But....really...i do. Just got back from my free 8 day cruise on the breeze...i won 3000!!! I won 2000 on one of those tall pull tabs they sell at bingo...and i won a jackpot of over 1000 on a machine last night. I won several other amounts...from 100 to 400..
All on small bets...between .40 and 1.35. Walked off the boat with a bit over 3 grand!!!
The ports were beautiful..
The dr suess at sea is wonderful and the breakfast was well worth the 5 bucks per person.
Will post more...and pictures when i get home tomorrow. Staying at hard rock tonight.....a great big huge beautiful hotel near ft lauderdale.
Then Don't :) But if I were you I'd be bragging too. :D

As long as it is ice cold, I find it pretty good.

I would think so. I purchased my wife a bracelet on board that they delivered to our table at dinner.

He will have to wait until the bus is full. Could be up to an hour or so because I would think that most people using self-debark are driving or have other plans other than Carnival transfers leaving the port.

We've been to N O several times and it is one of our favorite cities. Agree with all suggestions given especially the WWII museum.

Been the first at Red Frog several times and have never gotten a free drink

As I said earlier, the price dropped $130 total for the two of us, but I just noticed the taxes, port charges, etc. stayed the same. I know around here my taxes are based on the dollar amount spent so why didn't the tax portion of this cruise actually drop a little too?
The taxes and charges are not sales taxes and therefore not based on the cruise fare, they are taxes and fees paid to the ports where you are stopping.

I am able to log in and see funtimes

Not much around within walking distance. Stay somewhere on 17th Street if you want to walk to several restaurants and Shopping.

I would get something you can't buy here, I know Mount Gay is available here.

Does not the technology exists today that a "chip" can be implanted onto your S&S card that will contain an "app" that holds a "cube" that you can customize your daily schedule instead of printing a paper daily "Fun Times"...Carnival could place scanners all around the ship where you could swipe your S&S card to receive updates and changes or link it to a kiosh
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has such an "app" today that you can download on your tablet or cell phone...would not work on a cruiseship because of high charges for wifi and roaming cost which means most folks turn off their devices for the entire length of their cruise
Is JH and "the suits" working on this to be beta testedon the next

Need more than a few scanners around the ship with 2000 + people on Board

I'm sure I wouldn't recognize Quincy or Canton any more. I used to fly in on Ozark Airlines and the airport was so small!!! The luggage just got put in the terminal, no carousels or anything!!!
Ahhhh, the times, they are a changing!
Cheryl
Now the airport is larger and the planes are smaller. LOL Only a regional carrier to St Louis only with 7 passenger planes.

Keith, I student taught at Notre Dame HS in 1972. I'm glad Tony's is still there. How could the pizza recipe been lost? Is Carson Perry Scott still there? I loved my four years out there! It was very different than where I grew up in NYC!
Cheryl
The restaurant closed for several years and then his son reopened it as regular restaurant but no pizza. Everybody wanted the pizza but the recipe was gone, he found it put it on the menu and there were many happy campers again. Sorry Carsons has been closed for many years the building has been turned into apartments. I graduated from Quincy High in 73. Norte Dame and Christians Brothers High School were consolidated at the CB campus in the late 70's.

Swscruiser, I went to Culver Stockton College in Canton, MO! I student taught in Quincy! Is Tony's Pizza restaurant still there? They had such great pizza!!!!
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl,
Tony's is still here but in a different location. However, the pizza recipe was lost for over 10 years when Tony's son was going thru some old boxes etc and found it. Same great pizza. When did you student teach in Quincy?

Will you be renting a car? Cabbing it? That's probably a 15-20 min. ride from the hotels you mentioned.
Probably a car, but may cab it.

Avis the next day would be my recommendation. None of the Downtown Miami offices have shuttle service to the pier. Hertz is 1/2 block away. but avis is open on Sunday morning when we sailed 2 years ago

Thanks for this post,
Does anyone have a review of Sophia Robbemont
I hope she is harmonica friendly
Hope you ask the other guests if they mind you playing your harmonica in the piano bar. That would drive me away not there to hear an harmonica.

I find that the port you are cruising from has more impact on the # of snobby people on board as the cruise line you are sailing.
NOLA driving or flying- thoguhts.

12 hour drive for us also. Have done both multiple times and much prefer flying, if only for the return, only a two hr drive home from St Louis Airport.
