  1. On the Anthem now, 1000 kids onboard. Some of the parents are the rudest I’ve seen. They are the only folks unaware their kiddies are behaving so badly.

We once were on board a NCL ship during that week. Lots of children and parents were not controlling their children. Children in adults only hot tubs were throwing buckets of water at people as they walked by. In the theatre they were hanging over the railings of the balconies. Staff or parents did nothing!!!!!.

  2. I guess the check engine light came on and they chose Miami on this cruise to check it out.

Love this LOL!!!!! Just hoping we don't have any mechanical problems prior to Miami.

Just read some new posts from our roll call .People are angry and have brought up some good points. I agree with Lady Hudson regarding some compensation. This is not weather related its mechanical. I know the cruise contract say blah blah blah. Some people are happy with the changes but many are not. Many have made plans at the original ports dates and some can not be changed. Many will lose money. Hoping we have no issues prior to arriving in Miami.

I needed to vent. Now I will have to look on the bright side. We are on a cruise and not sitting in our homes or offices. Also escaping the cold northeast weather.

  3. Just a little upset about the port changes. One week prior to leaving Royal decides they are doing routine maintenance. If it is routine they should have know this earlier then this. Now we need to decide what to do the second day in Miami. Checked the cruise planner and not too many excursions to choose from. Has not been updated as of a few hours ago. Hoping they update and add some additional options.

I guess we will make the best of it. It's vacation and a cruise!!!!!!

  4. Just my thought on the extra 2 points. If you didn't pay for two extra days why would Royal give you two extra points? I would certainly be happy getting two extra days. If its free it's for me LOL This cruise experienced bad weather, noro and now mechanical issue. For many not the best cruise. But there are some things that we can not control. I have experienced the opposite. Many yrs back Explorer came in a day late because the Captain chose to return to a port to take a sick passenger back. We were on the next cruise and our cruise was shortened by one day. They did give us the extra point and gave us some onboard credit for the day missed. We were happy with this. Yes some rearranging had to be done for most. No one asked for discounts for next cruise etc. I am sure the patient's family was happy with the Captains decision to go back. Right decision was made.

  5. I think it was your last sentence, which makes you sound entitled.
Yes that last sentence did make me sound entitled. But that was not what I wanted to imply. I should not have posted that. I have been a member of CC for over 12 yrs. CC is a great site for information for both old and new cruisers. I guess we all have to remember this, including me. Sometimes the written word sounds worst then we think.
  6. We have walked the past few cruises but need to take a taxi this time. Wondering what entrance/street would be the best to catch a cab to the pier.If someone would know the approx. cost t that would help too. On the return I know there is a cab stand across from the pier. This is always crowded. Any suggestion to avoid the crowd. Maybe walking a block or two down. Would this help?

  7. I know you are taking a chance with a guarantee but that was all that was left. Leaving in 3 days June 10 on Gem. Last minute since we had some personal and health issues. Finally able to cruise and relax. Assigned cabin 8613 on Gem. Looks like the Bliss Lounge is right below us. Yikes I don't think we will get any sleep .Anyone stay in the aft on deck 8 aft. Is it very noisy? Wondering if there is a chance of changing cabins to another area. Have been on over 12 NCL cruises and this is what they give me!!!!!

  8. There are no "formal" nights. NCL takes the approach "Dress Up or Not".

All dining rooms allow shorts except Le Bistro and the aft main dining room (on small ships and the Epic). Or Le Bistro and the featured restaurant (Ocean Blue, Bayamos

    .

Shorts for men? Talking dress shorts. Have to travel light this time just wondering.

  9. Have not cruised NCL in 2 yrs. I am platinum and forgot how the benefits work. Do we receive vouchers for the specialty dinning. Also read that I will receive 2 dinners for 2. Is this new? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I read there is a $20 limit for each entrée. Also do the add a 18% to the free meals?

  10. Is there a place on the Anthem where you can get regular coffee or tea and small sandwiches or cookies/cakes? I know that some of the Royal ships have these places and there is no charge for this. Sometimes in the middle of the day I just want a cup of tea and a cookie, without paying additional fees.

  11. Could you walk from the cruise port to Faneuil Hall? We love to walk and if its a mile or little more and nice weather its doable. Direction would help. Also we could also catch a cab. Cost? Can 4 adults share a cab? I am not a snob but because of a recent illness I can not be in crowded buses.

  12. Just finished reading lots of reviews of the Anthem. Very helpful being our first time on this ship. Most reviews say there is no soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. I do bring the last three items but never bring soap. Do they supply soap or is this another item I need to add to my packing list.
