Ok another silly question. We booked a cruise a few months ago with a TA. Celebrity was running one of there many promo's and we picked the classic drink pkg.(non discounted cruise) I have been reading on these boards about making sure its on our reservations. Checked today and not sure where to look. Saw something about Wave promo and mentioned purchased.

We have second cruised booked and we were not able to take advantage of the same promo (due to booking a military rate) When I open this reservation same thing shows (Wave promo and purchased) How do I know if we really have the classic pkg. with the promo on the non discounted cruise? Very confused and if I call Celebrity will they answer this question because we used a TA,

  2. Thank you this is a great review. Can't wait to read the rest. We have cruised and done this repo 3 yrs ago. Had a blast! Hello to the gang, Denise, Cheryl, Joe to name a few. Maybe one day we will cruise again with you guys.

Husband I are doing the Oct repo then staying on to do the same cruise that you did in Feb. So I have also read your Feb. Summit review. Heather your review are so well written. Keep up the great job. I do have a question for you. On this cruise you posted about the cabin on this cruise. What deck was that on? Wished I knew about the cabin you had for the Feb cruise. Sounds like a great cabin. We have a OV on deck 3 this cruise. We have to change cabins on the second part of the cruise. Because of this I always checking to see what becomes available.

  3. What I thought I said is that you don't have to pack all your items. For example you do not have to pack your hanging items in the closet. Your cabin steward (current or future room) should be able to find a clothes rack and move these items for you. Likewise some large items can just be carried rather than packed as if you were leaving the ship and heading to an airport. This would especially be the case if your cabin is right across the hall. You can discuss this with your cabin stewards a few days before the end of your first segment so you'll know what you need to do and what they will assist you with.

Thanks Larry for your quick response. You have been very helpful.

  4. ON b2b cruises at USA ports, including San Juan (a USA territory), you have to go through customs. As others have said you can do this during the general disembarkation if you are going ashore for the day or you can do it at the end of general disembarkation along with other B2B cruisers who are staying on the ship. You do not have to take your possessions off with you as it is more of an immigration check than a customs import check. If you are staying in your cabin then you don't need to pack anything. If you are changing cabins you will have to pack most, but not all, items to move them (or have your cabin stewards move them) to your next stateroom but you do not have to take them off the ship and through customs.

At most non USA ports there is no such requirement to pass through customs and immigration on closed loop (round trip) cruises and you can just stay on the ship or walk off and on more or less at your leisure.

We are doing our first B2B in Oct. We do have to change cabins, as our category is not available on the second part of the B2B, We have to move across the hall. What I didn't understand in your post is the statement about not having to move all items. Could you explain.

  5. Insides too??,, I booked a while ago but wasn't offered any perk. Hmmmmm mind you I'm in one of the lowest categories but would consider upgrading. At the time I booked, only Oceanview and up had the offers

I thought the 1 2 3 perks were for OV and above. I was just told that yesterday when I put a hold on a cabin for a B2B. Second leg of the trip had no OV's left so we booked an inside, and where told no drink package offer. I need to check this out!!!!!!!

  6. Hi again! Im going to book the 1/3/2015 Gem cruise. Last year if I recall correctly, it was 2 dinners for 2 with wine and a bottle in the cabin and chocolate covered strawberries I think! Between that perk, my Platinum perks and the Casino comping us we ate at a specialty every night but 1 and came home with 3 bottles of wine we didnt have at dinner!

I pulled the trigger and booked the 5/12/14 Carnival cruise on Splendor. Bill has to go to a convention that week and I hate being alone for that long so when The Taj Mahal gave us a free Carnival cruise I figured why not! Im going with a gal friend of mine thats turning 65 and has never cruised. (Im treating her for her birthday) I got a balcony cabin for under 400 TOTAL in taxes and fees:D:D:D

Barbara You should have a great time. Carnival is different then NCL but have always had a fun time on our Carnival cruises. The Splendor only has one specialty restaurant. Food in the main dinning room is fine. Enjoy your cruise with you friend, what a nice way to celebrate her 65

  7. Hi Ed and Lynn! The Taj Mahal is giving me a free cruise (not comped) just port charges etc for a balcony on Carnival. Im thinking of going but the cruise I want to take is 8 nights and Imj not sure till Saturday how many days they are giving me. I figured for 500-600 bucks a cruise on ANY ship is a good deal!

Would love to cruise with you again, that was one of my top cruises! -I will be booking the Gem 1/3/15-1/12/15 in a few weeks to get the 9 month out perks. Are you going on the Gem again in January? We are also booked for the 6/28-7/5/14 Gem to Bahamas and Florida.

Great to talk to you again! the people on this Carnival board are VERY helpful.

Thinking of booking the Gem again. Have been looking at the end of Nov or beginning of Jan. Just not sure as we will be retiring and moving. What are the other perks of booking 9 months out I know you get double points, but anything else?

  8. I am thinking of the Splendor. Ive only been on RCCL and NCL.

Hi Remember us from the Gem. Ed and I just got off the Splendor about 2 weeks ago. We enjoyed our cruise. Do go and give Carnival a try. We went with an open minded and were not disappointed. As far as the dinning rooms Carnival has two dress up nights. Food in dinning room was good. But I didn't care for the buffets at night. Lunch time they have a Burrito bar, pizza, sandwiches made to order, Mongolian grill, grill for burgers and hot dogs, Indian food and upstairs a place that served chicken. They also had a buffet.I did prefer the buffet on the Gem. Casino was large but lots of older slot machines. Great brunches on sea days. Any other questions ask. Hope to cruise with you guys again.

  9. Thanks for this! I think I may still do it as this will be my fourth visit to Nassau but it all depends how I feel coming off the ship that day.

Yes, I will check with my roll call to see if anyone else would be interested in going.

Hi we cruised with you on the EOS Jan2012. I remember you as a very friendly person so I am sure you will find someone interested in going to the distillery with you. Ed and I went last Nov its a short tour with samples. There is a bar and patio with a gorgeous view of the water from a distance. Yummy drinks and nice wait staff and bartender. Follow all the suggestions poster have said. Crime happens everywhere just be use common sense. Enjoy your cruise.

  10. Yes, thats where it would be. JUst click your booking #.

We had an OV guarantee as well.

where it says "stateroom" ..I now have a number.

Guess I'll try again tomorrow. No assignment today. So did you get a decent cabin? Went on the web site and did fake booking. Looks like there are only2 ocean view cabins left. We would be happy with either one of those cabins.

  11. We received our cabin number for our upcoming Splendor cruise today.

Now, maybe we will get an upsell call or email..Maybe not.

I have received upsell emails before from them. Unless its really a good deal, I dont take it..

Just remember to answer the call..It is from area code 305 I believe.

Hi Limoguy We are on your Splendor cruise. We booked a ocean view guarantee and we still don't have a cabin assignment. Just got off the Carnival web site under Manage my cruise and it still states to be announced. I am I looking in the right place.?

  12. Please tell me what deck the Taste Bar is on. Also is there still a Sushi bar or has the Taste Bar replaced it. Another question what deck is the comedy club on. On the Pride it was a small venue and very hard to get seats, any suggestions.
