  1. Thanks a lot for the great info. I am a machinist and history nut (mostly WWII) and often see things from a different angle than others. My two adult sons will be with me and we are looking forward to seeing the industry and waterway infrastructure.

If you have the time be sure to visit the WWII Museum, did this last summer stayed for 3-4 hours could have spent all day.

  2. I've researched getting from Hobby to Galveston and come to the conclusion its not easy especially if you come in the day before. If coming in the day of I would use the Ships transfer which seems to be the least expensive. Coming in the day before and want to stay in Galveston the day before it's either a taxi or a limo service, which seems to be about the same price. $100-$140 each way. Good Luck in whichever you choose

  3. Ironic since they show it on the ships TV channel all during the cruise!

I still cruise for Warm Chocolate Melting Cake (with 2 sugar-free vanilla ice-creams!)[/quote

Never seen the adult show on Cabin TV

  4. The whole bacon thing is funny!

We're just off the Splendor a few days ago and they even have HAM police now!

Yes, the ham was right next to the bacon and the bacon police also served the ham. One little half slice. But you could ask for more and they didn't hesitate to hand out as much as you wanted.

I guess by next summer's cruise they will be handing out the sausage too! LOL

No need to police the sausage, to me it is inedible.

  5. We cruise 10 times a year on Carnival and we have noted 3 variations.

On the big ships like Dream, Magic and Dream; you go to the theater or diningroom, get a safely lecture and leave.

Other ships do the old fashion to the muster station but we have not dragged lifejackets in about 3 years.

The third variation, meet someplace (ours was a back lounge), and then from there, everyone walks to the muster station (this seems to be the rarest type on the ships, but it isn't new, we did this on the Freedom, and Splendor back in 2010.

We've done all of these in the past year also.

  6. two things One if you use a nationwide Pharmacy they may be able to fill it for you in Alaska. We are from Ill and were able to fill my wifes script from CVS in Louisiana for Nardil for her migranes. Two My DW migraines would last for 5-10 days at a time, she went to the Diamond Headache clinic in Chicago. The were able to control them for the last several years.

  7. First of all anything with Skyy Passion Fruit Vodka. It is made with natural juices which makes it good all by itself.:D Also being Skyy it does not cause hangovers. ;)

Also, Bacardi Limon is very good in everything especially iced tea.

Anyone ever try X-rated. It is a vodka based passion fruit and other flavors liquor. It is excellent by itself or with red bull for an Xbomb.

If $ are no object the best vodka in the world is Stoli Elite. Whatever you mix with it all you taste is the mix. It is 90 proof but almost tastes like water, just very very slight burn (could be trouble) Price is about $65 a 750ml in the states, but worth every penny. I really like Grey Goose, but Elite makes it taste like Kerosene, but better at twice the price.

  8. Carnival Celebration Nov 88, 7-day Eastern Caribbean, San Juan, St Thomas, and St Marteen. Had planned to go to Cancun, but Hurricane Hugo? hit a month before we were to arrive and TA suggested a cruise instead. Paid more for that cruise with an outside cabin than we did last June for a 7-day balcony.:D So yes it did get us hooked.
