On our last Anthem cruise I always had a Gin and Tonic before dinner. The fun thing is the waiter in the DC brought it in a large water glass and told me I looked like I could handle it. I never needed more than one
Tom
My husbands favorite Gin and Tonic. Second best is a dirty Martini.

If I am correct a French 75 is a sparking wine cocktail with lemon juice, simple syrup and gin. Correct me if I'm wrong. Going to try this in Feb. Sounds interesting. Last year I did Jameson and fruit punch and a Jameson sour. Not a fan but Baileys and Jameson sounds delish. They were ok. Had cosmo's and chocolate martinis and they were yummy.

Thanks Bob I was trying to research some older posts. Guess I didn't see this one. Some ideas on the second photo:http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=47963885&postcount=12

Lets have some fun with the complimentary liquor, beers and wines they offer. What cocktails were made for you using the list. I know they will not make frozen drinks but its always fun to know what others have been drinking. This will be our second time diamond on our Feb. cruise.

Did she mention time and cost of the classes. We have done some cooking classes in other island and had a blast. Interested in hearing what info you got.I just received a map from Nicole. It's approx 5km from the cruise port & looks like it's mostly uphill. Apparently most people take a 15min taxi ride. -
A little confused hopefully someone can answer this for me. I recently booked Anthem of the Sea and it was when they were doing away with Dynamic Dining. We always picked late dining when we cruise. We were told when we booked that the only MTD was available but we would be put on a waitlist for late dining. Well today I looked at my cruise planner and it now says Dynamic Dining Classic with a 8:15pm time. I would guess that we now have the late dining but why is Dynamic Dining still being used? I thought that as of the end of Nov. only MTD early and late seating are the choices on Anthem. Perhaps Royal needs to update their cruise planner.

Sailing the Anthem in April. Wondering with the elimination of dynamic dinning if there is a formal night onboard?

I am thinking it may be too late to book online now. This is a girls cruise for me. Traveling with my Mom (89) and my sister. Not sure if my Mom would be interested in doing this, but my sister and I are. They are flying in on Thursday and will find out then. Will pop over to the Carnival site and see if it still can be booked. Thanks for the heads up on the allergy info.Etski, we are on your cruise too & are doing the Chef's Table. We booked online ahead of time. It is my understanding that it fills up quickly. I also did some research ahead of time & they do accommodate those with allergies just let them know when you book it. I am a picky eater so I am hoping that I will be able to at least taste each item. -
Enjoying your review. I do have a few question regarding the Chef's Table. Did you book onboard or prior to boarding? Interested in doing this but have some food allergies and need to find out if they can accommodate me. I have done Chef's table on another line and it was a wonderful experience. Thank you again for doing this review. Can't wait to board this coming Sunday.

First I would like to thank you for your service in the US Navy. Hubby served in the Navy 45 yrs ago. Second I am enjoying your review. Perfect timing since my 89yr. old mom, sister and I will be cruising on the Pride a week from this Sunday. I sailed on the Pride 2yrs ago and can't wait to see the upgrades. I do have a silly question. I recently read a review of the Pride. The poster stated there is a charge for regular coffee and tea in the MDR. Say it isn't true. I do know that there is a charge for specialty coffee but never for coffee, tea, ice tea and lemonade in the MDR.

Leaving soon on the Pride. Would love to know the least expensive way to get from the pier to Cocoa Beach. I remember years ago they had a shuttle that would take you to the Beach. Do they still have this and the cost. Also anyone know the price of doing this by taxi?
-
Did you take the bus? If so where did you get it and do they take American dollars?Love!!!! Valley Church Beach, our cost $1.50 per person each way. Enjoy!! Get there early. -
Hi folks,
Literally just got home after a week on board Carnival Pride. We sailed from Baltimore on 23 October and were supposed to go to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Freeport. Well, that turned into Grand Turk and Nassau.
Cruising on the Pride in 2 weeks. Just wondering if they told you why you didn't go to Freeport.
-
I too would like to know the price. Traveling with 3 in Nov. trying to decide if the shuttle will be a better option then a taxi.Do you recall the price for the CoCoa Beach Shuttle? We are on the Pide for Halloween and trying to plan and budget. We were also looking at the Family Beach Day, were there any older kids there like 9-12yo's? -
Cruised on the Grandeur beginning of March. Had no problems at all. Food was good, service was excellent. We are booked again for a 12 night next Feb. It's true the Grandeur does not have all the bells and whistles you would find on the newer ships. They do have a rock climbing wall. Movies outside weather permitting and a very nice aerial show.

We had a OV on deck 3 a few weeks ago. We could not fit our luggage under the bed. We pulled the small couch out from the wall and put our luggage behind the couch against the wall. This worked well for us.
-
If anthem is coming back early to avoid storm why is grandeur still scheduled to leave Baltimore on Wednesday heading to Caribbean.
Thinking the same thing.
-
Ok first let me say enjoy the remainder of the cruise. Make the best of it and don't let this ruin your vacation. Now I do have a question. Exactly what day did the captain think this storm would reach Hatteras? Wondering as we are leaving on the Grandeur out of Baltimore on March 2. Need to be prepared for a rough ride or possible delayed departure!!!!!!
-
Leaving soon on the Grandeur just wondering which nights are formal. Also trying to figure out which formal night severs lobster. Really don't want to miss that in MDR. We are planning some specialty restaurants and or chef table and need to plan.
-
Well not really a celebrity but the sister of Nicole Brown Simpson, Denise was on our cruise. It was a 7 day cruise to New England and Canada on the Victory. Her table was next to ours. Then on the way home from the Port of Baltimore we saw Mike Tyson in the rest stop on 95.
-
Same menu we had on Grandeur. They did offer us an alternate menu if we all returned in 2 days (which was lobster in the MDR so everyone passed)
Going on the Grandeur in less then 2 weeks. This menu looks amazing!!!! Not sure I care for the other menu that little britian posted. Do you know if we would be able to find out what menu they will be serving? We did the Chef Table last year on the Grandeur and still talk about it!!!!
-
First off enjoy your cruise. Suggestions would be coordinate certain items with the other women. You don't need 4 tubes of toothpaste, hairspray, shampoo etc. Share!!!! We have done this numerous times cruising with 3 women in a cabin. Another helpful item is an over the door organizer. Great for throwing hairbrushes, books, suntan lotions etc. in it.
-
Thank you we are cruising in under 2 weeks on the Grandeur. If you have the time to answer I would like to know who the Captain is? Also if they offered a package for dinning which included the Chef table? Enjoy your cruise
-
Thanks for the "live" report. We are on the Grandeur in March. Just wondering if they are offering any specialty restaurant deals on board. I noticed you have done two so far. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
Diamond lounge drinks lets have some fun!!!
