Obviously stockholders are more important than customers!

We often book mileage seats on flights that are less than desirable. Then DH calls the airline almost every day to see if something with a better connection is available. Except for one time, he was able to make the change and was rarely charged. United usually routes us on Lufthansa through Frankfurt.
Last time we were actually booked out of SFO to some city I can't remember and then on to FRA. About 2 days before we were going to leave, we somehow got changed to a nonstop LAX to FRA. What a lovely surprise!

If you see something you like at a price you can afford, go for it. Just realize this art is not a financial investment and the Park West online reviews are mainly negative.

I guess I would renew the visa because the policy could change quickly and I could be out of luck.

Well Ruth, I guess I am just not as brilliant as you and your reading comprehension is so much better than mine.
I read most of the thread and I understand that if you have certain other documents you can travel with an expired visa, and the Canadian visa is a separate issue.
But even if it is permitted to travel with an expired visa, why wouldn't one renew it?
-
I am confused. If your visa was going to expire, why didn't you apply for an extension or a new visa??

Certainly not all bills come online. But a relative or a trusted friend can email you the amount of the bill, or even a pic of the bill. Then you can use bill pay, available at most banks and credit unions, to pay it online.

Waking up most mornings and seeing a brand new port to explore!

Just another idea. I order sunscreen and bug repellent in individual foil packets online at Amazon. Doesn't have to be in the liquid Baggie, and easy to put in carry on.

Lol! I think I'll add long pants or a skirt to that!!
-
DH will take a tie but not a jacket.
I will take my usual sparkly sweater that I wear with long underwear underneath it (you cannot see the long underwear) because I am always freezing in the MDR. Finding dressy but warm clothing was always a nightmare! And no, a shawl or scarf does not help. :(

We use our DD as well. We get most everything important online. DD opens our mail and sends a pic if she thinks it might be important. Advertisements and stuff get dumped. We have a surprisingly small stack of mail to go through, even if we're gone for several months.

My mom broke a toe right before my wedding. She wore a pair of ballet slippers that she had dyed the same color as her long dress. No one even noticed.

There already is a condo cruise ship, the Residensea. We saw it when it was docked in Lima and we talked to a couple of owners when they came ashore in Lahaina Maui. Looks fabulous and very expensive.

Just a reminder - whether you choose a slipper type shoe or a flip flop, you can always add a sparkly shoe ornament to make it look dressier if you choose. But no matter what, just enjoy and don't worry about it!

Does anyone know if there are cabs usually waiting at the Anguilla ferry dock?
-
On our last cruise we flew to Florida, did a transatlantic cruise, spent a month in Europe and flew home after. DH had slacks, a sports coat and a tie with him. We did the entire trip (7 weeks) with a carry on each so I don't get the overweight luggage argument?
However, it will be nice to not bring the jacket next cruise!

On the map the distance from the port to Marigot and to the airport look about the same?
We are planning to take the ferry from Marigot to Anguilla as it appears to go more frequently, is cheaper and is a shorter ride. Should be interesting and fun!
-
I think there are more ferries to and from Anguilla each day from Marigot that from the airport.

I don't understand why anyone cares what a 3 year old is wearing.
I would rather spend my time in the MDR enjoying my meal and the company of the people at my table.
-
We generally have to fly to cruise.
But once we drove to Long Beach CA and another time we took the Amtrak to San Diego. The four hour train trip was very relaxing.

I cannot imagine a 2 year old sitting at dinner for 1 1/2 to 2 hours for several days in a row. I know mine would never have remained in his seat for so long no matter what entertaining devices I had brought along.
I would go to the buffet. I would ask some friendly looking folks to save your selected table while you and your kids get some food. Then I would ask a worker or a friendly passenger to help you get your dinners to the table.
Room service is also a possibility but I imagine you would like to go out.
You might enjoy one or two special dinners in the MDR with just the 5 year old.

We make an album using the photos we take on our trips once we get home. We use shutterfly but there are many other online album making sites. We look at those albums now and then and reminisce.

OMG. I saw that it snowed in Calgary. DH grew up there so I had to tell him.
