  1. Been looking at the pricing of Celebrity and RCCL and have noticed a significant price increase without adding anything to the cost then the name branding. We are seasoned cruisers, and looked at trying a different line then our regular, Carnival, have been on RCCL and it was a great cruise it just didn't have a fun vibe. Was seriously considering Celebrity until I was on the NCL looking at the pricing, mock booked a balcony room, logged off. Then I am not kidding you, less then 10 minutes I get a call from NCL to see if they can help finish the booking. I explained I was price comparing, he asked how they did in that category. I told him both were very comparable with NCL being a bit cheaper. He went to explain the FAS, BOGO Air, half off deposits, I was floored they even called. Something we all do is not include all the extras, Air, adults drinks etc as this increases the total cost. Well we are booked for our first NCL in August, Breakaway and are excited to cruise with them... Sure, most lines are simular but different enough to make a difference. The NCL guy was so helpful and even placed a hold for us so I can continue to research. He made all the difference and can't wait to give NCL a try an, see if it will be our new go too...
  2. Awesome, thus curtailed my fears of someone else picking our flights. We will be flying in from NM to MIA and have always been the one making the choices. This add on of BOGO definitely is worth it if the flights are not crap per say. Thank you for the reply!!
  3. Lots of replies about international flights, how about domestic flights? I booked our first NCL with BOGO and was about $500 cheaper with the cost of airfare right now. I know the cost fluctuates but just curious....
  4. I never conciderd that on RCCL, will look into that. I have yet to sail on NCL and this coming August will be our first. I hear good things about the Haven and will go from there after our first cruise with NCL... As far a Virgin, I just can't seem to hit the book button.. Oh well...
  5. Been on RCCL and enjoyed it but the cost today is not worth it, I mean Icon interior room for $1600 pp, seriously, new ship or not....IMHO... Virgin, dunno it gives me the creepy vibe, if you will, dunno for no other reason then my own silliness.. Maybe it's that red lighting in the ship, I don't know but I don't have a desire to try.... Loyalty branding is kind of silly as one gets a different colored card, BFD as one really doesn't get benefits until the much higher tier status. I see all cruise lines eventually moving on to a virtual, electronic type like ticketmaster has done.
  6. Wow that is surprising as this past March on Celebration the lasagna was terrible and inedible, the single worst dish I have been served while on a cruise ship....🤢
  7. We just got back from a long weekend in NYC and so enjoy that place, can't wait to go back!! Found a flight at 415pm and actually get us home 1 hour sooner.... Our last Lyft ride was on a mission as we got from the battery park area to LGA in a flat 25 minutes at 7am!!!🤯 Thanks all for the suggestions...
  8. We sail in August so April seems right, good to know we can book when on board...
  9. It's called gathering new business, aka money!!! Ask Virgin why???😉 Exactly....👍 Ha, fat finger that one!!!🤣
  10. I see that Virgin and MSC match loyalty programs, does NCL?
  11. It just says not available at this time, will definitely look in April, thanks.. Brand new to NCL, this is our 1st time....
  12. Wow, what a mess regardless of the situation!! We purchased the BOGO for our cruise in August but it's only a domestic flight and hope we are not given screwy times. I have checked and it's about a $500 savings right now, I will be checking periodically to see if I can get better cost... Thank you for the post!
  13. I booked through NCL and their personal planner or whatever they are called. I am in a balcony room...
  14. Thanks didn't think about that, our cruise is next August 1st time with NCL.... Is that about the time the dining options open?
  15. I saw a room upgrade and tried to input my info and it told me my reservation is not eligible?
  16. Thanks all, SWA have scheduled, rescheduled, adjusted our flights so many times I was confused. With all of the posts and help I have a 4:15 flight scheduled, having experienced the Manhattan traffic this past weekend, this will give us plenty of time...
  17. Hello... 1st time sailing out of NY and was wondering what time the ship usually starts disembarking? Reason is our flight out of LRG is at 12:25 and not sure how or what time the Venezia starts? We will not be doing self check out as this is a 12 day Journeys Cruise and the luggage is rather large, 3 of them between the 2 of us and don't like slugging it around. Is 1225 doable, with enough time to not rush like fools? Let me know what you all have experienced out of NY... TIA
  18. Thanks, still pondering times etc as I have plenty of time left, we cruise in March
  19. Hello, I see the ship is supposed to arrive at the port in NY at 7ish or so but my question our flight is scheduled at 1225, is this cutting it too close? Never been to NY and have no idea on travel time, TIA!
  20. Thanks, we honestly don't mind sharing a table, most, and I use that term lightly, most of the time it makes for great conversations
