  1. Another question:  in the Ts and Cs on the Exceptional Initiative web site it says: An individual booking is defined as one (1) suite or guest room reserved for one voyage, which includes back-to-back voyages, Grand Journeys, or the World Cruise.

Does this mean that if you booked back to back voyages you get credit only for 20% of what is owed or would you get 20% for each of the individual back to back voyages?

  2. Keith, on the online form to apply for the credit it asks for

    CRUISE RESERVATION ID NUMBER(S) (EXAMPLE: 2332819, 2331982)

Did you input your cancelled reservation ID numbers or did you input your newly booked on New Crystal reservation numbers for which you are requesting credit?   I could find no place on the form where it specifies which cruise reservation IDs it wants.

  3. Keith, one of the FAQs may be confusing. The question asks: "Can I withdraw cash on board? What is the fee?"   The answer is:  "ATMs will not be available on board and therefore no cash can be withdrawn."

On the old Crystal, a passenger could "cash a check" at the front desk and receive cash currency (I believe US dollars).  I seem to remember that there was some sort of limit ($2000 ?).  I'm wondering if passengers on new Crystal will still have this ability and, if so, perhaps Crystal should reword the answer to this FAQ.

  4. This is great news - these guys are terrific.  But why are we learning of these announcements from the trade press and not directly from Crystal? Crystal’s communications team ought to be sending these announcements to Crystal Society folks or at a minimum putting the announcements in the PR / Media section of the Crystal web site. I’m one of Crystal’s biggest cheerleaders but the Communications team is a huge disappointment.

  5. I just took a close look at the photo of the new design of the single and double rooms with ocean view . The desk area has significantly less storage space than on old crystal. There used to be 6 drawers total on either side of the desk and there were 3 shelves up on the side of the mirror. Those shelves and drawers appear to be gone in both the single and double renovated rooms. If the photo is accurate, the new rooms will have only closet space and 2 drawers in each nightstand. This is a significant take away in storage space in those rooms.

  6. We called Crystal directly yesterday to see if they had our crystal society numbers. They asked for our phone number

amd then were able to identify us as crystal

Society people - they even had the correct number of past cruises .  We were given a new crystal society number (not 5 digits) that will correlate to our new bookings.

  7. A few questions:

    1) has anybody found the cancellation policy and the deposit/ full payment timetables and amounts? What are they?

    2) are the port charges included in these prices?

    3) if a single person books a double room

(because no single rooms available or prefer a better location), what is the “single supplement”?

    4) is there an early payment discount?

    5) is there a discount on these fares for crystal society ? I thought crystal advertised that crystal society members would get a discount.

  8. I am one of Crystal’s biggest fans and anxiously looking forward to cruising with Crystal again.

Crystal led customers to believe itineraries would be published by YE.  Whoever is in charge of communications ought to know that good customer service begins with communications.  Crystal really owes an update on status, regardless if the status is good or bad.  Let people know.  Sorry to say that I had high expectations but it's a disappointment so far.

  9. I will be on the Symphony for 3 weeks in early December and am trying to decide whether to buy travel insurance through insuremytrip.com or not, given that Chase Sapphire Reserve card covers medical evacuation and other emergency medical services if the trip was charged on the card.  That coupled with my own medical insurance (I am not at Medicare age yet) which also covers emergency medical outside the country may be enough.    Has anyone had experience with a claim that was covered by Chase Sapphire Reserve and what was your experience?   Thanks.
