  1. Thank you @Tonopah.
  2. My golf mad husband has just realised that we'll be cruising the Fjords when The Open is on. I’m wondering if there is anywhere on board likely to show it?
  3. I see Cunard have a list of upcoming guest speakers on their site. Some of them are already linked to a particular voyage, but I can't see any for my trip Norwegian Fjords 14-21 July.

    Luggage Tags

Thank you for all the replies (and for not making me feel stupid). 😄
  5. First time cruisers, so please excuse my stupid question. I'm looking to buy luggage tags online, but there seems to be different sizes. Can someone please advise what size I should buy for Cunard? Thank you.
  6. This is what I think we'll do too. 🙂
  7. For our R&G night I plan to wear either a green or wine velvet dress with a gold wrap, handbag & hair accessory. My husband will wear a black suit with a gold bow tie & pocket square. For the masquerade night I hope to wear a navy velvet dress with silver accessories. My husband will wear a black suit with navy paisley bow tie and pocket square. We have black & silver masks which we’re not sure about yet - we’ll see how popular the masks are on the night.

    "My Cunard"

I've just logged into "My Cunard" and completed my passport etc details in the "Before you Sail" section. I'm travelling with my husband, but can't see an option to complete his details. Am I missing something? **Edited to add** - Apologies. I've just realised I have to log in separately with his details. I thought it would be like an airline where I can complete all travellers details at once.
  10. Yay! Delighted to have found this thread. My husband & I are doing a Norwegian Fjords cruise on the QM2 (Cruise M421) in July 2024. It's our first cruise together, and our first visit to Norway. Our itinerary is: Southampton, England, UK 14JUL24 At Sea 15JUL24 Kristiansand, Norway 16JUL24 In Port Arrive early morning Depart early afternoon Olden, Norway 17JUL24 In Port Arrive morning Depart early evening Innvikfjorden, Norway(Cruise-by) 17JUL24 Cruise By Arrive early evening Cruise By Depart evening Nordfjord, Norway (Cruise-by) 17JUL24 Cruise ByArrive evening Cruise By Depart evening Alesund, Norway 18JUL24 In Port Arrive early morning Depart afternoon Stavanger, Norway 19JUL24 In Port Arrive morning Depart afternoon Oslofjord, Norway19JUL24 Cruise By Arrive afternoon Cruise By Depart early evening At Sea 20JUL24 Southampton, England, UK 21JUL24 I haven't read through the thread yet - but I will! Hoping to pick up lots of tips from experienced cruisers!
  11. You lost me at "open bottles of wine from the previous evening's dinner". 😉😂 Like @tmee, we've chosen open dining for our cruise next year. Felt early was a little too early and late may be too late. It's our first Cunard cruise so we're hedging our bets!
  12. I would love to read some posts from that trip - I'll be on it next year.
  13. The reason I asked is because I’m surprised if cruise ships dock at these small ports, so I wanted to double check. Too often I read queries from tourists who don’t understand the distance between places - eg thinking about kissing the Blarney Stone while on a visit to Dublin. Anyway @Graycruise - Dingle is a lovely (small) town, but depending on your time, I would recommend doing a tour of Dingle Peninsula. Likewise with Galway - a lovely small city and very easy to walk around, but if there’s a tour of Connemara/ The Burren available, I’d recommend it. Both Dingle and Galway have lovely traditional bars and restaurants - with most of the bars serving food. I don’t know anything about Foynes, but if there’s time for a tour to the Cliffs of Moher, I’d recommend that. Enjoy!
  14. Can I ask where your ship actually docks? Killybegs and Dingle are at completely opposite ends of the country.
  15. (First time cruiser). I don't think we'll get value out of the drinks package, so I was wondering if I can buy on-board credit before my trip? I'd like to know I won't be facing a bill when I'm disembarking. Thanks in advance.
  16. We're doing the Norwegian Fjords trip next year (M421). It's our first time travelling with Cunard - we're very excited. 🙂
  17. On our QM2 cruise next year, we have the following ports of call. As first-timers, we'd appreciate tips for these locations - places to see etc. Kristiansand - early morning to early afternoon Olden - morning to early evening Alesund - early morning to afternoon Stavanger - morning to afternoon Thanks in advance.
  18. Thanks a million @sfred - plenty of research there for me! 😄
  19. You've sold it to me! 😁
  20. Thanks again @exlondoner It's not so much the Fjords as the North Sea that has me worried! 😂
  21. Crikey! Trying to pick a cabin is an adventure in itself!! Normally I don't have sea legs, so I wonder if mid or aft would be better than forward? Would there be much difference between deck 4 and deck 5? Apologies for all the questions! 😵
  22. Thanks @Bell Boy 👍 No medical reason. We'll just not bother with the package so.
  23. The hubby and I will be married 30 years next year and have (almost) decided to splash out (pun intended 😉) on a cruise. We'd love to go to Norway so we're thinking - why not cruise there?! We're looking at this cruise in July. https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/find-a-cruise/M421/M421 I think I've fallen in love with Cunard! As we're complete novices (I've been on one Caribbean cruise), we'd love to benefit from the advice of these boards. Our budget is approx. €3,000 / $3,200 / £2,600. Thanks in advance! 🛳️
