  1. We have 3 in our cabin. When we booked NCL gave us a choice of perks. We picked the $50 per person for 2, dining credit. Third person gets no credit. Just wondering if we can use some of this for the third person. Does anyone know if this credit can be used for Carlo's or at the raw bar.

  2. Junkanoo is great, have been going there every time we are in Nassau. We always sit at Jyah, he does a great job of cleaning up his beach area. Bathrooms there are always clean. We used to go to Sheraton but now see no reason to pay the crazy price the resorts want when Junkanoo is just fine, we can walk there, and there are plenty of vendors to buy food/drink.

Barry is a great guy, very friendly. Water is calm and very clear. So w quit going out to Cable. No reason to spend the $$ the resorts want. it is a total rip-off when all you get is a beach chair.

We have been to Junkanoo a few times and never know where to rent chairs and get a cool drink. Coming from the ship were is Jyah's?

  3. Thanks I definitely will! I also never "found" the rotisserie LOL

Hi Barbara rotisserie is upstairs, steps near the dessert area. Ed and I always found seats upstairs when it was crowded downstairs. Remember us from the Gem:) We are cruising the Splendor the beginning of June on a Premier Casino Cruise.[Enjoy your cruise.

  4. Thanks for the info everyone!

As far as knowing how much casino credit (or cash) it stated right on my offer when I went into my offers. I can't wait!:)

Hi Diane and Bruce its Lynn and Ed from the Splendor Jan 2014. Are you two doing a premier cruise. Ed got an offer and we are doing the Splendor on June 9. Would be great to have a drink at the Martini Bar with your two if your on this cruise.
  5. We have sailed out of NJ/NY every Jan for the past 10 Yrs. We find the weather can vary on the first full sea day and the last full sea day. It has never been warm enough to sit on the deck, unless you have coat, hat and gloves on. We don't care because we use these days to unwind and relax and enjoy what the ship has to offer. Others want to have sun and warm weather starting on the first day. So you need to decide what you want.

  6. Cruised when:

    The Royal wedding

    Hurricane Katrina hit

    Bin Ladan found

Left NYC in a hurricane (don't remember the name)skipped Boston going to NE and Canada

    Super Bowl when Giants won

Returned from a Cruise after Hurricane Sandy no electric in terminal NYC

Cruised when Explorer of the Sea hit something leaving Samana

Cruised Explorer when the ship arrived one day late to port (needed to bring a very sick passenger back to PR for medical attention

John Ritter my favorite actor died

So I agree we are kinda connected onboard a cruise ship.

Not cruising but on vacation in Las Vegas at 9/11 Very strange to see LasVegas Blvd empty and sad to see all the Memorials people put in front of the New York New York hotel. Frightening not knowing when we would get home to metro NY.

  7. Not one of the craziest but funny story. Hubby and I were on the Celebrity Silhouette and booked a concierge guarantee. End up with 1002 which is the first cabin at the bow of the ship. It was a very long walk from the mid elevators. We were coming but late from the casino. There was a couple ahead of us in the hallway. Maybe we were 15 cabins behind them. The female lifted up her dress to straighten out her thong. Get the picture. I don't even think they ever knew that we were behind them. Well it seemed that the rest of the cruise we would see them around the same time. To my husbands disappointment it never happen again.:D

Another time when we started cruising I forgot to close the drapes in our OV cabin. We were in port and I decided to take an early shower. Well I walked out of the bathroom buck naked. At the same time the crew was washing the outside windows of our cabin. I am sure the crew has many crazy stories to tell!!!!!!

  8. The Bacardi Factory doesn't even open till 9 am and 10 on Sunday.

Prior to boarding the tour bus you need to claim your luggage. Then you need to bring the luggage to a truck. The truck will bring your luggage to the airport. You then board a tour bus. This all takes time. At the San Juan airport you have to go though an agriculture check prior to going though security. This can take some time, depending on how busy the airport is. Also if you do the tour the bus driver might ask if anyone wants to go to a restaurant for food. Depending on flight times most will want to do this. I know the airport is boring but I wouldn't chance it. Too many things could go wrong.

  9. I booked a cruise almost a year in advance directly from RCL with a discounted deposit, and was told I would be put on a wait list for early dining . When I transferred the booking to a TA, the TA said I could get guaranteed early dining with them, but I had to increase my deposit. This type of inconsistency happens much too often and it really irks me. What other industry operates in such a confusing and irritating manner? This probably continues in the industry because only a few lines run the majority of cruises and each one sees the other gets away with this behavior. Every week it seems different rules apply to the same bookings. Irritated customers keep coming back!

from my iPad using Forums mobile app

Maybe they give the TA the assigned dining times. We booked with a TA and all times were available. I agree with you, all the silly things lots of cruise lines do. And yes it still doesn't stop us from cruising!!! LOL maybe we should all stop cruising. Maybe cruise lines will then listen to us.:D
  10. Some thoughts on waitlisted. We booked our March Grandeur cruise this past December. When we booked early, late, and MTD were all available. When I joined our roll call people who had booked months before us stated they had been waitlisted. I'm thinking that maybe Royal wants people to pay the pre paid gratuities. Money in their pocket sooner. Just a thought............;)

  11. Have a great trip.

I was one of the guest that got Noro. Not mush fun.

The Medical staff and crew were great.

I spent the last sea day in the room

Had to wait until ship was empty before they let us off..

Yikes sorry to hear that. Hopefully Mari didn't come down with it. A few yrs back Ed got Noro and I didn't. It is always a problem cruising during the winter months. This virus just seem more prevalent on cruise ships. Reason its a large group of people all together for 7-10 days. As I say a captive audience. Glad to hear that your cruise was great prior to getting sick. Take care and please say hello to Mari. Will be sailing the Grandeur March 3.
  12. We drove to the port and my husband brought his own beach chair. The type that folds and has its own container to carry. You know the type, full size chair some people might call them camp chairs. He brought it because he loves to fish and sometimes will fish on the piers (if allowed). He just folded it up and put in the canvas type case and tied it closed. He put a luggage tag on it and it was delivered with our luggage
