Looking at a cruise from Genoa as the prices from that port are c £200pp cheaper than other ports. However there are very few direct flights from U.K. To Genoa and what flights there are expensive.
anyone who has sailed from here got any advice on travel to Genoa from U.K. Would be appreciated.

I have had very good cruises with MSC and the OPs rant will not help him or anyone else.
if the rant is indicative of how you spoke to MSC not surprised you got no help!

Don't exchange any currency at airports as you will get a terrible rate, 10% under market sometimes.
get euros from your bank before departure and use ATMS for more if needed and credit cards are widely accepted in Europe.

We booked a cruise before all the recent promotions including the 10% off and it is now about 15% more in space of 6 weeks!
-
On UK site they are new offers including drinks packages and wifi for selected sailings including Caribbean.
-
We are booked on Bellissima, deck 13 in the recessed part so impacted by overhang. As it looks like we may not get much sun we are thinking of trying to change cabin.
how easy is it to request a different cabin?
-
Hi, does anyone know if the fresh orange juice served in the buffets is included with any of the new drinks packages?
-
Thanks for all updates, Whats the food in general been like?
-
Thanks for all updates, hoping to go on Bellissima later this year and my wife is very keen on spas so the pictures and cost are very helpful

We are looking to book an Aurea cabin in Meraviglia and most of cabins left are either deck 14 which is below pool deck so don't want as too noisy. Then deck 13 but some are in recessed area with overhang from pool deck, anyone stayed in one of these cabins can advise wether it was too dark, got enough sun, any restriction in view from struts etc.

Much cheaper to book with a local company and will be fairly easy in the Med to find loads of good companies. Best place to start is Trip Advisor for the port of call and check the recommendations for tours and operators.

The prices seem to vary constantly, it looks like they have bumped prices up a bit recently to allow for the 10% discount voucher they are running. Also assume U.K. Prices will be bumped up soon to allow for included gratuities.
we booked a resposition cruise for 2020 in Aurea and difference with price over fantastica was £15 pppd which i thought was reasonable given the drinks package, spa access, massage and anytime dining. Also can upgrade drinks package for 10 euros pppd to premium.

There is also a 10% discount code on the MSC site if you do a tour of the Bellissima, valid on new cruises for bookings up to mid April I think.
-
The code is also available on the UK site and I would assume all sites, just for new cruises it states.

Hi Bea,
not checked but is the German site in English and all documents etc or do you speak German?
-
I have never had a problem getting through and always speak to a very helpful person. I am in UK so maybe it's just the American staff where there is a problem.

The U.K. Website has been changed to read;
SERVICE CHARGE
Each day, MSC Cruises will debit the Service Charge to your onboard account. The charge covers the onboard hospitality services actually enjoyed and is calculated according to the itinerary chosen and the number of nights. For further details of the amounts payable in each currency, please refer to the table below.
However, should you wish to adjust or cancel any of the daily hotel service charges in the unlikely event that you did not receive a satisfactory service, you may do so on board. -
I was referring to the German website mentioned in MLasagnes link above.

If someone from U.K. Wants to remove the DSC they can do and that's the end of the matter. No one has seen the purported letter to German travel agents stating it's only in cases of poor service and no suggestion of having to prove anything.
The thread was never about the rights or wrongs of removing only about the legality of changing the terms after contract agreed.
A small number of posters tried to make it an argument about tipping for their own reasons.

I see there an announcement from MSC on any site or Facebook as I haven't seen one, also is the DSC discretionary for pre-booked cruises or for all whenever booked in future?
-
If the crew don't get the DSC how can anyone be stiffing them if they remove it?
theres too many holier than thou posting on here who are probably the worst tippers of all!

Has anyone had any response from a U.K. Travel agent they booked through to obtain their take on this change without notice?
-
Whatever MSC say it's still not legal under U.K. And EU Consumer protection law to change a fee or make compulsory after contract agreed i.e. When you pay your deposit . I am traveling over next week or so can't contact ABTA but interested to hear any feedback from anyone who does contact them or any other travel body involved in licensing MSC

MSc Bellissima - Review
in MSC Cruises

Cooled water and ice are available 24 hours per day in the buffet area but none available in MDR that I have seen.
if it's a major issue bring a refillable bottle with you and ask for ice in a glass in MDR , obviously it's a lot of messing about.
