  1. Thank you Jacqui and everyone. Debbie’s comment on possible port substitution is right in every way. So excited to return to Canada, and of course our BHB!
  2. I was DESPERATE for a cut on our March cruise, and it was literally the best cut I ever had. The stylist told me about every product he used. At the end of the session, I told him I wanted to live with it for the duration of the cruise (2 weeks), then I would come back and talk to him again. Which I did. Then I told him I wasn’t going to spend $200 on hair products, but what did he think was the single most important. We had a very good conversation, I bought a couple of items, and tipped him for taking another 20 minutes to talk with me. He was also good enough to tell me some details about the cut for me to tell my home stylist, so 6 months later I’m still a happy customer!
  3. Hello Everyone, All our Floridians are in my thoughts. I’m watching Weather Channel right now, and it looks as rough as any of seen. Stay safe, stay smart. @dfish, so happy for you and your sister! The house looks so nice, and a great yard as well. I’m looking forward to celebrating with you when we meet on that BHB. @kazu, I expect you realize that this is not the best forum to get an unbiased opinion regarding cruising. Put my vote in the column that says a holiday cruise is a wonderful thing. @Cruzin Terri, my heart aches for you. My best to our Dailyite family.
  4. @TiogaCruiser, Oh yeah on Cantore. We have family in coastal NC, and when Jim shows up at Wrightsville Beach, you can bet there’s going to be a storm. @smitty34877, thank you so much for letting us know about Camilla’s dad, what a relief! Eternal Father, Strong to Save - I do love the Navy Hymn. @marshhawk, your idea of a rotisserie bed is a good one! My right hip particularly likes it. O Canada, so sorry for the misery visited on you by Fiona. Florida, may Ian decide to just be a meteorological fizzzle. My very best to all my CC buddies.
  5. As always, @richwmn, thanks for the Days and maps. I expect I am not the only one who got a little misty with the memories the quote brought of my wedding day. We visited KSC several years ago on a land trip; our first stop at Port Canaveral is about 6 weeks away, and we are happy to return to the space center. Our weather is still quite warm (low 90’s), but the humidity is markedly reduced. This makes my world much more pleasant! Best to everyone ~~
  6. @RedneckBob, I guess you taught Thor a thing or two! Since it worked, there’s no harm in continuing the practice. You could be a feature story on your local TV news. May your storms be fewer now.
  7. @ger_77and @1ANGELCAT, I just saw the headlines too, and of course thought of Gerry. I hope you and your friends and family are safe. Best~~
  8. @StLouisCruisers, Sandi, your DD has such an eye! I do love seeing the Tree of the Season! Thanks to both of you.
  9. Maybe it's because mine is not OBC from a promotion. Some is shareholder, some is military, and some is so old I don't remember where it came from. That at least makes a little sense where nothing else does.
  10. Yes, booked online, but through the ShoreExcursion links when I go to my booking number. I will check on it again. ARGH!
  11. @sofietucker I just called, and they wouldn't let me use the OBC directly. I had to pay as I book, then go to the ShoreEx desk at boarding and (optimistically) they will refund. This seems astonishingly inefficient, but if it works it's at least acceptable. I guess it's all about cash flow.
  12. Allow on board credit to be used for advance online booking of shore excursions.
  13. Thanks, @ACorgan! I'm eager to follow along on your trip; we are on a similar one in 6 weeks.
  14. A couple of iconic Tulsa restaurants. In the past year, one met the fate @marshhawkmentioned. It was a family-owned white table cloth restaurant with good food and good service. After about 52 years, it was sold to a local entrepreneur who has other restaurants in town. They did some updating of the space, tweaked the menu, raised the prices —- and killed it. We went once, and the previously delicious food was too salty to eat. Our favorite server went to the kitchen to sample, and agreed with us. 😢 The other is a far happier story. Nelson’s has been in business since 1929. Currently there are 2nd - 4th generation members working there every day. It’s a breakfast and lunch diner; food and menu essentially the same for the 40 years I’ve eaten there. Yummy comfort food in a place that looks every inch a diner. Maybe we’ll have lunch there today! I can picture an I Love Lucy episode of yesterday’s quartet of painters. That would be a hoot! Thanks everyone for caring and sharing ~~
  15. @aliaschief, thank you for the spectacular pictures. The views we can only get at sea.
  16. @kazu, thank you for the pictures of your two adorable house guests! @Vict0riann, happy birthday! @grapau27, a slightly belated but nonetheless heartfelt happy 41st anniversary for you and Pauline. @ger_77, you and DH have had quite the year! I hope you are both feeling better. All my best to all my Daily friends ~~
  17. @kazu HOORAY! So glad that Liz was able to think smart with great success. Such relief for all.
  18. We had starboard deck 4 in March/April. Wonderful place to call home. You could have a dance party on the side portion of the veranda.
  19. @ger_77, so sorry that both you and DH have the darned insidious virus! Wishing all of you good rest and speedy recovery. @kazu, sending love and strength. Thanks for all the beautiful pictures of Venice; we have enjoyed two wonderful stops there; an early morning sail in is among my favorite cruise memories. A recommended book is City of Falling Angels by John Berendt. He is also the author of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Falling Angels has to do with the fire that destroyed the old Fenice opera in 1996. Have a good Sunday~~
  20. @kazuI can only echo the sentiments of others. There are no words - only the love and strength for healing that we and all your friends have for you.
  21. @Horizon chaser 1957, your good-humored tale of kitchen woe gave DH and me a laugh. We’ll follow you to Horizons, but maybe not kitchen challenges!
  22. Good Saturday morning! @Crazy For Cats, your late great vacuum was uncommonly thoughtful to give up the dust on tax-free weekend! @grapau27, I have just read a book that made passing reference to the anvil at Gretna Green, so your information is timely and appreciated! Thank you to Food and Beverage, and to everyone who takes the trouble to post photos and memes. My best ~~
  23. Oh my, so much sadness in our group. I am stunned at the news about Shadow, and disgusted at the thought that anyone could withhold this information. So cruel to every soul involved. In the face of all that --- I appreciate being mentioned on the celebrations list, and welcomed home. We had a wonderful visit, and were so relaxed. The descriptor that kept coming to my mind was "healing" although we are fortunate not to have any obvious troubles needing healing. Anyhow, a wonderful time. Except for an unexpected 9 hour delay at Dallas Love Wednesday night. There were storms, and much-needed rain. It was after 3:00 a.m. on Thursday when we finally got in our front door, but we and all luggage arrived safely. Travel is sometimes difficult, but always worth it. Good wishes to @richwmn on your birthday - looking forward to meeting you and other Dailyites in about 2 months. Hooray for everyone who is celebrating. Heartfelt healing wishes for those with illness, grief, and troubles. My best, as always ~~
