  1. I was hoping enough people had complained already! I even sent Celebrity an e-mail. [emoji15] The old menu was so much better. That is one of the reasons my husband and I wanted to go back on Celebrity. We originally went on the Silhouette and fell in love with the restaurant! We went on the Summit and liked The Normandy but we missed not having The Tuscan Grill. We were happy to hear the Infinity was getting The Tuscan Grill and now we find out that the menu has changed!! Argh!

I sent them an email suggesting that they bring back some of the items on the menu that everyone is wishing were still there. I never heard back!

  2. Following the help from so many people here on CC, I am now paying back with a review. Will try and post pics when I can.

    Any questions please ask

    Vancouver

I arrived on Thirsday night about 7.30 after an excellent flight. Got a cab to the Pan Pacific which would be home for the next 3 nights.

Great hotel, perfect location at Canada Place and a beautiful room overlooking the harbour. Wonderful sunsets and enjoyed watching the float planes take off and land.

Day 3 Sunday, the cruise starts here! Staying at the Pan Pacific meant that they took my luggage direct to the ship. They suggested I board early or late but definitely not between 11.30 and 1.30. So I went straight down to the terminal (elevator from the hotel) around 10.30

How did you get the luggage directly to the ship? Porter? How much did it cost? How much did you tip? I don't want to insult the person!

Does anyone have a copy of the menu for Blu?

    Thanks!

  3. Not sure I would pay for the steak after paying the surcharge either. It is becoming a bit like RCI's MDR in that regard except they are hitting you twice.:(

Thank you for this information. I didn't know what it was.

Thanks to everyone else who has suggested the individual companies. Please continue posting if you have others.

  4. Here is the new Tuscan Grill menu from the first post drydock cruise on the Infinity:

DH and I are really disappointed in the menu changes. We sailed on the Silhouette and it was our favorite restaurant!!! We had done the unlimited special dining package (each night in a specialty DR) and loved it. We went to the Tuscan Grille 4 nights). We were looking forward to the Tuscan Grille on the Infinity but didn't realize they were going to change the menu! He loved the lasagna, onion soup and is surprised we have to pay an up charge IN an up charge restaurant!

We loved the Bistro on five with all of the choices of more than 5 crepes for the entree. The new menu is not the same. We went on the summit and once we saw the menu, we decided not to even go once.

Is there any chance that they would add the soup and lasagna to the Tuscan Grille if enough people ask? Add the different crepes back to the Bistro?

If anyone knows, I'd be willing to email the company. We are sailing to Alaska in 2017 so I plan to follow the topics too.

  5. We are going in June 2017 but want to start planning tours we really want to do. We know Celebrity has tours available but I was wondering if anyone had used another company (and been really happy with them) for whale watching tours in Icy Straight Point, Juneau, Ketchikan, etc.

We are also interested in the Longest Zipline, helicopter tours, and sea planes.

Any other ideas or amazing tours that you know of, please advise. This is our first trip to Alaska. Thanks!

  6. I just started reading this post and was wondering about the luggage. You mentioned that if you stayed at the pan pacific, you could tip the bellman and he'd get your luggage to the ship. How much? I don't want to insult the man or give way too much.

Also, could you put a link to your most up to date review, please? We are trying to decide if we want to sail on the infinity or the solstice or the millennium to Alaska. We were told that if we want to see a lot of whales, we should go on the infinity (icy straight point). Any suggestions?

  7. Alaska in the summertime look for ships that go to Icy straight point. That I know of Celebrity inside passage ships go there. Millennium and Infinity for sure.

Southern Caribbean cruises headed to Dominica will get your whales also year round. Just remember it is Mother Nature so she may or may not cooperate.

  8. We have a week of clouds and rain forecast. Bring it on! We leave for the Summit out of San Juan next Friday.

Tree is up; gifts are wrapped, and my work is done.

We just left the Summit and are sitting in the airport. You will Love it!!! 2-6ft seas all week . The food was good and service was great.
