EWR would be easier than JFK

I found the beds on Royal more comfortable than those on Carnival. But things vary ship to ship. If you're asking then it seems you're open to trying something different. Go for it!

For me Carnival is all about the party atmosphere which I don't seek on a cruise. On Royal you can relax or you have tons of activities and then you can still party at night. I compare C and R as I would Holiday Inn and a W hotel. Both give you a good place to sleep but you feel a more upscale experience with Royal. My suggestion is to give it a try. Unless you are opposed to mega ships (which I love) I suggest one of the Oasis class ships, especially Harmony.

Again, please don't take prohibited items onboard a ship.

Please do not endanger lives by bringing prohibited items onto the ship. Not getting caught in the past is nothing to brag about

Over on this thread people said two bottles per stateroom (that has someone over 21 in it). I disagreed per the FAQ on RCI's website but I was told I was wrong. Something to investigate for anyone wanting to bring 2 for a stateroom with under 21s in it.

When you walk through the scanner no one knows what cabin you're in and what age people are. If you look age 21 plus then you go through with 2 bottles.

I'm just going from past experiences. Never had a problem. If they were to say we're going to have to charge you corkage, then I'd just bring the wine back to my room and bring back a glass. Easy peasy. :)
The rule is not applied 100%. Just giving the poster the rules. Then they can decide what to attempt

I've always taken 2 bottles for my stateroom. One for me and another for me for having to deal with my 8 year old. Nothing like a glass of mascato on the balcony whilst he sleeps. Mummy time on cruise ships is the best [emoji4][emoji485]
I like your style[emoji16]

Carry on is best.
Yes in your carryon. Some try to out two bottles in checked baggage and another 2 in carryon. The 2 in checked luggage will often be held and not given back until you disembark

I prefer to read this as: two bottles of "wine" per "stateroom". :p
Also, just go to chops with the bottle already opened. You'll be fine. I always bring my Old Vine Zinfidel by Kirkland. We laugh at the reactions we get from the staff. This wine is just incredible.
Not true. If you take the bottle even if open you are subject to the corkage fee. Each person takes a glass of wine and you're ok

Ok so we all agree. 2 bottles of wine or champagne per STATEROOM. And not the mega sized bottles [emoji16]

Is the tip included in the price pp or do you give more ? I hope this isint a controversial question

If you mean tipping at a specialty restaurant, most people do tip. But I do think it's included in the extra price Personally I don't do specialty. Main dining room works for me. If I'm going to spend $40 at an Italian restaurant I will do that at home

Royal is taking care of things. We've heard from someone on the ship that they are good and the weather is fine where they are. Just because Royal hasn't made a definitive statement like Carnival doesn't mean people on the ship are in peril. They are fine.

There is a very long thread on this topic. Search for: What's the most useful thing you pack

As long as you are on the ship why don't you ask at Guest Services what they are going to do. I would guess that they have plans in place for such happenings.
J.
Exactly. There is paperwork to complete for this onboard. You can disembark early. Plus this is a great advertisement for having a passport and not cruising on your birth certificate!

I would leave the sloth decision to the parents. Will they be on the cruise too? I would not want this responsibility as a grandparent

If I knew there was an Indian restaurant on a ship from the USA I would sail her for sure. I love Indian food!!!

It seems virtually no one wants to pay the fare before they have to -- which makes sense to me. But why do so many like to pre-pay service charges to "get it out of the way"?
The only thing that can keep me up at night is knowing I owe someone money. So if I pay the gratuities in advance I sleep better [emoji16]

OP perhaps you can price out your cruise on MSC and let us know the difference in the totals. I'm curious now.

I roll most of our tshirts and shorts and they shake out perfectly after hanging them in the closet.
Our dress clothes are left on hangers, covered with a dry cleaning bag and folded in half on top of our rolled clothes. No wrinkles!!
Been doing this for years!!!
