We sailed Carnival one time. Never again. But, everyone has different things that matter to them. Ice cream isn't a big deal to us. We felt the service was really lacking on Carnival, but some may not object because you do get towel animals in the cabin.

We rebooked from the Three for Free promotion to the Anniversary promotion because it worked out better for our particular cruise. As long as you aren't past the final payment date you can rebook unless the promotion is for new bookings only. But, that type of promotion is usually offered after final payment date.

Thanks so much! Boy, do I feel dumb, it was staring me in the face all the time! Guess I'm too used to Celebrity, where pretty nuch everything you do requires extra steps. Been finding a few aspects of Princess' site that is so much simpler to use.
Celebrity must have the worst web site of any cruise line. When planning a cruise for this year, I looked at some Celebrity cruises and was so put off by their web pages, I quickly abandoned the idea.

We will be using EZ-Air for the second time this fall. We are flying Seattle to Barcelona in business class with Delta for $2200 pp. Since it's a flexible fare, we can change or cancel up to 45 days in advance. We couldn't find fares anywhere else for anywhere close to this price. I've never looked at EZ-Air for domestic flights, but it sure works for international flights.

We were in D730 in July 2015 in the Baltics. Never had a problem. Loved the cabin.

Since retirement, my DW and I have only been doing cruises of 10 or more days. When walking through the cabin decks, the rooms are primarily labeled with blue and gold name tags. Even though there are plenty of platinum and elite cruisers on board, they don't tend to make up the majority of the ship. Far from it actually.
Our last cruise was a Baltic cruise. We went with two family members who were on their first Princess cruise. When checking in my wife and I received priority boarding as platinum members. However, we wanted to board the ship with our family. We waited all of one minute for them to catch up to us. We had to laugh because there wasn't really any benefit, on that cruise at least, to priority boarding.

We have had cabin E731 on the Crown twice. It's our favorite cabin by far. There is no noise from above on this side of the ship. It has an extended balcony with views to the rear. Jump on it if you can.

So glad you enjoyed the Regal. We sailed on her last year and couldn't discover what all the complaints were about. She became our favorite ship. We are booked on the Royal later this year for 21 days.

We've had E731 on the Crown twice. One of our favorite cabins ever. Book it if you can.

You should receive two credits. I have a similar cruise on the Royal in October which we booked as one but can be booked as two separate cruises. When I sign in and look under my cruise history, it shows as a future cruise with 2 credits.
Thanks. I would have never thought to look under cruise history. It shows one cruise, but with two credits.

We are booked on the Grand Mediterranean Collection, a 21 day cruise, in September. This is actually a combination of the 10 day Western Mediterranean and the 11 day Grand Mediterranean cruises offered by Princess on the Royal Princess. We could have booked these cruises separately. We would have received more OBC, but the fare would have been higher. We saved a little by booking it as one cruise. Now I'm wondering about the cruise credits. Will we receive credit for two cruises or only one? I tried to find this information on the Princess website, but had no luck.
-
I don't see where you have much of a choice as to the time of the year. If you are planning on taking a transatlantic cruise home from the British Isles with Princess then you have to go in September or maybe early October.

We just rebooked our Mediterranean cruise for next summer also. We gave up the 3 for free so lost our free tips, but our fare dropped from $2799 pp for a deluxe balcony to $1899 pp for a mini suite. This rebooking is saving us more than $1500 and we upgraded our cabin as well. I sure don't see it as a bait and switch.

We were booked under the 3 for Free deal on a Western Mediterranean cruise next September. It was a great deal. We had a mid ship deluxe balcony on the Royal at $2799 pp. it included free tips, a $135 benefit pp, and a $200 cabin OBC. I couldn't believe my good fortune with this current sale. The free tips went away, but the same cabin is now $1999 pp and the OBC for the cabin is now $400. We saved over $1500 by rebooking with this current sale. It may not benefit everyone, but we really made out.

We used Princess last year for this hotel. We had a very nice room. A couple traveling with us booked the same hotel on their own. Their room was nice, but much smaller. I don't know if this helps you or not.
-
Just got off the Regal last Saturday and had SR C132, Balcony. The room had one chair to sit on and one desk chair, no couch. The Balcony was small but usable!

You would need a deluxe balcony to get the small sofa.

If you check with Princess let us know what they tell you. I'd also like to do this on our cruise from Rome next year.

GOOD ONE!!!!
She did call her ta and they called Princess who said they do have the cabin.
They have friends in the cabin next door and wanted to be close to them otherwise they don't really care where they are - it is such a port intense cruise.
Thanks for the posts
If your friend and theirs want to assure they remain in cabins next to each other they should have Princess mark both cabins as do not upgrade.
-
If she received an upgrade, the new cabin number would be in the personalizer.

We did a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam with Vantage. It was a completely different, but very enjoyable experience compared to ocean cruising. We will definitely do another in the future. Be prepared for non refundable deposits, little if any entertainment and fewer food choices. With ocean cruising much of the experience is the ship. With river cruising it's mostly about the amazing ports you visit.
The initial costs may seem high, but excursions are included as is wine and soda with lunch and dinner. You won't be spending money in gift shops on board or on photos. There are no casinos or art auctions to take your money. WIFI is included and works well. We didn't miss not having entertainment as we were worn out by the time dinner was done. You won't find anytime dining as there is only one dining room and one meal time.
It was one of the best cruises we've ever taken.

Princess is introducing club class mini suites. So some of the mini suite cabin categories are changing to accommodate this.

They'll be a lot of pencils around that sick people have touched for your use also.

Can anyone tell me what the taxi situation is at the port in Messina? Is it easy to catch a taxi to Taormina? And then is it easy to find a taxi back to the ship? What does a taxi cost from Messina to Taormina?

I'm confused by some of your questions. It appears from your signature that you've already sailed on the Regal.

Loved your review. We were on the Regal for 12 days in 2015 and will be doing 21 days on the Royal later this year. I believe that you will find the average age increases as the cruise days increase. Younger people and families are more prevalent on cruises of seven days or less.
