C cruise

thanks for sharing these... question: when the ship is docked at Cuba overnight, is the casino closed? I know they usually are closed when the ship is in port but wondered about this since its in port all night..

we have made online reservations for 10 people.... sometimes 8.... I suggest you make your reservations online for the time you want...you will probably have to make it for an even number -

they don't charge until you go there to dine - they take your key card and charge your account - if only 3 people have dined, that's all they will charge you for.

Don't know about the Sun, but on the Epic Le Bistro was my favorite - La Cucina was my least favorite

I totally agree with the OP - this charge of $1. is petty - especially considering its a benefit of being Platinum. This could be avoided though if they had a special menu just for this Platinum "free" dinner... with the items that are included for free.

haha - I got a chuckle out of that post!

I watched a video of an aft mini suite - yes, the bathroom is so big but so is the room and the balcony...I was surprised how much bigger it was over a regular balcony room.

I don't really know the answer but what do you have to lose by submitting the bid... or calling and seeing how much extra you have to pay to actually book the upgraded room you want..

what did you pick for the reason? in support of the cuban people? or something different?

I never filled out a form... I did call NCL and I see on my cruise docs I have the Visa, but what form did you fill out?

and cruisingteachers4 - you have to call them - its not automatically added to your fare - 

I called NCL to get our visas.... one phone call and it was done and they charged the price to my account with them

thanks - I guess I am worried because it will be a Monday sailing instead of a Saturday...

My ship leaves on a Monday - I am planning on parking at the terminal - my question: is there a chance the parking area will be full? I have never parked at the terminal before.

all I saw was the old balcony rooms - wanted to see the newer ones...

Shower is great but I would never want a tub again... the sides are so high it is awkward to get out... I slipped once and hit my toe into the plug - which stopped me from falling but it was painful.

The biggest problem with the Sun is that it wasn't built for Specialty Dining and for Freestyle.   It was built back in the days of traditional dining.   So I don't think the Sun manages the current dining experience very well.   You will wait for a table with a beeper, you might experience a very, very painfully long meal in the dining room, I remember some dinners lasting 2 plus hours and we had to leave before dessert to make the show.    The courses came painfully slow and meanwhile people are waiting with their pagers waiting for a table to eat.    They just could not manage the dining experience at all.   Hopefully this is under control.

is the buffet a good alternative for dinner?

CNN reported 4 killed and 195 injured - lots of damage in Havana residential areas..

we were in 9259 - near elevator ... never heard any noise and were glad to be near elevator

yes, mini suite is larger than regular balcony room... it seemed wider and longer... however, there is a tub/shower combo in the mini suite and seriously its the highest tub and very hard to get out of..

I hope someone answers this ... I think its going to be any drink but want to have someone that knows give us the answer.
