  1. I think people are booking her thinking these numbers are a mistake and will be corrected once the cruising starts....they just can't be right! I know plenty who booked last year at even better pricing who weren't able to book hardly any cabins for just 2 people. On any other ship you can book 2 into cabins for 3 or more, why not this ship. Never received a decent answer about this from corporate and I did ask my contacts there....???? And @jptoz I know you were kidding but those numbers are not chump change to us, we are not in that catagory.
  2. It's pushing us to camping and road trips
  3. And I agree with everything you said in your initial post. Pricing for both these ships is getting to be quite ridiculous. We booked a Sunset Veranda on Celebrity Asent for April 2025 for only $2499!
  4. Nancy, I said I DIDN"T DOUBT IT! I know you cut n pasted it. Please look at my post again.
  5. I've had our stewards and Jordan Bauth also say that WalMart gift cards are good! Also Starbucks gift cards. Oops you already got that one. I always take a small room deodorizer from Bath and Body works too and then I just leave it in the cabin for the stew.
  6. We've paid more for our Celebrity cruises and nothing near what this ship will offer so we're in.
  7. We paid $2400 for an inside but I don't want to miss this ship. Couldn't do it now and certainly not Star if your post is authentic and I don't doubt it is. Maybe our last chance at the Icon class. But at least we're getting to experience her. 8. I think you are right about THAT...but I'd have said that to you right in front of you, I said "almost" and I meant "not all". Sorry you choose to take it that way. IMHO, most ships out of Florida and Texas do the exact same ports. I stand by that as I went to RCCL to check it out, they include Europe. The compatibility issues have been solved by most ports. The real issue is, why do you feel the need to keep trying to correct me?
  9. You should book her immediately! 🤗
  10. I disagree, they visit most islands in the Caribbean and the common ports in the Med. "Not even close"....seriously? Just like every other ship. The only one I've noticed they do not is Belize, very shallow there and no pier. BTW, the word "almost" in English means there may be exceptions.
  11. We like all the techi stuff so we can stand it, I think it's visually pleasing...to each his own. I liked Quantum class and will book Odyssey in a heartbeat and go to the show.
  12. I've been looking at Youtube reviews since she moved to Texas....how'd you like her?
  13. Ask for "Resolution dept" and press for rebooking at another time...they may dock you a couple hundred but I've read others have been successful. Good luck with your fur baby
  14. I would see it again just for the violinist, she is sensational! But me and my hubs are techi freaks so the tech is phenomenal too.
  15. Since I associate these with our cruises I won't be baking them myself. I'd rather make them special by asking for them, if they are really phasing them out so be it. But I wouldn't part with the sour dough rolls, they'll hear from me about those...I really look forward to them as we don't normally eat much bread anymore (Keto)
  16. Our steward happily got us one for my electric wheelchair. It's good because then you are assured it's legit with the ship.
  17. We LOVED it on Odyssey. One of my favorite shows on any ship. Can't wait to see it again. Guess I'm just easy, but I was fascinated. But then again, I did not like Mama Mia at all and I've seen it twice.
  18. My favorite are the old sourdough rolls and they have really cut back on them as well, but on Allure I asked for both of them and I got them the next night. I even request them warmed and they were more than happy to comply. One of my favorite adages: "You have not because you ask not". So I always ask and politely smile if they refuse...and there are some times they do.
  19. Tips from Garden5B: I cut down the recipe to 1/20th of the original. For my savory base, I used 2/3 soft sun-dried tomatoes, 1/3 potato flour and some italian seasoning. I ran it all through the food processor until it was pretty much the consistency of flour. I think next time, I would reduce the sun-dried tomatoes to 1/2 or slightly less, and make up the rest with the flour/italian seasoning. As an avid bread baker, I think you will be able to substitute wheat flour (bread) for the potato flour though and come out pretty tasty anyway.
  20. I had them on Allure last September. Any baker will tell you that is not factual. They should have the Potato Bread Flour on all the ships, but maybe yours didn't. Here's the recipe courtesy of BIGKAHUNA: Savory Bites Recipe Servings: 1157 pieces (!) •25 pounds Potato Bread Flour. •2 ½ pounds Savory base. •2 pounds Margarine. •5 ounces Dry Yeast •7 ½ liters Water. 1.Mix all ingredients for 2 to 3 min slow and 5 to 6 min fast speed until well developed. 2.Rest the dough for 30 min. 3.Scale into 16 oz. pieces and pre shape. 4.Roll them sheet pan long and dip in Poppy seed, than put 9 pieces on one sheet pan. 5.Store in freezer overnight. 6.When ready to bake defrost about 3 hours in the fridge, cut them into small triangles (25 pieces per pound stick). 7.Place 9 x 6 on one sheet pan. 8.Bake them between 220 °C and 230 °C and steam for about 13 to 17 min until golden brown.
  21. Just ask for them at first dinner, they will have them for you the next day. I have done it many times,
  22. Not that unusual, I've done the same since I learned about a "Swingers" charter cruise just before ours way back in 2012...LOL
  23. We had just about given up on Chops and low and behold it was our favorite of all the venues on Allure last September! Outstanding! We did Giovanni's and 150. All good but we were quite surprised about Chops. Oh I forgot about Sabors, we loved that too! Shortribs were my fave. We did it long ago and weren't that impressed but this time good, we'd do that again too. Woohoo, Bon Voyage ya'll. OK I'm getting that cup!
  24. Sorry ADPMOM that we have hijacked this thread so many times! 🙄
