I also emailed sbpcl@princescruises.com and told them that I was not comfortable using an app with my personal financial information.  They responded that I should go to the Stockperks/Carnival website to learn how to apply for my perks.  I was pretty annoyed as Princess  also wouldn’t accept the stock information from my TA as they had in the past.  Today I decided to go to the website that they suggested, but before I did I remembered your post and decided to check my Personalizer.  Sure enough, it was already there.  My annoyance has diminished, but I still think that in this age of increasing hacking and security breaches Princess should not force its loyal customers to get involved with a third party.  Recently I was notified that there was a security breach of information at one of the doctor’s offices that I go to and my sister has had almost $10,000 lifted from her bank account.  There’s too much monkey business going around.

@mevs904 Glad to hear you had the shareholders benefits OBC posted in your cruise personalizer. I agreed with you on the hacking that happened in many situation so we needed to be extra careful to disclose unnecessary personal info. Enjoy your upcoming cruise.

I emailed hello@stockperks.com a week ago. Initially they directed me to the app. I replied that I didn't want to use the app. Today I received an email with the following reply:

We have submitted this claim and Princess should process it in the next 5 business days.

We'll be in touch with confirmations.

We'll also have a desktop option available in the very near future so you can submit your future claims that way.

    Kind regards

Guess what? I used the old way by emailing sbpcl@princesscruises.com on Friday morning to request the shareholders OBC, I didn't receive any auto reply acknowledging my Shareholders benefits request (old response) nor asking me to use stockperks app (new response). Thought my email request was ignored as no one use that email address anymore. To my surprise, I checked my Princess cruise personalizer on the same day at night, the Shareholders OBC was posted. @Teechur you can try and see.

We are still having difficulties. We did manage to upload a picture. But unfortunately, we had a one page with my broker's name, my name and my account number on it, and a separate page with all the stocks listed. I managed to upload one page, and when I tried to take a picture of the second page, the app did not allow me to do it. It kept getting stuck on the page with the message " upload was successful" and would not allow me to take another picture. Then I got a message on my email that the request has been sent and they are reviewing it. But I know that I haven't even included the page with the list of the stocks including the Carnival Corp that they will be looking for. So I am back to square one. I might have to wait for a few days until they send me another message to say the information I sent is not sufficient and maybe I can try to do the whole process again. Is there a way to send more than one picture to the app? This whole experience is really frustrating and irritating.

@gam888 Just wonder if your OBC for shareholders issue has been resolved. We are Canadians, just trying to claim the shareholders benefits OBC for our upcoming Princess cruise. We used to email Princess cruise so not sure what's our next step. Appreciate if you can let us know where you email your request. Did you end up using Stockperks App to get it? Thanks

@LACruiser88 can you explain why you think it was backed-up like that?  Did you self-embark with your own luggage or leave the ship in the later groups?

(Asking b/c I'm testing the notion that I can make an early FLL flight after my cruise in February)...

@JGmf we walked off the ship with our own luggage this morning as our flight was 11:20am to Canada (international flight). Left ship at 7:20, 35-40 mins wait to go through immigration. Took taxi and arrived  FLL airport at 8:20 am. Just give you some idea on the timing.

Short walk from where the shuttle drops off to the Livorno C train station then 5.8€ rt to Pisa C. Walked to tuttomondo (Keith Haring c1989) off to the tower area (too crowded) finally off to some old walls before wandering back there way I came (-> Pisa C -> Livorno C -> shuttle). Thinked I only logged 5 mi20231124_104428.thumb.jpg.b10e6115ee9b7706756350380fc318f0.jpg

@Ombud glad to hear you did 5 miles. How long it took for you to walk to Livorno Central station from where the shuttle dropoff? Surprised it was a short walk 🤔. Our bus ride was about 10-15 mins.

Thank you for the info…… is there a website where we could view the info on the  three different routes, Pisa, Florence or Pisa/Florence. Also is it better to use money( euros) vs a credit card? This is our first trip to this part of the world and we want to make the process go smoothly. We are boarding the ship in Rome after spending 2 nights there after flying in early to avoid the holiday travel madness. Thank you in advance. Paul and Jaci

@Toottoot22 I found this, I think this is the website for buses out from Livorno to different places (39 Euros to Florence), it has discount if you order online. You can check it out.

    Hi All,

Ottawa now requires an appointment to get a visa. We still have no definitive answer on whether or not a visa is required if you are entering by cruise ship. Apparently Celebrity has indicated Canadians do not need to apply for visa in advance.

    I’m still nervous.

Celebrity Cruises is one line that stops in Alexandria, Egypt, and according to an update posted last week by the Canadian team, it appears passengers, under the new guidance, will be granted 72-hour visas on arrival.

Celebrity says a 72-hour visa can be obtained upon vessel arrival for most nationalities (including U.S, Canada, U.K., E.U., and Australia).

For 72-hour visa guests, immigration officers will stamp the guest passports on arrival.

The new requirement for Canadians to apply for an Egyptian visa in advance applies only for entry by air, Celebrity notes.

I followed Celebrity Apex Sept 26th 2023 Roll Call with stop in Alexandra, Egypt. One cruiser with the following comment "Just came from a meeting for the back to back who are already aboard and found out you do not need a visa for Egypt. A waste of $120.00. I thought there was gonna be a mutiny lol with the people in the meeting started questioning the information that was given. They will be collecting our passports the night before and Egyptian imagination will be coming on board the ship at 2am and will be stamping our passports with the visa. Supposedly you only need one when flying into Egypt not by ship. FYI"

I know that in some Chinese ports, either ship excursions or Chinese government authorized tour operators will allow passengers to get off the ship but I’ve seen nothing to suggest that both options exist for Egypt.  However, I am just guessing with respect to Egypt.  Sorry, but there’s nothing in my response from Azamara which answers your question.

Thank you @travelordie my cruise is early 2024. I booked an authorized tour operator. If you find out more info when you are on your Oct cruise, please share. Thanks so much. Enjoy your upcoming cruise.

I have still not heard back from the Egypt e-visa Portal and therefore cannot apply for an e-visa.  Fortunately, I did hear back from Azamara Customer Service a few minutes ago and they answered my question about whether Canadians need an Egyptian visa for our October, 2023 cruise.  Azamara's response was exactly what we had hoped for.  Here it is:

"No visa is required for Canadian residents if they arrive onboard and have booked a shore excursion and return onboard before vessel departure. The exemption will be submitted via our agency and subject to antitreaties approvals. If you have not booked a shore excursion, you cannot leave the vessel, unless you have obtained a visa from an Egyptian embassy or consulate abroad before arriving at the airport/onboard the ship."

@travelordie great to hear Azamara got back to you. Just wonder if the shore excursion mentioned must be the cruise line excursion or it can be the shore excursion organized by Egyptian authorized tour operators? Wonder if you have any insights.

I would just wait to see what happens with the cruises to Egypt that are starting in 10 days. All will be answered!

I'm cautious like you too. Did Celebrity offer this 72 hours transit visa to Canadians before this change in October? Thought Canadians still applied eVisa not 72 hours transit visa. I'm like you, not comfortable to mail my passport to Ottawa/Montreal. Also, It is more costly to get Visa plus registered mail. Our cruise is Feb 2024 as well. Let us know if you hear more on the upcoming cruises to Egypt in October. Thanks

Glad to see this thread is a little bit active again!

We've decided on PR718 for our cruise next October.  From what I've continued to read, the first rooms in this stretch (PR701 and PR702) are right next to the door from the Promenade back inside.  Apparently there's quite a bit of noise from the doors opening and closing as people realize they can't walk around.  I've also found out that "white space" on the deck plan (between 718 and 722 as well as 719 and 723) is a linen storage closet.

@cricketts I came across with your posting on booking Island Princess PR718. Just wonder how did you like it? Interested to know the PR cabins

Oh sorry... I keep forgetting where I've posted stuff 🤣 Yes, they mailed it back with refund!! They said I didn't need it.

Here's a link to an unconfirmed article (but as I said embassy official confirmed with me today when I called) https://www.travelweek.ca/news/cato-issues-egypt-visa-statement-unconfirmed-report-of-evisa-extension-could-come-sept-10/

Hopefully official announcement comes soon from Canadian government.

    Thank you @SparklyPinkCruiser.

Update from Celebrity is good news (except for me who already applied for Visa!)

    • A note for Canadian Guests: The 2023 changes regarding Canadians needing to apply for an Egyptian visa in advance applies only for entry by air. The authorities re-confirmed entry via cruise ships, for transit call purposes, guests can still apply for a 72-hour visa upon arrival as noted above.

@SparklyPinkCruiser thank you for this helpful info. Much appreciated 😘

  14. Just to let your guys know, we had $180 refundable OBC (prepaid by purchasing credit from CAD to USD online to spend on board) when we disembarked Island Princess cruise on June 28, 2023. Was told by customers service on board that it will be refunded by cheque in 4-8 weeks. Received a cheque in the mail on July 21, 2023. I was surprised to see how quickly it was processed and we live in Canada. So there's hope   🙂 Last time (before pandemic) we had refundable OBC, it took 2 months for the cheque to arrive. It is important to keep a copy of the on board statement as proof just in case the refund check not arrive. p.s. Customer service was able to refund cash if the refundable OBC is less than $50.
