  1. You deserve a medal! Those column shifts do my head in 🙃
  2. Love those cars. We had the one on the left😄. We had such fun as kids sitting in the back!
  3. Eden was hazy today due to back burning in order to prevent bushfires. They had 4 large buses running complimentary shuttles into town. It only took about 5 mins. Very long queue but it moved quickly. As one bus was loaded another took its place. It would have been quicker to walk but not up that hill in 30 degree heat! A local said to me, it’s not just the eco mic benefit, the town loves the vibe and energy the cruisers bring. Sure enough, all the shops and cafes were packed with most of the 2500 passengers from the ship. Apparently they will have had 42 cruise ships this season. Won’t be long before they overtake Melbourne as a cruise hub😱. Volunteers work for 2.5h and all day staff are paid employees. After a wander around the shops I visited the Mary McKillop museum as she has links to the town as her mother died in a shipwreck offshore and then up yet another hill to see Old Tom in the Killer Whale Musem, then walked back to the ship. It’s so steep the pathway zigzags down the hill. It’s the first I’ve had a lady steward. My nightie has ended up in all sorts of places including the window sill but last night after the theatre I returned to this. Ah,a woman’s touch 💐
  4. This is a cruise to Hobart via Eden, Freycinet scenic cruising and Port Arthur. I will post the Patter etc. and a few pics. if anyone else on board wishes to post it would be wecolmed. I arrived at the Port around 1.15 pm. A bit earlier than usual but I wanted to get there before any rail and tram lines buckled in the heat. My suitcase was taken at the entrance to the pier, a new one on me. Perhaps it was due to heat and I walked with hand luggage to the terminal and there was a water station about halfway. It took about 30 mins to get aboard. The man at the counter told me that lots of people had ‘new to Princess’ on their app even though they weren’t so I won’t give that another thought. I got my Grand medallion though. The bunker boat didn’t arrive till afternoon so the ship wasn’t fully refueled until about 9pm and with tides we sailed away about 11-11.30 pm. Captain says we’ll still arrive in Eden on time. I’m in an OV obs room. Nice with the bed against the wall not under the window. Aus PowerPoint near the bed. Nice and breezy outside today. They are still busy making favourite sweeties. Happy to answer questions if I can.
  5. Somewhere in Chile. I recognise the flag.
  6. So is mine. I thought they fixed it for me on the ship back in Jan but no, I'm back to new cruiser. I'll try again next week. The only thing I had to do was ring up and buy the Internet at the reduced rate before the price hike as the app wanted to charge me full price not 50%. I go Standard because as it is half the mini-bar comes home so I wouldn't get the value out of the packages.
  7. I was on the Grand in January and will be again on Sunday. Both times my boarding window was 1 - 4 pm with the ship leaving at 5 pm. As I live in Melbourne I'm in no rush to get down there. Its going to be hot Sunday so I'll be watering etc. and will probably arrive about 3 pm. I will post the Patter and other information in a thread on here probably just before bedtime and if there is anything in particular you want to know I can find out. Enjoy your cruise.
  8. You can turn me around and I have no idea of direction so I was really pleased when I discovered at a later date that I had taken a pic of One Foot Island by chance. 😄it matches my stamp.
  9. That’s it, well done. Your turn. I love how they stamp your passport and you can send a postcard, for a cost of course.
  10. Where was I? bonus points for naming the island bottom right.
  11. How about the Bright Angel Trail Bridge?
  12. Well I've just googled that info and there are 7 of them!
  13. There was a clue. Passenger ferry /car Namma Lines operates in the Red Sea.
  14. Correct, your turn. We pulled in here for a medivac.
  15. A port not often visited by cruise ships....
  16. You can google image anything and often you will find a similar photo to the one you have taken. I use it for finding where I took a photo if I have forgotten (older images without GPS) or I also get a lot of postcards and some of those don't have where the pic is taken so I google image those and usually I find out.
  17. I imagine its somewhere near Port Hedland where the main FMG and BHP trains go.
  18. Somewhere in the Pilbara? I still love counting the ore cars as they go by 😄
  19. I use Google Chrome and just right click on the image and search with Google. Most of them would be there, quicker than posting the image. However, I don't use it for this thread if I'm going to post an answer, like what would be the point? a child could do it. I do find it forever useful with my own pics though. As a happy snapper for many years I have forgotten where I took some of them, more often than I'd like to admit, but chances are Google will know.
