  1. We are now onboard for a week to the Fjords. It looks like it's all gone back to normal. Facemasks are back to recommended, some are wearing some not. Laundry open and I've just sat at the bar for a drink. Phew quiet relived, but I am expecting things to change at short notice. I might be able to do little checking during the week so let me know if you have any questions. Big refill bottles in the bathroom [Britannia] please don't take as they are saving plastic and are refillable. Carpet in room is old but cleaned and looks like a new sofa [covering] and new curtains. Carpet in corridors seems new as soft on footing. Pub looks exactly the same. That's it so far.   2. I disagree. Back then, the talk was things are going to be ok, soon back to normal. Omicron did not exist, people were starting to think about their future as a back to normal living and vaccines were the way out of this.
  3. I will assume this is it moving forward but, as yet, we have no email stating any of this for Sunday's sailing. There will probably now be one in my inbox just as I send this!
  4. Looks like i'm the only one who is quite upset to hear this. We booked back in November right before Omicron hit and Cunards T&C's were if you cancel you lose all your money. I personally would not have booked have we foreseen this. At the time things were looking so much brighter. As it was Cunard were holding all or money from past cancellations so we can not afford to just pull out. I was so pleased to see masks were going. I will, internet permitting, let you know how things are going once onboard this Sunday.
  5. We are on board next Sunday 3/6 I will be reporting back once home and maybe on board if time and web access.
  6. I believe is just for flying at the moment. We are going to Norway next month and their rules are as open as the UK yet we still need to get fit to fly type tests before boarding, so I would not hold your breath re cruising. Obviously great news if you are flying into the US though.

  8. I love the set dining times and actually really enjoy getting to know the waiting staff. We often get funny looks from some because we are laughing and joking with them all evening. We do this for one reason only and that is because we treat everyone the same, we expect nothing out of the ordinary in return, but I can guarantee we get fantastic service and nothing is too much trouble, even the sommelier walking out of the dining room to the gin bar to get a gin that was not in the main dining room. I remember one time at afternoon tea seeing our evening waiter and saying how the tea was nowhere near as good as he made each evening. Five minutes later he was back at our table with a separate full pot of perfectly made tea just for me.
  9. Will they empty the fridge for you if you asked? I always bring drink on board, then play the in out game with the fridge. I have in the past just stored the original contents in a box and placed it all back before leaving. No idea why i've never just asked them to take it away. To add to others no limit chat, I have a little pull along case just for this. If you opened it for a week there is normally 2 bottles of fizz, I bottle gin various tonic, a small bottle of baileys and a couple of bottles of water and a OJ. Feel free to knock the door if you want a night cap! We don't drink "that" much there are three of us in our cabin.
