  1. We’re you using a FAS meal or a Platinum voucher?
  2. I’ve also been on many cruises post-COVID and never heard anything like this. Even if I did I would dismiss it all as harmless fun/joshing. The closest I came was in Costa Maya last year. We were on Virgin. There was a massive RCL ship docked next to us, with thousands of kids. We had a few people from it asking what Virgin was like and lots of frustrated parents looking enviously at us and our ship. 😂. (Please no “You hate Kids” posts. I have two of my own and a grandson. But at this point in my life there's something to be said about an adults only ship!)
  3. Just to note that sometimes it shows as a purchased item. That happened to me last month, it usually showed as shown as above, it for that trip it showed as a purchased item. Either way, you should have received an acknowledgement of receipt for the submission with a case number and when it is applied it will show on the website.
  4. Did you have a deviation on both ends? I think it’s $25 for each leg. But I could be wrong. Who knows. All I know is I had a $50 credit. LOL.
  5. Thanks for the clarification. We’ve never used NCL transfers. I did look back on the invoice for our trip to Rome last year where we used NCL Air and had a two day deviation at the end. The invoice showed a $50 credit for me as the first passenger and no credit for my travel mate. Maybe $25 each leg? We also flew to NY with a one day deviation.
  6. LOL. Sometimes being short is a benefit. I never had that problem. 😂
  7. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVED the studio cabins. Perfect for a single person. Well appointed and bright. And I did love the key-access to the entire space. But the cost of them is often higher than a solo in a regular inside cabin (and sometimes even for a solo oceanview or balcony.). I think the new categories could work out well. I just fear they are going to demand too much of a premium for them. Time will tell.
  8. Agreed! I’ve sailed in the studios four times. I love the lounge, but really only for the espresso machine. 😂. Most of the time the space is empty. Not worth paying a premium just for a couple of espressos every day.
  9. I completely agree, but the cabins have to be in the right categories. They will not re-key a card for a solo in a cabin not categorized as a solo cabin to allow access to the lounge.
  10. Agreed. And I’m interested in them too, just for that reason. But if the cruise wasn’t booked as that category, and it’s my understanding they aren’t even available yet for this cruise, I have to believe the terns of the original booking will apply and there will be no access to the lounge.
  11. I don’t think that would happen, but even if it did I’d welcome a 15 hour layover in Lisbon. Fantastic city! With 15 hours I wouldn’t hang out at the airport. 😆
  12. Most major (non-budget) Airlines do not charge for baggage on an international flight. NCL will be using a major carrier (AA, Delta, Lufthansa , BA, etc.). While it’s possible they could put you on a carrier with a fee, I think it’s highly unlikely. And less likely that it will be $100. But you never know,
  13. Yes, I would ask. It shouldn’t be there. 😃
  14. We used NCL air for our TA from NYC to Rome last Spring with a two day deviation at the end - similar to your itinerary. Despite flying back into a major international airport with direct flights from Rome, they put us on a Lufthansa flight through Munich. I would not count on a direct flight, but the connections will not be outrageous. Just be prepared for a connection and possibly inconvenient schedules. You are right - you will not beat the fare. But you have more control if you book your own flights. Also, it’s my understanding that they actually give you a $25 per person credit if you do a deviation, but they do not provide transportation, so that $75 you quoted should not apply. It may be different if you book the hotel through NCL, but generally if you have a deviation you are on your own to get to the airport/port. Edited to add info about baggage and seats. It really depends on the airline NCL puts you on. Baggage fees are a given. NCL will not cover them. But as has been said, most airlines allow at least one free for an international flight. Seat assignments are a different story. I’ve used NCL when they put me on AA or Delta. I was able to log into the airline’s site and chose/upgrade a seat. With Lufthansa I couldn’t do that. Couldn’t chose a seat until you checked in 24 hours before departure.
  15. True. So the old rules apply. I’d be stunned if they caved and granted access to the lounge for anyone not staying in a Studio.
  16. While I agree it makes no sense, you will not have access to the studio lounge, while I haven’t sailed on the new categories, I have sailed solo outside of the studio complex. They are really strict about this, you cannot have access to the lounge outside of the nightly solo meetings - if they have them in the lounge. I argued this years ago when I was in a balcony on the Epic, paying full double fares. The cabin cost more than a studio cabin would have, but they would not budge.
  17. I also don’t have any idea who they’re trying to target, but I also got both of those coupons, and also took advantage of both. Keep hoping for more coupons to mysteriously show up in my account, but haven’t seen them since these two coupons early this past summer.
  18. Yup. My bank refunds the ATM fees too. So regardless of how I do it - ATM or the 3% to the NCL credit card, it doesn’t cost anything to get cash.
  19. That’s what happened to us. We told them we were using the Platinum voucher. They told us it would be better to use one FAS because it was so much food, unfortunately we had already used our FAS. She was right. 8 things was way too much food! Live and learn.
  20. Yup. I’m one of the ones that bought pre-pandemic. 😢. Still showing a major loss, but I just added it up. So far I’ve gotten $1700 in OBC from that initial investment. I’ll continue to hold the stock, hope for a rebound, but in the meantime I’ll continue to enjoy that tax free dividend.
  21. I hear you. My guy said he’d have to rebook it to add the points and the price went up since we booked. Told him to leave it be. We don’t need the points either. Im sapphire and DH is platinum. See you onboard!
  22. You can find the insider offers on NCL’s website. You need to logged in to see them. They will also sometimes be included in an email from NCL. Right now they are offering select sailings, one of which is a Norway/Iceland trip we booked last month. Just emailed my guy at CAS and asked him to add it to the booking.
  23. True. It just needs to be reserved first. It might be worth a call to NCL. I’m sure they can straighten it out.
