  1. I've been such an idiot!  Paid full bill on all previous cruises, never took advantage of SOBC or even knew about it! Bought wine on board instead of bringing it on. Even traded my elite mini bar for water while buying coffee cards! Yea, I learn a lot from others on cc.

    THANK YOU EVERYONE

  2. I just call my PCP but anyone at Princess can do it. For me it was always cancelling current booking, making a new one thus trading out promos for new ones. Sometimes it's worth it .... sometimes not especially if it involves upgraded air fares @ $300 off / free gratuities.  The price dropped on my November 28th, 2018 airfare and cruise. However by the time I factored in the promos, it actually went up.

  3. I see a reason to buy 100 shares but I do not see a reason to reinvest the dividends. They're much better investment vehicles out there. No one, certainly not me, is talking about sticking the dividends in a bank account at .01% interest.

Our last 4 cruises its been listed in the travel summary about a week out from sailing.

    Back with stupid questions:

Can I use it to buy the water pkg? 1 said only 2 days before embarkation, the other said water can only be bought with cc or PayPal. I've got a ton of credit

Also PCC said I can use it to pay gratuity but only on board, form says non-refundable not for casino or gratuities. Guess I'll know soon ~~~ 29 days to go

Have any of you used loyalty credits for either?

  5. We have a meet and greet from 10 to 11 first see day. The only drink I can think of having that early in the day would be a mimosa. But there's none showing here. I know I'm bringing a small champagne on board with me, and I may indeed get one in my Suite. I've never been to a suite before. I'm thinking of just getting orange juice and making my own. Does anyone know if you can get a mimosa in the morning?

  6. Sorry for your loss

Cruising solo is a lot easier than traveling solo. By booking TD you will always have dinner partners. Tours are easy places to meet up with others with similar interests as well. You will now get to cruise credits for each cruise you take, which get you to those extra benefits faster.

I solo cruise and I'm not interested in doing it on a ship that has half size solo rooms. Sticking to Princess

What is the wine “etiquette” in bringing the wine that you have already paid corkage fee to the MDR, specialty restaurant or even to any bars?   Do you just carry the bottle from place to place or do you put it in a wine carrier?

I just pour myself a glass and take the glass in. I never drink more than one glass of wine with dinner anyway

Maybe I should trade the minibar for wine and have the waiter keep that one this cruise :classic_biggrin:

  8. I think this is in a state of flux. I just booked a 3FF repositioning cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Quebec next July. Normally I would ask the 6 pm dining. But with all of these changes I had put into my profile for the late dining. My PCC did the booking for me and I went to review the forms and make the payment. Well on my ship the 3 dining times are 5, 6:30, and 8:15. Needless to say I'm not eating at 5 or 8:15. So once again I changed it. 6:30 or 7 is perfect. ATD is looking good!

I phoned Princess in Australia about the upgrade they have given me.  I had booked an obstructed view cabin near the Aft. lifts on deck 8 (Emerald) on the Majestic Princess.  The upgrade moved me more Ford. to an obstructed de-luxe cabin.  Asked if I could be moved one deck up to a cabin back near the lifts.  The price of these cabins are presently being advertised at hundreds of dollars less than what I paid for my original cabin.  Said they could not upgrade me to a higher category cabin even though it is being advertised at a much lower cost.  It was just a similar cabin one deck up.  I told them I had a disability  and like to be close to  the Aft. elevators on this ship.  I've paid hundreds more than what they are now selling them for and this change of cabin is 'just paperwork".  Loyalty and being Elite on Princess (some 15 cruises) does not seem to count for much.

Call Princess and inform them you need an ADA room close to an elevator

That's a great change in your cabins but that is a bit different than an upgrade because it's an upsell.  Upgrades are free.

I do love the upsells and it's a great way to get a better cabin without paying full price.

Got it -- learning terms. My PCC used to just say "would you like a better deal?" But now it goes thru Administration (or maybe it always did?)

It was free on the Royal but only a few categories

  11. Upgrades happen ALL THE TIME bUT you have a very limited time to accept / reject. I called my PCC (Friday?) And asked if I was on an upgrade list. Yesterday offered a B2 (Premium balcony) in exchange for an OC (Ocean Center) for a $250 fee (8 category upgrade) . Solo alone would have been 4400 so this is like not paying that solo supplement.  My Royal in June was upgraded too from a BF room I picked to a BB

OP you'll know 0-5 weeks b4 you board when shifting starts IMHO
