  1. Not sure on this. We are looking at the Canaries trips but I can’t find any info regarding the pre travel fit to fly/ boarding tests for Gran Canaria or Tenerife. I will keep on digging. Keep well.😉
  2. With testing required before flying, I'm not sure I'd want to book very late. Thats a good call Howmuch, I hadn’t factored in the time required to order and receive the testing kits.👍 I would think that a couple of weeks notice would be ample to get them sorted. Keep well.
  3. We had a fortnight around the canaries which we booked late January 2020, The trip was the second week in February onwards. It was one of those that we weren’t intending to do but the price was too good to miss we had a junior suite for the price of a balcony. At the moment we are looking at a couple of weeks in the canaries late November,December or early January I won’t be booking until last minute regardless. The transatlantic trip in December is at a cracking price but unfortunately the insurance will cost as much as I would be paying for the cruise.🤷‍♂️
  4. Hi Jim Sorry if I worded it wrong but it should read read Vax proof digital or paper. The spTH form was withdrawn in April according to this. 🤷‍♂️ Keep well. Travel to Spain just got easier - the latest on the SpTH Health Check Form By Paul Johnson on Apr 06, 2022 in Europe, Health & Safety, Regions, Spain, Travel Miscellany, There’s good news for travellers to Spain! From today, the SpTH Health Check Form is no longer needed to enter Spain for all passengers, regardless of their country of departure, who have an EU Digital COVID Certificate (or EU equivalent) of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative certificate of a diagnostic test for active infection or a certificate of recovery after having passed this disease. Children under 12 years of age and those in international transit are exempt of this requirement.
  5. They are probably getting rid of all of their stock before the Greek government drop the testing requirement.😲😉
  6. Hi Jim. Thats not too bad the NHS vaccination proof certs are just download and print, The Spanish spTH form was a bit of a bind to fill in especially if you were going on a cruise holiday. Hopefully normal service is slowly being resumed.🤞🏻 Keep well.
  7. Great news, another hour faffing about with government forms out of the way.👍
  8. Hi.MIB. Yes crossed lines I think.🤦🏻‍♂️ In the bars and lounges the drinks waiters never keep you waiting for long when your glass is empty, they really are good. Keep well.
  9. The waiting staff that serve your dinner also serve your wine, Pre ordering isn’t necessary. The main dining room is anytime dining so you won’t know your table number until you turn up.😉
  10. Here's hoping you have a great trip Dave.👍 Keep well.😉
  11. Hi Dave. Not sure about Gatwick, at Birmingham it’s pretty much as you have described it but we don’t scan our passport at the self serve bag drop just the boarding pass, After weighing the case the labels are printed and attached to the bags and the case is put onto the belt we then go to the adjacent TUI check in desks where they check our passport and boarding pass and then we go to through to security. Last time at Birmingham there was TUI staff who check all necessary documents while we were in the queue, also there are staff milling about near the scales to assist where needed. Keep well.
  12. We have used Chronomics a few times and it’s pretty slick to be fair. you order the test kits online and they are delivered three to seven days before your trip. On the day that you need to do your test you register onto the Chronomics website/app. Each kit has a unique number allotted to it. There is a comprehensive step by step instruction leaflet enclosed with the kit. When the test is completed you take a picture of your negative result (hopefully) and upload it to the Chronomics site/app, Usually within minutes you will receive an email with your negative certification which you can print out if you wish. No supervision required at all. Hope this helps.
  13. Hi H Regarding the booster in my opinion it’s all that we have so I will trust it, The last three haven’t done me any harm.( the extra ear growing on the back of my head is quite handy)😂 I think that the pre departure test could be something to do with maritime regs or more likely as pointed out on here perhaps it’s a money making project with their partners that supply the test kits.🤔 Anyways keep well.😉
  14. Covid testing isn’t a bad thing, At least we know that most people that board should still be negative. I understand that not everyone on the aircraft will have been tested but some is better thane none. Covid is still out there, the good news is they are starting the booster campaign from Monday.😷💉🦠
  15. We did a trip to France recently departing from EMA and it was pretty swift dropping the bags off and going through security. I don’t think they are having the staffing problems that the bigger airports are having.
  16. Hi PC. All’s well here now. Wifey has pretty much recovered from her covid episode, There’s only me that hasn’t had it in our household. Never went on Destiny, The other half has but that was before I started doing the cruise holidays. We are looking at late November for a couple of weeks in the Canaries, but thinking to leave it until later to book it, we had a good last minute deal on a junior suite a couple of years ago You need to get a move on with your booking, you know that you want to.😂😂 Hoping you and Mrs PC are both keeping well.😉 look after yourselves.
  17. Cool.👍 Hope you get to see your game.😉
  18. I have never seen live football onboard. I would imagine that to show games they would have to be docked or near enough to the shore to get a tv signal or wi-fi/data 5g etc. also there would be copyright liabilities with Sky sports etc. I have watched a couple of games in bars near ports but that also depends on the ships departure times🤷🏻‍♂️ Welcome 😉
  19. Hi Dave. I thought that they wouldn’t let a couple book an A seat and a C seat (which left the middle seat available to book or empty)
  20. Hi RR. In general I am a pretty laid back person but because it’s me with the potentially serious ailments I have to double check belt and braces that everything is in place and correct should anything happen when we are away. My OH would crumble in a crisis guaranteed. The way I see it is it’s easier to sort it and check it’s all in order at my lesuire rather to leave it to a panicking spouse if something went wrong over there. Once it’s done ….Relax.😉😂 Keep well.
  21. Hi RR. what does “whilst onboard a uk cruise” mean.?
  22. Good morning Fife. The plug on the desk where the kettle sits is a round two pin EU type. I don’t recall seeing USB ports apart from in the junior suites. We use a four way UK multi plug that also has four usb charging ports ( available on Amazon) We ordered our test’s from Chronomics when we booked the cruise, Chronomics send the tests out usually seven to ten days before embarkation date. Earlier this year we didn’t notice any staff shortages. Everything was running smoothly as normal. I must agree with you regarding the staff they are one of the reasons we book again and again. Hope you have a great trip.😉
  23. Hi Del. Pre covid my wife used the standard Lloyds bank travel insurance for years, Since covid Marella have inserted into their terms that you must have Comprehensive cruise cover with covid cover specifically included. For the last couple of cruises that we have done recently I have bundled my wife’s travel insurance with mine which already included cruise cover, I don’t really know what comprehensive cover means.🤷‍♂️ Just before we joined the ships at the port check in they did look at insurance docs along with vaccination proof etc. Hope this helps.
