No charge for chat on the Royal App.  Only reported to function on Harmony and Allure.

excellent!   So to confirm, I just download the app, add my friends and we can chat on there for free?   No need to buy a voom package

Here’s what I did -    I read many posts about Kotor here and on TripAdvisor. .

I ended up finding three tour companies that got good reviews and sounded great.   I emailed them with my questions, and chose one that was most helpful with planning the day.

Since most cruise ports are only one day, there’s never enough time to see everything.  I hope you can someday return to your favorite spots.

    Good luck!       Lynda

    thanks!

  3. I'll be in Kotor from 9am - 7pm.   I want to do it all!   Is there a way to do a water tour (blue cave, Lady of the Rock, Submarine base) AND get up to Lovcen?   I'm concerned w/ traffic on the serpentine and  either missing the 1/2 half of the day (if I were to do land first) or missing the ship.

    Thoughts?

How do I pick?  What would you recommend I see?   They both seem so amazing and this is a once in a lifetime trip.

Unless you are willing to switch between traditional and MTD, you are unlikely to get a choice on which level to sit. For that large a group, traditional might work better - don't worry about location in the MDR.

    thank you!

  5. Greetings.

Can you please let me know if there is a difference among the three MDRs on the Allure?     As an example, on the NCL Escape, all three had the same menu, but one was much louder, one was much slower and one was "just right".   Do you have a preference on the Allure?  I have a very large group - 15 rooms.  While I don't expect us all at one table, I'd like to be able to see/talk to everyone.  This is our one "ok, everyone regroup" point each day.

Thoughts?  Which do you prefer and why?

    thanks!

  6. Hello!    We just booked our first MSC cruise on the Meraviglia in March of 2021.   My daughter has celiac disease.  How does MSC do with food allergies?

any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

We went on a few RCI cruises in the past couple years on Allure and always prebooked our shows so I could plan excursions and dinner times around show times. We're cruising again on Oasis in July and I've been waiting for them to release the shows and they haven't so I just called and found out that in March RCI no longer lets you prebook your shows. I'm so frustrated about that. We're a large group in 4 rooms and that's the last thing I want to do when I get on the ship is stand in some long line to set up our reservations... Any one else frustrated with this or is it just me.

I'm sailing July on Allure.  I was told today they will have them out soon.  the window is 60-90.

I got an email a couple hours ago adjusting our April 21st cruise. We leave P.R. at 1:30 day 5 instead of 2:00, we get into Labadee day 6 at 10 instead of 9:30 and leave there at 5 instead of 6. No other changes are shown.

Do you think they'll limp along like this for quite some time, or do you think they'll cancel somewhere and do a drydock

  9. I haven't been on a MG on Royal yet, but the one we just had two weeks ago on NCL was great.  We had a private restaurant to ourselves.  NCL had appetizers and drinks for all.  There was live music and the officers came.   CC had name tags for everyone.

Our group had organized a magnet exchange and slot pull on their own.

it was hosted on noon the 1st day (an at sea day).  it worked well.

I've read where some MGs have cruise ship swag or giveaways.  That would have been fun.

the one thing I REALLY wished we would have done was take a group picture.  By the time I thought of it, many had already left.  We had well over 80 people attend, so it was a lot of fun

You are being overly kind in your description of the interaction with vendors behind the standing market as being unpleasant.  They are more bothersome than the street vendors in Tijuana.  I live in Southern Ca. near the boarder and cross it semi annually to satisfy my taco cravings.

can you give more info on the street vendors?  I was naively thinking they wouldn't be allowed inside "the compound".  Do they come up to at the beach, or is it typically just at the dock.  Trying to prepare my group.  thanks!

I don't see the show on the cruise planner for a mid-May sailing.  Is it something that is booked on board/you just show up? Or maybe it won't be offered as the Dreamworks contract will be over then?

    Thanks,

    Linda T.

I suspect it'll be gone.   The blog post I read said all of the DW shows would be replaced with "family friendly shows designed by RC Productions"   https://www.*****.com/2018/12/07/royal-caribbean-will-cease-dreamworks-programming-its-ships-2019

There are sharks in EVERY body of salt water...cove or open ocean....don't tell her that!  Bull sharks will even enter fresh water rivers......

The good news is they won't bother you.  We used to go the the Chesapeake Bay in Va.....there was a fishing pier, where folks were forever catching hammerheads....we swam and played right there.  No one was ever attacked...and hammerheads are not nice sharks.

Just tell her there are no sharks.....she'll be fine.

    Lol.  Thanks 🙂
