  1. The ship is docked at the Brooklyn NY cruise terminal and according to cruisemapper was supposed to depart there last night at 10 pm ET. But the ship is still docked in Brooklyn. Does anybody know when the ship is departing?

  2. I was just in 7035 on the Serenity 2 weeks ago. There was absolutely no noise from the elevators and nothing from the Galaxy. On occasion I could hear the door out to the Promenade deck close but that was rare. I would definitely stay in that room again if given the choice.

  3. The big problem for singles who want the single rooms is that there are only 14 rooms designated singles on the Serenity snd only 18 on the Symphony. A friend and I tried to book 2 single rooms for several segments of the 2025 World Cruise and our wonderful travel

agent called at 9 am the first day that crystal society members could book. We could only get 1 room and 1 of us is wait listed. With only 14 single rooms it’s highly unlikely that we will clear the wait list which will result in 2 lost bookings for crystal.

  4. Keith, thank you for confirming with an executive at Crystal that there will not be an impact on the 2024 World Cruise sailings from Miami to San Diego or starting in San Diego….big sigh of relief for me!  I’m sure I’m not the only guest on one of those cruises that is concerned … suggest crystal send something to travel advisors and/or passengers on those 2 cruises letting them know that as of now crystal is planning to continue with the original itineraries….

  5. LaGuardia is 12 miles from the cruise terminal and Newark is 16 miles so the distance is almost the same. October 13th is a Friday and there will be a lot of traffic out of Manhattan to New Jersey starting about 2:30 PM in the afternoon so if you go to Newark would suggest you leave Manhattan soon after leaving the ship. You never can predict the traffic to either Newark or LaGuardia so allow plenty of time. If you are staying in Manhattan Friday night and going to the airport on Saturday there will be no traffic to either airport on Saturday morning assuming no accidents or traffic incidents. See you on the ship!

  7. Hi Keith, can you get this same information on your own iPhone so you don’t have to carry around an iPad? Do the iPads have cases? Thanks - enjoy segment 2 of your cruise and thanks again for all this information!

  8. Stickmsn1990, I was just about to put something on cruise critic about Maui when I saw your post. This is so sad and brought back memories of my first visit there on the Crystal Harmony in February 2004. Thoughts are with all the people impacted. I am also on the cruise from San Diego to Tahiti in February and can’t imagine that we will be able to stop in Maui.

  9. Keith, thanks for your objective balanced posts.  I’m one of Crystal’s biggest fans and counting the days until I board Serenity in October. I appreciate your observations of areas needing improvement above and would add to your list the reduced drawer space and closet space in the single and double rooms with / without veranda. I’m hoping that Crystal is taking  a look at this and is developing a plan to address this with additional shelves near the desk (as there used to be) or some other solution.
