  1. Good morning from Grand Cayman ! Yesterday was a lazy sea day. Dinner was at Rooftop Garden Grill—- our first time. My top is to go hungry and skip lunch 😂😂. I had the port slider trio as an appetizer: My wife had the chicken wings with dry rub: Both were very good! For entrees, I had the BBQ 1/2 chicken with a fabulous side of bacon mac and cheese. My wife had the brisket: My wife thought the brisket was a little too fatty for her taste, the chicken was moist and not at all dry. The other sides were, mac&cheese, baked beans and creamed corn. We really didn’t want a beef entree but next time we will probably do the filet. Then …… DESSERT. My chocoholic wife had to have the cookie. She said it was one of the best she has ever had. I had the cherry apple pie: Once I took my wife’s vanilla ice cream and added it to the cherry apple pie, it was very good, but it needed that ice cream !! Today we may take a quick trip ashore for a short time—— or we may not . mac_tlc
  2. I have a mission for the day! @hcat, @countess5, @blueslily I will try to get you some answers! mac_tlc
  3. Strayed from Luminae for lunch today 😳😳😳😳. Went to Cosmopolitan. Here is the menu: More “basic” menu but we enjoyed it. It’s a nice room that seems big after Luminae. For those trivia buffs, we had the most enjoyable movie trivia with Flori in the Club. He acted out a scene from a classic movie , with the hints being the year it was released and a couple of the lead stars. He did all 12 scenes himself, complete with some costume changes and props. It was a great twist on the usual trivia session. He will definitely be getting a mention in our survey. Rooftop Garden tonight . Hope it’s not too windy. mac_tlc
  4. Agree with other posters. Our fav is 10123. We have had it on all the E class ships. Great location, and with it being behind the elevators, you get less foot traffic—-people exit the elevator and go left or right. mac_tlc
  5. To us, it’s not a switch…. It’s an expanded menu. We are E+ on X and will never make Zenith, even if we sailed exclusively with them. We are currently on Ascent in a SS and having a great time. We also booked it a year and a half ago at about $360pppd. Way back then, gratuities and $600OBC were included too. To us, it’s a good deal …. But you can’t get that deal anymore. Hence, the expanded menu. We have two westbound TA’s booked on Vista and look forward to experiencing something new. Will we “abandon” X ? Probably not, just be a bit more judicious with our spending. Their current prices have caused us to expand the menu much more than the onboard changes— although they are not insignificant either. mac_tlc
  6. On Ascent now and at Nachi Cocum yesterday we heard that the whole week so far has been a “no go” at Costa Maya. The NCL Epic was in Coz instead of CM and Voyager of the Seas skipped CM and docked in Coz late afternoon, presumably for an overnight. I can concur that it has been windy for us too. Let’s see if we get to Grand Cayman tomorrow. mac_tlc
  7. I noticed I have been somewhat remiss on the dinner food porn. Last night was at Luminae and they have one of our favorite entrees— short ribs. Here is the menu : DW and I had the same thing— Burrata, French Onion soup, Short ribs. Forgot to get a picture of the burrata but here are the short ribs: Very tender, IOHO, one of the best entrees at Luminae. mac_tlc
  8. A sunny day at sea, at least so far. Sailing at about 10 knots to get to Grand Cayman tomorrow morning. Here is the Celebrity Today for day 5:
  9. Day 7: Luminae lunch is on sea days, for this cruise it’s day 1,3 ,5, and 7. Lunch menu is different each day. mac_tlc
  10. Well well well, once the older sister left , our older cousin is taking her spot! Voyager was supposed to be in Costa Maya today but word is it was too windy and none of the ships could stop there today. Voyager was due in Cozumel tomorrow so it looks like she will do an overnight. Good port to do that —- mac_tlc
  11. Made it back to the ship with no issues or traffic. Six ships in port today so you never know. Apex all aboard was 3:30 so it should be leaving soon. Our all aboard is 6:30.
  12. Sounds like our plan! We are not beach lovers so the pool is our desired location. mac_tlc
  13. Today’s plan is a simple one — heading to Nachi Cocum. If we get there in time we will be at our usual table in the corner of the pool deck😂😂. Come by and say hi. Also, consider buying the entry picture from Ivonne. She is a great lady who saved us a few trips back when I forgot my credit card. Good souvenir and only about $12. mac_tlc
  14. Extra $200 OBC for onboard bookings for the next 48 hours, above the amount usually given:
  15. Not sure why, but we were walking by the World Class Bar and I decided to take pictures of the menu. Not sure we will go there but I was curious what their prices were — what with all the discussions lately about the PBP price limit. Now I think I need to try an American Pie Cocktail 😏. mac_tlc
  16. The demise of oatmeal in Luminae at breakfast has been greatly exaggerated! The menu has Very Berry Baked Oatmeal on it. I asked for plain and brown sugar : Nice and hot! mac_tlc
  17. We always have had 2 apps per person, one entree and a “shareable” one and have never been charged anymore. mac_tlc
  18. Ok , it’s time for the Eden entrees!! I ordered the Nova Scotia lobster casserole: I have had it before and it never disappoints. I am far from a lobster connoisseur, but I enjoy this one. My wife ordered her “go-to” — branzino: She said it was excellent — as always. But we couldn’t stop at one each , we ordered the filet & lamb Wellington to “share” 😜😜. The filet was “butter knife melt in your mouth “ tender, wonderful. The lamb Wellington was a bit strong —- the filet is the winner here. Great sauce/gravy surrounding the filet…. We had @Irishredhead21 seated next to us ! A pleasant surprise. It’s always nice to have folks you know for dinner!! As someone who is not a chocoholic, I appreciate the strawberry surprise for dessert : My wife had the butterscotch crème brûlée— I forgot to snap a picture ——— She liked it . No sharing here as she isn’t a strawberry fan and I am not a butterscotch fan. Of course the dessert tier tray is also delivered: Overall a fabulous meal with attentive but not overbearing service, drinks refilled frequently—- a pretty good view for the first 30 minutes : We have Eden booked again on Beyond next month — caught a deal a few months back and it was about $115 for two, gratuity included. As much as we like it - and we have never been disappointed — at the present on-board price of $85 + 20%, we will await a cruise planner sale. Especially since any OBC is no longer included in the Retreat fares and we have been fortunate to have been to Eden a number of times. I wish we had booked it for our August Edge Alaska voyage before the price increase. If you have never tried it —- you should. Be on the lookout for a sale or splurge… mac_tlc
