  1. Our cruise has now been canceled for the 2nd time. I have a cruise booked on the Mardis Gras in May 2022. I want to move the money from my Magic cruise that was just canceled over to that cruise. Is this possible? Also, to complicated things a little more. The magic cruise was booked by my wife and the Mardis Gras cruise was booked under my name. We are both on the cruise so will that make a difference when trying to move the money over to the other booked cruise? Thanks for the info.

  2. I'm in Central Florida and things are going ok. Except that the theme parks are all closed, the beaches are closed, restaurants are carry out or delivery only. We now have a curfew from 11pm to 5am daily which started 2 days ago and is in effect until further notice. Grocery stores close early to sterilize and restock items, certain items you can only buy 1 or 2 of per household. The only good thing is that I am still working and the weather is beautiful and we can at least go outside in our community and go for a walk. So we are not confined to just being indoors all the time and as long as it stays nice and hit we are able to go swimming in our pool. So I can at least act like I'm on a cruise sitting by the pool. Stay safe everyone!

  3. So I am scheduled to cruise on 7/5 on the Horizon. I was wondering if Carnival was going to extend the cancellation policy past May and into the summer months. I received an email last night from Carnival with the following information.

The following applies only to guests who booked on or before March 10, 2020.

    • Guests who choose to keep their booking, as currently scheduled, for departures June through September, 2020, will receive the following onboard credit (OBC) amount:
      • US$50, per cabin, for 2 – 5 day sailings
      • US$100, per cabin, for 6 day sailings and longer

If you choose to continue to sail with us, we will automatically apply your onboard credit to your Sail & Sign account. There is no need to call us.

    • You may also cancel up to 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Any cancellation charges will be held as a future cruise credit (FCC) to be redeemed on a cruise within one year of your original sailing*.
      • If your reservation included Fly2Fun air, any monies paid for your air fare will be included in your FCC.  If you purchased independent air, please contact your airline carrier as they are being flexible with change fees.
      • Any pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions, specialty dining/spa or Fun Shop orders will be automatically canceled and refunds will be processed to your original form of payment by your bank within three weeks.
      • We are experiencing higher call volume than usual and are currently focused on assisting guests sailing March and April, 2020.  We encourage you to contact your travel advisor, Carnival Personal Vacation Planner, or access “My Cruise Manager” on Carnival.com to cancel your reservation.  Any penalties will be held in your account as a FCC.  You may also get answers to Frequently Asked Questions here.

My final payment is due on April 11th. I am still on the fence and am hoping for better news as we move through into the summer months but now it's good to know as of last night I have the ability to cancel and get the FCC and rebook a cruise.

Such a handsome dog.  I have found Carnival to be very helpful when it comes to our dogs.  They will allow the pottybox on your veranda.  You just have to insist on it.

The more Teddy uses a potty box at home the more used to using a potty box he will become.  And, going in one onboard a cruise ship will be no problem.   Carnival uses the best boxes; pre-made and purchased online.  They're made of metal, lined with plastic and filled with mulch.

For your home box you can buy whatever filler you like best.  Lowe's sells [wood shavings], in bulk, you can cover whatever you choose with artificial turf, or, if the mulch is easy to walk on, use it straight from the container.  And, practice, practice, practice.  My dogs ONLY USE A POTTY BOX AT HOME.  It makes them to be the best travelers when cruising.

My suggestion is to check on the filler that is being used by the ship, before you ask the dog to use it, if it hurts the dog's paws they will refuse to step on it, because it hurts.  I ALWAYS bring rolled-up artificial turf to cover whatever the cruiselines use.  I buy it at Lowe's in 4x4 sections, I cut drainage holes in it, fold it up and bring a fresh sheet in my suitcase.

The first thing I do is lay the plastic turf over whatever the ship is using as filler and then ask my dog to go potty.  It travels very easily and my dogs NEVER refuse to step on it.

Traveling with our dogs is really up to us to make it fun for them too!!!!

Thank you for the info. We did contact the cruise line prior to leaving and actually bought the litter they use in the potty box. We also took the green grass pad for.him . I think one of his issues was our pottybox at home does not make Teddy step up.higher than usual. I am going.to build one that has the same dimensions of the one on the ship. We have 6 months to work.on him till.our next cruise.

  5. Happy Holidays to everyone. We just returned from our family Christmas Cruise on the Carnival Liberty. So I will start with the good from the trip. This was the first cruise we took with my daughters service dog. This was an eye opener as far as how he would be on a cruise. Teddy seemed to enjoy the cruise for the most part. We as a whole enjoyed ourselves. The crew was very helpful during the cruise. They were very accommodating in how they treated us from embarkation to debatkation. Teddy was able to explore Nassau and Princess Cay which we had no issues getting off of the ship due to the information we received from everyone here. So the one part of the cruise that was stressful was that Teddy out of 4 days on a ship only used the potty area 2 times. He held until he got off the ship and then he went to the bathroom 2 or 3 times. The only complaint we had was the area they had placed the potty on the 3rd deck where people could be at. All in all we shall see about our future ceuise in July and hopefully we can go with us now.

  6. So we are packing for our first ceuuse with my daughters service dog..Thank you to everyone that has provided invaluable information to get everything taken care of as far as the permit from the Bahamas. Looks like we have everything covered but I did have 1 more question that my wife brought up. Am I going to need the USDA APHIS form to reenter the U.S.? My vet is wanting to complete the form but I cannot see anywhere written that this is needed for the Bahamas or for reentry into the U.S. I am going to the vet in the morning to have the Bahamas Health Certificate completed and I am wanting to ensure that I do not need anything else for our return.  Again, thanks to everyone for their input.

  7. I am going on a Christmas cruise on the Liberty leaving on Dec. 23rd. My wife had a few questions about decorations. We know that anything brought on has to be fire retardant and we cannot plug in Christmas lights in the cabin. My wife saw a flame retardant battery operated Christmas tree that she wanted to bring. What has everyone that has decorated their cabins with? Can you share any pictures. Also, my wife and 17 year old daughter want to take pictures in onsies (pajamas). Are they going to have Christmas backgrounds for pictures? Thank you everyone for your feedback.

Thinking about cruising on Breeze. Have sailed on about a dozen Carnival cruises but it’s a few years since sailing carnival.

I’m seeing there are some new Carnival craft beers ... an IPA, a wheat, an amber. Seems they come in cans. Just wondering about their availability. Are they now on the ships, are they at bars Any of them on draft

Any information would be appreciated. I used to like Thirsty Frog so I’m looking forward to that.

When we were on the Magic in September I think that in the Red Frog Pub I saw all three on tap. At the other bars they were in cans.

Never used this. Seems to be a 3rd party trying to make a buck. Service dogs are free and a regular pet is $10. This person wants $57. Just do it directly. I usually fax and have the permit in a day or two.

I have been attempting to fax over the application to the fax number on the form. I have also called and spoke with a lady at the Dept. Of Agriculture and she gave me the same number. Did you have any problems facing over the application?

You get it from your vet. It has to be a USDA accredited vet. Call your vet and ask.

Ok. My vet is a USDA accredited vet. The one question that they are having is about shots. I know that the rabies shot is one that needs to be renewed for our cruise but how do I find out if there are other shots necessary? Does the Bahamas send you something stating what shots are needed? My vet contacted the USDA and they are saying to send in the application and then the Bahamas will let us know what shots are necessary. Thanks.

Just write service dog on the top. You do not need to send anything. I think they send back the permit and a form to have your vet fill out. When you get on the ship you will need the permit, the form they sent you filled out by your vet, a copy of rabies certificate and the international health certificate.

Thanks for all.of the information. Its bee. Very helpful. As far as the international health certificate is concerned, is that something I can obtain from my vet or is there somewhere else I can get it? Again thank you for the assistance.

Thanks. I am gonna try and fax it over. Question, is there somewhere on the form where you can annotate that the dog is a service dog? Also, when you faced over the application over are you also sending the dogs shot records? Thank you for your assistance. This is our first cruise with my daughters service dog.
