  1. I am good at math, and last cruise as Platinum level, checkin allowed at 18days go figure. I will keep you posted on checkin for Aug cruise. Maybe a computer glitch? I am concerned this cruise though, traveling with disabled senior parents that are “gold” and hope to get close boarding times.
  2. From my experience you can skip all the questions, check in online to get a time slot and go back and fill in.
  3. They accept an approved positive test as your documentation as long as Covid positive trst is less than 90 days from cruise and more than ten days from sailing date. The test must be an approved digital or medical location documentation. Not a home test.
  4. Yes, last cruise nd Feb on Radiance the “tacos” side of Blue Iguana had the smaller corn tortillas, which no way would work for the burritos. Burritos were wheat or Jalapeño.
  5. I like corn too, maybe make a corn tortilla sandwich to hold all of burrito toppings.
  6. Second vote in Funfetti cheesecake. I too love creme brulee- ask for a hard top one, last cruise they brought melted mush- worst ever. In case you didn’t know, the tropical fruit plate ( fresh fruit) (or cheese I assume but never tried) can be ordered as an appetizer. Also in past mains can be an appetizer, and appetizers a main meal (as many as like.) I highly recommend the brunch at sea, the steak & eggs worth it. Best meal we really enjoy.
  7. Thank you- assume then she did not get to use the wheelchair as never seen kne in an escalator? So you used ramp, pulling luggage and she did escalator? Traveling with to seniors who would benefit from a wheel hair, but we will have carryons, so tough to assist. Hope fingers crossed elevator works. Another question- what time did you arrive, and did you have to wait in a line before getting in being with mobility issues? Mine will have canes at this point, but no way can do the ramp up in Long Beach.
  8. The Carnival Radiance offers Thermalspa is missing the pool, it has heated loungers, a steam room, a hot sauna, and a less hot sauna with salt rock walls. Also an open shower with aromatherapy (cold) if I recall from spa tour. The advantage is the use of these VIP amenities is $200 for cruise (4 day). The spa cabin offers use of a yoga mat, a container of salt scrub (get right away before gone.) priority spa appointments. I did read watch cabin location as one spa deck has kids club above it (deck 11 I believe, and does not have roof above on balcony.) I have attached flyer we received while on embarkation day spa tour. Prices and offerings may have changed. p.s. they shrunk the locker room shower area significantly, we used to use spa showers when it was the Victory, now I think only one shower in womens area.
  9. Thank you for info. Looking forward to cruise- sailed in afeb, but covid cancel in June. Really appreciate it. A bit disappointed Ensenada change from port side but acaralina is a great trade on view. Prior cruise we enjoyed looking down on the sea lions on the Ensenada pier. We watched crew get ropes to leave (which requires going past sea lions) the two crew were “discussing” “I did it last time - you go…” they made a run & hopped over concrete barrier and un hooked ropes. Can’t imagine why Carnival doesn't give crew a safe passage to ropes easier.
  10. We are sailing same cruise in Aug, bringing Senior parents with us, since they like sitting just watching from balcony - which way did ship face in Ensenada please- was the port side looking down on pier, or starboard. Same with Avalon tendering- which side faced the tendering boats and Avalon? Thanks. Can you comment on lines for Long Beach check in? They cannot stand long, and wondering if had a handicap line. Appreciate anyone chiming in.
  11. Was the Platinum/Diamond Lounge open again? They were using it for covid testing prior.
  12. Can you order a drink while in MDR? The casino players offer says anywhere onboard. Thanks.
  13. Minor question- which way did the ship face in Catalina (Avalon) and Ensenada? we will be port side and 3mo ago on Radiance enjoyed watching sea lions below us on dock shore from port side . Hoping senior parents can see them from balcony & watch tendering while in Avalon from port side again. Thanks
  14. they checked it…supposedly nothing to change or “all work like that” 🙄 made do with ice. Thanks now have the facts
  15. How was your room mini fridge? We sailed Radiance Feb 28,2022 in 9226, our refrigerator did zero cooling. Pulled out & found NO condensor just a a fan. Basically a plastic box. Missed June 13 cancelled, rebooked Aug same cabin area.
  16. I What entree was stuffed chicken first night? I am bored with sweet & sour chicken! Pie too? We sailed Radiance end of Feb and were supposed to sail a week before but husband tested positive after packing! We are rebooked for and booked again cabins away from yours 👍 Curious if menus changed, if Guys burgers were improved. Until four years ago were Hoosiers 20yrs in Carmel.
  17. Dang that must be a strong drink- I would call it girl now on the floor! In the waaay back machine isn’t that a large Kamikaze? Last time drank those Michael Jackson’s Thriller video premiered and end of my nite was not pretty in pink like this photo! Thanks for taking us along on your cruise.
  18. Thank you - inquiring cruisers minds would like to know about your experience and answer you receive. (all subject I know to employees interpretation.) Would also like to know if when checking in if they just look at covid test results, scan a QR code as we will have senior family doing tests potentially different than ours being out of state and do not even know what QR codes are 😉. Thanks.
  19. Rom is there a way to post your dr.s letter as an example? Of course blocking out personal/ physician info. I would like to see sample LOR that people have used. All just in case- if a Carnival employee doesnt understand. Iam planning my husband doing another test pre-cruise like rest of us- makes it easier, no questions need to be explained.. It is day 12 and tested neg. at home test.
  20. You are welcome. We were to sail in June for an Anniversary Cruise on Radiance, but my husband tested surprisingly covid positive. We are rebooked in Aug.so can answer more questions or verify.
  21. 1.)Yes to extension- make sure No surge protector is part of it, those are not allowed. 2.)I can add- a small collapsible cooler (Carnival size is 12” x 12”j - you can always put in shower or sink if your seams are leakproof. Good for excursion, and keeping items cold in room. 3.) Sailing out one is allowed to bring on up to 12- 12oz cans of a soda, seltzer, juice etc. 4.)I prefer for cruise convenience pre purchasing bottled water from Carnivals gift shop under beverages. Same can be done for other items - cake, cookies, room decoration, even liquor. etc. 5,)Carnival has switched to us g sugar dispensers, which I found inconvenient if I was in our cabin, or away from lido area (buffet.) I bring sugar packets in a ziploc and carry some with me. OR plan ahead in Lido area, fill a spare cup with sugar to use. Same goes for lack of straws - for environment they cut them out. So plan ahead. They do have the pink/blue packets yet, but also had to ask for Splenda (yellow packets)if needed that type. Just plan ahead. 6.) If in a balcony room and curtain light bothers you- clip it closed with one of the hangers in closet with clips for pants. 7.)We also cover the bathroom drains to avoid any smells from going into room just in case. 8.) Never open balcony door and hall door at same time- it becomes a cabin wind fest. Same goes for closing doors - please be courteous and just let them go and not letting them slam. 9.)MOST IMPORTANT - in main dining room you can order as many appetizers, mains, desserts in combo or two’s. No rules on quantity. 10.)Wind on deck /piers- watch your hats, and if you put your sign n’sail card on a lanyard- I have seen them flyoff. 11.)I being an insulated commuter cup (with a lid that seals well) for beverages. Also some ziplocs- (plastic sealed bags) that way the cookies, or say banana bread or danish from breakfast I brought to cabin from lido keeps fresh for snack later. However you cannot bring any not sealed from manufacturer anytime off ship.
  22. I hope you can return the favor helping us answer a few questions for our apAug Radiance sailing. It is a rebooked Anniversary cruise from June but husband tested positive. However this cruise my Senior parents sailing with us, They do not need wheelchairs all the time, but concerned about embarkation with them.. Looking for Long Beach terminal answers . likely dropping luggage curbside with Seniors after parking, anyone see carnival pushing wheelchairs while outside terminal? .2.) Trying for a 10:30 arrival time. Can a fellow cruiser note when they called boarding order for platinum, or those needing assistance / wheelchair? thanks. (parents are not platinum, but celbrating 61yrs marriage! 3.) arrival and appointment time how long a wait to get inside terminal? .4.) Any line for handicap when you arrive at terminal building? All this will be familiar yet new as last sailed Radiance ith only 1100 passengers, expecting it near full+ in Aug. :
