras. I know it's hypothetical but it could really add up

Yes prepay for everything. Only onboard spending is extra gratuity for cabin steward and dining room staff. Maybe a couple of t-shirts.

The only thing not paid before the cruise is any extra tips for the cabin steward and dining room staff plus buying a t-shirt or two. I always see that as one of the benefits of cruising. Not redo g to spend once onboard

Yes. Adults are the ones paying. We want a sanctuary

Well I sailed Carnival Ecstasy and here are my thoughts. Was one of the first to board at noon. Asked customer service for a fridge and received one at no charge. Overall the ship is just too old and small for my taste. Breakfasts are good. Dinner ok. Lunches awful. Guys Burger must get a turkey burger or chicken sandwich. Not everyone wants beef. The room was actually spacious and the AC control great. Cabin steward and bar tenders very nice. Others in the ship just ok. The irony was that Majesty of the Seas docked next to us in Nassau. Made Ecstasy seem even smaller[emoji3]. While I appreciate the party and communal atmosphere, I just feel I get more for my money on Royal Caribbean. Looking forward to Oasis in a few months!

Jenjer totally respect your perspective. Until you got to the "build Symphony right" part. The hinged door of respect swings both ways.

24 weeks? Really? I find that rather early to restrict travel. I suppose if you hound the insurance company you can book a later cruise.

No need to weepy about the checked bag. Just have a small backpack with swimsuit and the essentials just in case you want to enjoy the pool before your bag arrives. My last sailing the bag came by the time I'd had lunch and went to my cabin. If it's a short cruise I can do carryon. For a week, no can do.

Sailed Harmony in November. Solarium is awesome. No pool. But there are 3 pools just 30 seconds away. One never had kids in it prob because the kids didn't want to mingle with the adults. Now granted I went the week after thanksgiving when there were not a ton of kids on board. But if you get hot in the Solarium a pool is only a few steps away for a quick dip. Not an issue for me personally

I think the thing about Nassau is that most people have been there one time too many. So many ships go there. If you e never been so a city tour and see al the sites. Or spend mega $ and spend the day at Atlantis.

I try not to travel when there will be lots of kids. However those 3 girls may have been going to the kids club. The club does have nighttime activities for them. Let's hope they were not just roaming.
