Gratuities on the drink and dining packages cannot be removed.  The Daily Service Charge can be adjusted or removed but it is part of the crew compensation and should be left intact.  If you have an issue with a crewman you should bring up the issue to Guest Services.

Thanks! I always remove them and give them cash personally

The big thing is getting access to the thermal spa, which if bought separately is around $250 for a 7-night cruise (Although it may depend on the ship/itinerary).Your room will be located near the spa, usually on the same floor, so no waiting for elevators.

The downside to bidding on an upgrade is that you don't pick your room, and many spa balconies are one floor underneath the pool deck or the fitness centre. You may find your "upgrade" is much louder than a cheaper cabin.

    gotcha, thanks

  3. So I have the chance to upgrade to the above rooms.  But what do they really offer?  I looked at the staterooms on the NCL website and it doesn't really talk about the spa rooms/suites.  Do you still have to buy some sort of pass to use the spa? Does the suite still come with complementary laundry service?  There's really not much information on what these include.  I can't decide if they are worth the upgrade, from $170 to $225 US minimum bid.  I did bid on the balcony for $125 so hopefully I will at least get that!

The flights through NCL are overpriced.

I beg to differ.  My mom and I got round trip tickets from Pensacola Fl to Orlando FL (with layover in ATL) for $100 each.  Did I mention they are round trip?!?  We couldn't even drive that cheap; about 8 hours away from us.

I seem to recall paying for a checked bag on Delta in 2019 with NCL-booked air (as a perk).

Was yours a domestic or international flight?  I flew to Mexico City in 2015 and didn't pay for a checked bag even though a baggage fee was pretty standard on domestic flights by then.

    International

Same here. No way in the world we could’ve gotten the deal on our own that we had with NCL, $199 round trip for two from DC to Miami. Even a nonstop on the way down. Our status with American meant we got free checked bags 🧳 and exit row seats on a 1/2 full flight. Also, I think some people are confused about why NCL doesn’t ticket until 45 days before sailing. They’re using ticket consolidators and buying in bulk, and the best deals aren’t available until then (they’re essentially unsold seats). They’re not trying to pull a fast one, despite what some are suggesting. It worked great for us & we’d do it again.

We also got free checked bags with Delta! I'm wondering if that's an NCL thing because we don't have any sort of status with them

Each of the cruise lines seem to have their own little things they cannot do very well with respect to their online website experience.  I can't seem to get NCL to understand that my friend and I do not live at the same address.  We're not a married couple.  Just friends who cruise together.  I keep getting NCL promotional material with his name sent to my address even though we've put both our addresses on our accounts.  We have an agent change it.  It gets changed back as soon as we take another cruise together.  I've given up on that battle.

I do too!! I get my mom's mail all the time from NCL lol

I cruise with a good friend.  But I do all the cruise booking and pre-cruise work.  I created his online account and entered all his information, including his preferred payment method.  Once the account is created, there is a way to search for the current cruise(s) by entering the reservation number.

I don't recall if I manually entered a Latitudes number for him in the account or if it generated a new one for him that I then somehow had merged with an older one.  That part escapes my memory.  I'm pretty sure I didn't have to set his own account up until he already had a couple NCL cruises under his belt.  I BELIEVE I had his Latitudes number handy from a previous trip and somehow entered it during account creation.

we have two trips booked and she has two different latitudes numbers.  when I tried to create an account for her, it wouldn't take the most recent one that I've already paid for but it would take the number for the one in December that I haven't paid for.  I hate Carnival but their website was a little more user friendly

I'd never let my air travels be booked and handled by NCL even if it saved me some money. The stress, time lost, and anxiety they'd put me through wouldn't be worth the money I would save on a ticket. No way .....

Our flight times were perfect and we love the thought that someone will be waiting for us at the airport to drive us straight to the cruise port.

Yes and I even asked for it to be cooked to a medium instead of well done. .... medium done cut of pork/beef. (Slightly juicy but tougher since it was well done)

.... You asked for medium pork?????? Are you serious??  You can get worms that way
