  1. Thanks so much. . Been awhile since I've done a winter cruise. Appreciate it.
  2. Cruising the Med/Greece the end of Oct into Nov. Will be on the Enchantment. Thinking the weather may not permit using the outdoor pools, but will the Solarium pool be available at this time. Thanks much
  3. Our cruise visits Santorini, Mykonos and Kusadasi (ending in Athens) the first week of November. I know the beaches and supporting areas will be all but closed for the season. We have a tour scheduled for Kusadasi, but any recommendations for Santorini/Mykonos are welcome.
  4. oh dear... Well after being told by a RCI rep there was an RCI shuttle from Seattle airport to the Vancouver port..... I then made flight and hotel arrangements. Called back to RCI to give them the flight info (as they'd requested).....only to be told NO RCI SHUTTLE. I had to rebook the flights/hotels to (and in) Vancouver. My cousins are coming now and they are flying into Seattle, staying overnight and then renting a car to drive to the port. You might look at a car rental.
  5. The cruise deal was too good to pass up......even knowing there will likely be no beach time. What have you done there when it will be cooler and perhaps overcast or even rainy?
  6. This is great news. Just what we are looking to do!
  7. Do you recall what the cost to rent a car for just the one day was? Also what was the cost for the Kroschel doing it on your own? I'm sure pricing has gone up, but his page is difficult to navigate.
  8. Thanks for this information. Is the town enjoyable to walk and spend time just seeing it? We've done Alaska before with all the bells and whistles.. Looking for a scaled down vacation this trip and don't need the big ticket items. Any suggestions?
  9. We'd like to just walk around the town. Is it doable from the dock? Any suggestions ?
  10. I don't even know if there is one. We are 3 adults in a small cabin and previous cruises (larger ships)..... the dtr hopped over to the spa for shower and dressing since we were sort of cramped. But can't seem to find out. Reservation agents tell me......yes there is a spa but you have to pay for services. HELP?? Thanks much.
  11. Will be needing a scooter or wc for travel. Person is not wheelchair bound but will need some mobility assistance at times. Can you make arrangements through the cruiselines for this or must you bring your own. Do not have a trip reserved yet, but planning on them so wanting to be prepared. Thanks much.
  12. I wonder how many people don't realize there are nuances when it comes to travel between countries.
  13. When their agents give incorrect information .. they need to take responsibility. And so far, seems they are doing that.
  14. For some follow up. I had been told by the agent at RCI to provide my airline info so they could make the appropriate shuttle reservation for us to go from Seattle airport to Vancouver cruise port. Called yesterday as we'd made the air tickets and was told that RCI DOES NOT HAVE A SHUTTLE THAT GOES BETWEEN. ah what!!!. I asked for the call to be escalated. I spoke with another rep who understandably needed to verify . Thank goodness sometimes for cell phones as I could give him the date/time and length of the call. They were able to verify I was given misinformation. So now I've rebooked into Vancouver. Not happy as the flights to SeaTac were non stop but it is what it is. At least they didn't cost more, which I would have made RCI pay the difference. They will have to do something about the difference in hotel rates. Vancouver is much more than the Comfort Inn at the airport. Also they'll need to get us to the hotel from the airport as we come in one day early and leave the day after. We'll see.......awaiting their response.
  15. I had made a reservation for the Best Western downtown Vancouver. To stay the night before and then the night after, the total in USD is $630 and that was with adding 12,000 BW points. Just checked some Seattle hotels and the Comfort Inn (which is far from an elegant hotel but this is just a need for a clean bed).... is a total of $292 for both nights.
  16. Has anyone used the shuttle? If so....... did you fly in the day of ship departure? We can get a non-stop from Nashville and be at the airport by 10AM. I know the shuttle takes about 3 hours so seems there would be ample time to board by 5. BUT....... we all know things happen so thing a flight in the day before might be safer. Happy to hear anyones experiences. Much appreciate.
  17. still have to make some decisions. Since the hotels in Seattle are 1/2 the cost of Vancouver, we may opt to fly in day before.
  18. My concerns are that if Royal makes the arrangements and things go askew.... somehow they'll (?? lol) correct it. The flights we are looking at get us to Seattle at 9:30AM. But still may think about flying in the day before.
  19. Thanks for that . We are making sure we've got new luggage with good rolling wheels.
