Yea, that’s a good deal.  And since your only going NC to New Orleans, I would also feel that pretty much any flights were going to be tolerable.  Once you get the actual flight, if you don’t have seat assignments or don’t like the seats you got, you are allowed to call the airline directly to try and change them.

I was able to go to the Delta website and choose my seats.  You can upgrade yourself as well

Thank you. I just called our TA. They contacted NCL for the deal. My current flight prices for 3 is $2,100. NCL came in at $500 for all 3 of us. I can deal with whatever airline and time they give me for $1,600 difference. I was at the point of having to completely cancel the cruise when flights were going to be almost the price of the cruise.

I have found their prices to be unbeatable.  I have anxiety driving in larger cities so I don't drive anywhere like Atlanta or Orlando.  We got round trip flights from Pensacola, Fl to Orlando for $100 each through NCL.  It's about a 9 hour drive so given the cost of gas and hotel rooms, we could not have driven cheaper than to fly through NCL.

Onboard now. My internet connection is sketchy at best.   I posted when we boarded that Kinky Boots is back.

Getting on the ship was a breeze. We got to the port just after 10:00, handed off our bags, headed upstairs at the port for our testing, no lines, results were quick, back down the stairs for check in, then onto the ship for us.   The total process was approximately 35 minutes from drop off to having drink in hand.  Oh, muster  was a matter of having your card swiped at your station, done.

Yes, you can get a paper copy of the dailies on deck 6 reception area, although our steward did leave a copy of today’s in our cabin last night.

That's awesome you were able to board so early.  our flight is set to come into Barcelona at 9 am cruise day and I'm thinking...what in the world are we going to do all day while we wait to board

You can't finish the checkin process until you are within 21 days of your sailing.  That being said, Saturday was our 21 day mark.  Even after fully completing the checkin process I was unable to print the e-docs.  I opened a chat session on the NCL website and they were able to fix the problem.

    thanks so much!

  5. When we went to the Bahamas and Canada, stores at those cities accepted USD and gave change in native currency.  I like doing this as I collect foreign money as a souvenir for myself and my kids.  I read on a Facebook post most European ports won't take US currency.  Did you find that to be true? I can always get money converted but it feels like cheating lol   I will do it if I have to but it's fun to me to bring back money from the country I visited.

In normal times, not a good idea to book a cruise for a port.  In covid times, an awful idea to book a cruise for a port.

wait....so why do you book a cruise? I always book for a port.

I'm guessing the OP and I have a similar itinerary, but there are still 7 Rome excursions to choose from with mine.  Maybe she isn't looking in the right place?

  7. I'm a roll with the punches kinda gal but four days at sea would piss me off, especially because I'm American and would have to fly over 9 hours to get there.  I can do a mostly "at sea" cruise from here.  I'm booked on the Epic for October out of Barcelona and if they do this I'm cancelling

One the main features that has us looking w/interest at Virgin Voyages is their 18+ restriction. But, we don't have anything booked w/them yet.

They have very basic destinations, last I checked.  I'm more interested in places like Greece, Italy, Spain, Antarctica, Ireland, etc.  I would be all over a Virgin Voyage if the destinations were more diverse

We aren't talking about bidding. We are talking about calling NCL directly and paying the difference to upgrade. Apparently it's questionable whether this is doable if you booked the airfare promo. Upgrade Advantage (bidding to upgrade) has always had no impact on your booking perks. You keep the booking perks you had with your original booking and do not receive any new ones if you win the bid.

    gotcha, thanks!

Did you have an airfare promo?  My understanding is that you can't upgrade if the promos don't match (and airfare promos aren't available within 60 days).  Aldo, when did you upgrade?  Apparently this is a new policy in the past few weeks.

I have the airfare promo and was offered the option to bid on an upgrade
